Title: Multiple Usernames

Oh look.
I'm back with more. o.o

I have one simple question: Why on earth does everybody insist that they need more than one account?
Now just so you know, I myself have one alternate, but just the one. I use it on the rare occasion when I decide I've had enough of my group members for one day, and I need to escape them without logging entirely out of the game, or I use it to see what two different character designs look like when compared.
I can see why having the one alternate would be useful, but do you really need several? I know it can sometimes be difficult to come up with a username that's really "you", especially if the one you want is claimed already, but that can be dealt with, right? o.o"


With the recent (major) server derps, I was wondering if this fact had anything at all to do with it. If this describes you, I was also looking for answers as to why you think you need all those accounts~ x3

I think it's alright to have one alt account, in-case something happens to the one you have or you simply need to get away from people you know.
I have an alt account, pretty much only to reserve the name, something which I find stupid right now because I don't even use the name 'Tass' anymore.

Though, I know someone who has about 6 or 8 different accounts which is a bit over the top.

I don't like the idea of having more than one account to be honest, although me and my sister have to make an exception with our IP address's.
It can be useful, especially for RP's, but I know a lot of people who will only make another account to spy on their enemies. /dafuq/

I kinda like the idea of having more than one account, but like you said.. too many ain't good either.
I personally don't like it if people hoard accounts - no offence Dub. xD

Honestly, I like it when people are creative with their usernames, but 'account hoarders' make it a lot harder for them to be. ^^'
I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons why people add numbers, X's, etc.

Anywho.. yeah.. I think having alt accounts are awesome as long as they're created for a good reason.

Well I only have this one account but yes, I think you shouldn't have multiple accounts. The server will get over-loaded and it'll crash again like it did the other day.

 *heavy sigh* Let me tell you why I have 5 accounts. I started out with just my Silvertide account, but when I was, 12, I was innocent and stupid so I decided I wanted to make an acc with a cooler name, which in the end I didn't like andI gave the account to my little sister. The next account I made was just because I wanted another account with the username that is a sort of an inside joke between me and some other people. The fourth account I made was because I wanted to escape my friends on it because my third account was already known by most of my friends, but in the end I didn't use it that much. And my fifth account was because my friends wanted me to make another account. I like the username but I'm not on it much. I'm never making another account again, but I feel like I'v grown 'attatched' to my other accounts and I can't bare to let em' go.

Like already stated;

I have multiple accounts, for the purpose of keeping roleplay organized, hiding away, and the like. I think having is a good idea, over-hoarding is not.

I know the feeling. Even though comments about my username get rather annoying and I don't have that much of an interest in dubstep anymore, I wouldn't consider a username change. If I'm correct, the username will be available for pick when the change is made. That would mean someone could go ahead and "steal" your identity, which already sorta happened to me in WQ.

As for the outburst of accounts, it's their choice if they don't allow actual account removal. If I remember correctly, keeping accounts is a way to monitor us.

 Yep, and I think I heard that all the characters and bios people have on their other accounts causes some lag, or clutter. I don't like having 5 accounts because it makes me feel unorganized, but I don't hoarde accounts for no reason, even if my reasons are stupid. I know someone with 20+ accounts, or somewhere around there. I couldn't believe it, do people really need THAT massive number of accounts? I would think a lot of them would go unused. o-o

I have an alternate account that I made and used when my original account (the one I'm using now) stopped working for some reason and I couldn't get into the game with it. So I made that one, just as an experiment to see if it was my computer or my account that was spazzing for some reason. It wasn't. Because the new one worked! XD But I found that my original started working again and went back to using this one.

Alternative accounts can be useful but they can also make things unnecessarily difficult and confusing; I had added several friends on my other account, but had to send quite a few messages, whispers and group and friend requests when I went back to using this one. That was annoying! So I am considering deleting it.

Also, when people talk about their usernames and deciding they no longer like them, does it really matter? It's just a name that people identify you by. It doesn't mean anything. I understand that people like to have names that represent them in a way, but in the end, it's just a name. One should not get so worked up about them.

Actually, I believe there is a way to delete accounts if memory serves me correctly... You'd go to the forum, to your profile and then at the bottom of the list on the left-hand side, it has a button that says 'Delete this account' o3o

I was on the verge of a new account, when I got many people randomly calling out to me in Fluorite. But I avoided it, as you can achieve more as yourself, not as 8 different people. How do your friends remember who you are? xD -Sympathetic to the friends of those who have 7-8 accounts.-

No one really need more than one account to be completely honest, as long as you have one account you get access to all the functions of the game like everyone else, there is no "true" benefits of having more.

