Ok, so a few days ago I downloaded some items from this website. I wanted to use them in the actual game, so I put them in Boot C- FeralHeart- media- items.
I don't know if thats the right place or not, but when I went onto the game, they weren't in the charcter creator bit where the santa hat is.
However, they were in the map maker, which seemed kinda strange. So yeah, any help on how to get them in the character creator (if possible).
-
First thing I should ask is if you remembered to move the item.cfg to the C: > Feral Heart - folder and then restarted your game. Also, don't forget to replace the files.
-
There were loads of items that were all bunched up in a file together.
I just copied em all and put them in the items folder.
When you say restarted the game, do you mean to log back on to the game after I put them in the items folder?
Cause I did that.

What she means is - if there was an items.cfg file included in your item file bundle, you should drag it to your FeralHeart folder (C:\FeralHeart). If there is no items.cfg file, and instead there is a readme, copy the code inside it and paste it onto the existing items.cfg file in the FeralHeart folder. These files contain vital codes that let the game know which items you have.

Aye, thank you Decessei.

Close the Feral Heart window down and re-launch it, then try it again.
-
There's an Items folder in the FeralHeart Files but no items.cgf folder.
Is it the same thing?

Here you'll be able to see where the file is meant to be places, and which file we mean. ^^ Good luck.
The item codes can also be placed in "ReadMe" and if so, you're meant to copy and paste them into the item file showed on the middle picture.
-
I've clicked on the items button but its popped up with this notes-like page that has a small text box at the top, and underneath it, it says:
#Bones:
#Main
#head, neck2, neck1, spine1, spine2, spine3, spine4
~and so on......
-
Yeah.. If it belongs to the items, it should be moved to where the images I uploaded to the topic are. Replace the file and close the game before re-launching it again.
-
I can't do it.
Sorry but I think I'm missing something.
I don't know how to get the items Iv'e downloaded into the items.cfg file where the santa hat is.
It's just a note-like thing and you can't paste or move anything into it.... :/
-
When I here before I use to have trouble... Well you need help you look at please click me (I think that what it says) and tell you all the directions.

Read the ReadMe file if there is one. There should be a notepad saying items.cfg in the rared/zipped file too. That one you extract and place in C: > Feral Heart and it shall pop up a window saying "Do you want to replace this file?" just click yes.
You've done correct with the other files and placed them in C: > Feral Heart > Media > Items
so there should be no issue after you restart your game fully.
If you really want this to work, note me later and we'll figure it out..
-
Well usually the person who created the download gives a text file to edit the cfg with. If not, you will have to find the names of.each object and list them manually in the file.
-
In the download, it pops up with three things:
Items.zip
Items (with a read-me note in it)
Items (with all the actual items in it)....
Which one do you extract?
-
Have you read through the ReadMe? Because it usually gives instructions how to do it. Mind sending me the link to this item pack through PM?
-
Extract them both, placing the actual items in [media\items] and the codes that <should> be in the Readme over at items.cfg [C:\FeralHeart]. If the codes aren't found in this readme, check the item files for one named items.cfg.

..........I got all this stuff from here-
Ouka's Bundle of Stuff ~ Presets/meshs/maps/items/markings
Type this (or some of this)into the feralheart search and you'll find the place where I got all the items from.
Scroll down when you get there and you'll see where I dowloaded the stuff.
The zipfile I dowloaded was this btw:

Well, that's why you can't find a item.cfg file. It's all inside of the readme.txt.
Here, all you need to do is place it in C: > Feral Heart and REPLACE the item file. http://www.mediafire.com/?165ao6794168w9u (http://www.mediafire.com/?165ao6794168w9u)

What Iv'e done now is put the readme.txt in the FeralHeart folder, and I've named it items. However it won't let me replace the items.cfg, so I've left the readme.txt (items) next to the items.cfg......
IN A NUTSHELL-
(It won't let me replace the items.cfg file for the readme.txt and it won't let me copy and paste the items in the readme.txt into the items.cfg)!
I know it's all probably really simple and I sound like a real idiot but there we go.
-
Download the file I linked earlier and replace it with the items.cfg
-
When downloading, do I press open or save?
-
Save. :)
-
Ugh....FH website kept on telling me I had timeouts everytime I tried to post somethin'.
SO anyway, where were we?
Oh yeah, do you press Open or Open folder?
-
Basically, save the file in the Feral Heart folder and it'll want to replace a file - press yes and you should be ready to go.
-
Thanx!
Well I actually have the items I downloaded now in the game where the santa hat is.
Just one problem...........when I press "add" in the acsessories, you can't see em.
Next to the items at the box on the bottom it says O.....
?

it would be easier for you if you just kept flipping through the pages in ouka's bundle of stuff. i remember requesting him to make an installer to do it all for me, and he made the installer and posted the link. all you have to do is find the link in his post, download the installer, and the installer will do the rest :)
EDIT: here's the link for the installer, it should do all the work for ya: http://adf.ly/2262836/http://www.mediafire.com/?3bwsc15fbnh41p5 (http://adf.ly/2262836/http://www.mediafire.com/?3bwsc15fbnh41p5)
