Title: Mac Problems :\
Post by: Shadowmoon on September 02, 2012, 01:20:45 am
This is pretty long so please read it all...

Ok..so I've been playing Feral-Hearts since it was available on the mac. Recently I ran into problems when I uninstalled it during my midterm time so I could focus on studying rather then playing FH. So..I recently have been trying to reinstall it. It gave me this message saying that I need to update Gecko..I wasn't sure how so I went to the Wine website which linked me to the Winery Link which I installed. I tried updating whine..I get to the screen right before you load the game were it tells you to press ok.. However it had said OpenGL and I never use OpenGL besides when I use OpenGl the graphics are awful..and it plays music which I haven't been playing with for months. So now.. I'm in a pickle and I don't know what to do.. Some please help me though because I seriously don't know what to do.. Do I install the unstable version..or what :\. Comment with advice please Thanks c:

I believe that you have to use OpenGL in order to get the best experience in non-Windows computers. c: DirectX behaves erratically with Wine, and at times it might not even work. As for the music, when you reinstall the game the music.cfg file is set to default again.

If you get the Wine Configuration just quit Feralheart, then replay it again. It wont pop up again. Yes, Decessei is right, Mac only allows OpenGL. If you redownload Feralheart, you may find, that your connection is much better. You can even adjust the quality of the game if you'd like.

If you do not prefer the music supplied ingame, then maybe shut it off, or make your own music, which is always fun.

If you need any further instructions, just ask, im here. c:

Alright. I guess I just deal with the shitty graphics..but how do you fix them? I know how to get rid of the music. But if I add my stuff back in will it mess up the game?

Given whatever you add to it is stable and compatible with the game, it should run just fine. c: If anything goes wrong after you add a certain thing though, you should remove that.
Also, you can change graphics settings in ogre.cfg, in your game options, or in the dialog that shows as you start the game.
