I just thought I'd do a fun little poll. :)
I had just started this game today, but I had a friend who had to wait for a month for the registrations to open up. So, I thought it would just be fun to see what everyone else thought, as in, is it fair how their running the registrations or not?

It's true this can be vexing when you want to get a friend into the game...
But there are reasons behind this, which gives me reason to believe it'll keep on as such. At times there were 1000+ registrations monthly on the forums, this hopefully helps keep the numbers down.

I actually think its a good idea. The only thing that I could see as irritating is the fact that it opens at random.

Yea, I was lucky though, I only had to wait a few weeks. :P
I think it's a good idea, but at the same time it probably stinks when you want to register. :( But now that I have an account I can really see why they did this. :)

Yes, I think we'd all like to see people being able to register easier, but that's not the case. Well, I'm sorry for your friend, but the game server needs to slow it down a bit. There are alreasy tons of people on Feral Heart which can cause crashes and lag. --Not to metion glitches.

...The registration opens at random..Perhaps your friend's timing is a bit..off. Would it help if she/he was more observant or active? Possibly.
Oh and I do believe they are running it fairly..since it's for the greater good.

I only had to wait for 2 weeks so I was pretty satisfied :P

That was I think it, because when the registration opened up a few days ago, my friend didn't register, so he's probably lacking in checking it often. :)

Registration opens at random, and supposedly the staff do not even know when it will decide to open up.

I personally think that it is best for the game because you'll get an account sooner or later! ;D

As a person who's had to wait for other game registrations and such, I understand if people are a bit impatient. It's best for the game server, though. It keeps the member count steady and doesn't over-work the game, so it's all for the best of intentions.

I think it's fair. The server must be so overloaded. And it stops lots of multiple accounts too

And, it is pretty fair. In a sense. When you think about it.
Not sure if they're doing this or have already done it, but they should delete the members that haven't logged on for maybe.. about.. a year..? It would help.

As we have all mentioned before; it takes so much time to delete members. We have to go through and clean out those accounts individually; that's difficult when there are well over 180,000 accounts.
And as others have said, it does open at random. Even we don't know when it will open until it actually is open. We post on the FH Tumblr if either Crin or myself happen to catch it...but really it's just a matter of checking over and over if your friends really want to join.

Are there any pointers that show when registration is open, just so I can keep a look out? I showed FH to my friend and he's interested in joining, so I said I'll let him know when it's open.

There's a very good reason for it even if it bugs you that the registration opens up randomly, they need to keep the numbers down or else the game will lag too much

Yes, it does open at random as others have said. But I recall two weeks ago that it was open, at least for me. I sent my friend a text saying: Registration is open! GO GO GO.
After all, who know's how long it would stay open right?

I did the exact same thing with my friend XD Except he was at the gym at the time so he asked me to do it for him. lol

Like at first when I was waiting to be able to sign up, I was quite angry and mad about the whole thing, but then once I became a member, I changed my thinking on it a little bit.
Because who would want to play if the game is very lagging and whatnot.
I knew I would be upset if I could hardly play because of lag, so I actually like it now! :)

I actually want to say something in this nicroed thread lol.
I don't care at all, since I have been here since 2011. Even before the roar and howl. It does nothing for me. But in other words, I believe it prevents the server from overcrowding.

The only thing that really bugs me about this topic really, is just that I have to make a new account to even play since this account hasn't workedd and the only option left is to make a new one. But, I mean, I don't mind waiting and all, its worth it in the end.

It seems a little too restricted, however, it was done for the best interest of everybody playing. Too many people will fill up already slow servers.

I kinda agree with this, it's just at the same time, what if you haven't played for a year but you want to start playing again but you cant since it's deleted :/
Like how I haven't played the game myself for awhile, I'm not sure if it's been a full year since I've played but I'm thinking of playing again.. and it would not be fun if I would have to wait for registrations again or something xD

I was really lucky when I registrated, I only had to wait 3 days. But the reason they do the registration like this is because it helps the game sever and decreases the amount of people joining each month. When the registration opens, it stays open for 2-3 hours which means I just had to keep checking the registration each hour.

I don't know if it's just me, but I think the game has less players now. Maybe the shine has worn off for some people. Hardly any of my friends are active now and I haven't had a bad token in months. Either I'm just lucky and unpopular or less people want to play now.
Maybe if this continues they can open registration more often. Right now there are 698 people on, last year at this time there would normally be over 800.

Before they closed it to open at random times the game crashed and was over full. Everyone had to fight bad tokens just to get into the plains. I think this helped alt but I dont think its pretty rare to see it ever open.

Technically, it's not really a old thread..It was created by Sweetness. So meaning that, the owner can replied any time, well unless it's over two years or no longer on FH., but yeah...But I don't think its a old thread. Besides, this thread is kinda active.

The mods don't want us users to post in old threads because it would be a spam, and the user that created the thread, probably not on FH no more. So the mods would lock it since it's were bumping an thread, which isn't necessary for the users to post..

I'm not sure they could do that though since even they don't know when it opens.
I don't know a lot about the whole thing, but I don't think they have control over that, like how many times it opens in a week,month, etc.

Arr, I'm not sure why anyone would have to wait an entire month (or more) to register one account, when the fact of the matter is that registration actually opens daily, for about an hour at a time whenever it does open. It's set to open at very random times, but believe me, it does open up for us.
I do think having it open for days at a time during a month would be a bit inefficient, though, since then we literally would have people waiting months to make an account, which wouldn't be very fair in my eyes.
It just sounds to me like those who are looking to register an account just need to be a little more vigilant, it seems. Checking into the forum every hour or two (just when they can) would pay off within a few of days at the most, if they were really seeking to register a new account.
