Title: Halloween - Discussion
Post by: wolfgirl56 on September 12, 2012, 01:04:54 am
What are your thoughts on Halloween?
I love and hate it at the same times, because:
1. I'm a coward.
2. I like seeing other people being scared, the costumes, and of course, candy.

Do you plan on going around the neighborhood or something to get candy, or would you rather watch TV or something? I would like to go, and if I do, I plan on going as The Grudge or Samara Morgan.

I do it for, both, free candy and staying up late!

This halloween, I'm depating on being either a zombie, or a nerd.

But, this year, I get to stay up late and watch the Adams Family!

Sounds like fun. =3

If I go as Samara, I'm going to sing "Samara's Song" while walking around the place.

I used to love Halloween when I was a kid. My dad and I used to climb up a large pine tree in our front yard, stuff a dummy with leaves, and drop it on people [we tied a rope to it so we could pull it back up].

One year we dropped it on a couple of neighborhood watchmen from the block church [they were doing some sort of thing in a negative response towards Halloween that year] and we scared them that way. One man screamed like a little girl, while the other laughed sooooo hard. They were in their sixties xD

Over the years I got sort of...meh when it came to Halloween. My sister always stole my candy from me and I never had a real attachment to my sweet tooth, so I lost interest.

I also stopped handing out at Halloween because there were some really, REALLY creepy people that would come up to the house and I was like, nine when I stopped trick-or-treating.

I like Halloween. A lot. Not sure why, because I'm one of those people who, if I read even a scary story before bed, I'll fear the dark for days. I'm not good with scary sturff. At all. lul.

Not sure if I'm actually doing anything for Halloween this year, though. If anything, I'mma be trick-or-treating on tumblr. Because yus. I am that forever alone. Or I'll go throw marshmallows at a friend's house. Never know...

@shusuke: lol, I wish I did that trick but...the neighbors won't be happy with me afterwards.

I really love Halloween because:

1. I get to wear a costume and get candy.
2. I love seeing houses that look "haunted".
3. Creepy things, oh yeah! I can name all of the creepy, scarcely stuff in Halloween.
4. I get to see other people dressing up as something/someone.

And I'm planning to be a cheetah, a leopard or spottedleaf (from the warrior cat book series). but........I don't know which one but Halloween is just a month away so I don't have to worry about that for now.

Thoughts on Halloween?

Well it's a bit mixed on to be honest, but I do find it interesting.

Since I live in Sweden I can directly say that Halloween is not even half as a big thing as it is over in the States, I remember it being a fuzz about it a few years ago(10 or so), and quite a few people did it, but it has been rather dead lately and I haven't heard much about this. One of the main reasons can really be because suburbs areas with lots of children families is probably the places that has the most Halloween action going on if there is any here at all.

I think many Swedes(Especially the older ones) do not like the whole idea of walking around begging for candy at other peoples houses or scaring people in general, especially during a night that is meant to pay our respects for our lost ones at the graveyard such as relatives that passed away, so in that perspective I can really understand.

But personally I feel like we could really have a lot more Halloween action going on here than the very little we have right now. I really find it an interesting part of the year and the whole idea is rather unique, bringing people together in a somewhat, weird way. I find Halloween cosy, being outside those dark Autumn nights, seeing the candles and what not. People running around in their costumes, telling creepy stories. Just something about it, and it feels like we are missing out.

Poor Red.

Well, I used to live in Alaska... But we didn't have Halloween very much, only because the only 'neighbors' we had were a mile apart from us.

But, now that I live somewhere else, mom loves to go everywhere! Nearly literally, she wants me and my brother to have as much candy as possible! (No wonder why I feel bloated on certain days. >.<)
