Title: Lil' question about the map limits
Post by: Raxoremys on September 30, 2012, 06:26:32 pm
I was wondering, is it possible to change the limit on just one map? Or do they need to be done all together? Because this whole 160 limit...it's just not working for Fluorite. It's really not. The other maps(aside from maybe Bonfire and South Pole) are doing fine with that limit, but on such a large and popular map it just doesn't make sense. It's pretty disappointing looking at the little sidebar on the right, seeing that there are 158 people out of 160 already in there and thinking "Nope, not getting in today I guess"...

I think the map limits are the server limits, so they would have to be increased together.
And I agree, it's becoming very tight, even the South Pole is 2 spaces away from being full.

Wait a sec, I just looked at the sidebar and for Fluorite it said 162/160...O_O WHAT?

Yep, it often does that.
We think it's the staff, or just the bar at the side going weird.

Well the reason Razmirz changed the limit was pretty much for Fluorite specifically. Because so many users like to go and fill it to its limits, we'd end up having 500 users in there if the map could handle it with no limits. The point is to spread people out and avoid so many map/server crashes because of too many users in one place.
Also, that 162/160 bit is a weird glitch. It never gets past 160 inside the actual map (from what I know) and my guess is because people may be logging on/off into the map at the same times and it ends up counting funny.