But..

I do understand the idea behind having a backup account/alternative for such reasons as keeping away from crowds, being more private. But some users take this out of hand, and it does causes issues.

The biggest problem with having lots of accounts, or account hoarders in general is.

1. They take up usernames that other people could've had when they already have a few accounts in their possession. It's selfish if you ask me and I never see how anyone needs more than two accounts in general unless they have an extremely good reason. Thinking of the new changes regarding the registrations I honestly like it more since before users could create account after account, sometimes people just had a derplongworth list with accounts that they never used.

2. You yourself become less reliable as the person you are. If it isn't for those taking care of the game, it's for those who know you. If you keep changing accounts to names people do not know of all the time, people will suspect you are hiding something, and you will become unreliable. Especially if you have been up to no good in the past, instead of coming clean and sorting things out you are jumping between accounts.

3. Dead accounts, what good does it bring? Not much.

People just need to settle down with the account they get or think things through before making it honestly. There's some pluses by having a few accounts, but in all honesty no one truly needs these to play the game, and some just take it too far and hoard accounts that end up being no good for anything at all, maybe even causing issues.

Doesn't matter who you are really, if you stick with your account you will become more trustworthy for all players that ever meet you, and you will be known as you, not as "these".

You do have a point there Red. But if you are using more accounts for a specified, ligitamite purpose, (like me) perhaps there are 'true' benefits.
Admitedly, I have 3 accounts. However, each serves a purpose.
1 is my absolute top main, which is this one. The second is a backup. My third is a second backup for presets/videos. All three are used for video making. I'm weird and like having complete control over whose where in my videos, so having three makes video making easier personally. It's hard to explain to someone what you visualize in your head when it comes to videos. Also, having to deal with giving out private maps is asdfghjkl. Some can cause lag which would hinder the video process. So that's why I have 3. (That's where I slightlyargue that backups have 'benefits'. plzdon'tkillme)
Then my RL friend wanted one but was acting all derpish, not making one,  so I made it for him and now he never uses it. I use that occasionally if it's desperately needed for videos.
I don't spy on people, I don't bother people on them and hide. No. Personally, really all I do on FH now is occasional rps, map making, and video editing. So yeah... -rolls away-

I myself as a video maker personally know that 3 accounts do not benefit you that much unless you are just after a character standing still or using a dance move.

As when it goes for capturing you cannot really control more than two characters in a good way at the same time. The third account becomes very low on usage area for moving shots. But indeed, if you need a still character for lets say certain shots in a movie or maybe even comic I understand.

But it still doesn't benefit you as a player to have more accounts, 1 account is all that you need to be able to connect to the game and play, and that was what I was after. Not to mention the pointing towards account hoarders. Having 3 accounts is more of the "meh" do as you please situation more than account hoarding, there's no fine line where it starts to become hoarding, that's why in general users shouldn't go around creating lots of accounts unless they have a good reason, making videos is an understandable one, but there's those out there who doesn't even do that and still stack up on accounts, and if everyone would go around with lots of accounts for pretty much no good reason at all, all of the things mentioned above will happen. If someone takes good care of their few accounts and actually use them I couldn't care less xD

But having lots of accounts, keeping changing them because of bad behavior, troubles settling with names, wanting to sneak up on friends, I just see as a selfish and a pointless cause, and no matter how many accounts you have, or what you use them for. You will only be able to truly focus on one instance of the game at the time, maybe people want to boast about multitasking and having several windows for different roleplays going at once and that's cool I guess, but you still aren't paying full attention on either of them.

Maybe there's tiny benefits, but not big enough to change that anyone should stack up on accounts, it's wrong. Kinda just wish people were a bit more considerate when it came to the accounts and as long as someone take good use of the ones they have, they shouldn't feel like I'm out to get them since no one can really stop anyone from registering more than one.

I remember when I first got FeralHeart that I created a character and wanted another, but unfortunatly for me, I was too dumb with the game to know what the "create" button was for after making one character. I thought that if you made a character already and then click the create button it would delete your char and the new one would take place. So I made another account, but wanted more. and then when it came to running out of emails I made some Yahoo ones and registered more. And then one day my friend told me that you can click the create button and you have more than one character in you user.. and I'm like.. "you gotta be joking?" Funny story, aye? xDD

But now I would say all the multiple accounts are deleted, thank God. but I did make another 2 because I wanted to start off fresh as on my old users I wasn't making a very good impression. But I've deleted a few and I'de say the rest are gone too, and that I only use the account "ace13" now c:

And yes. There's no need for multiple accounts these days. Maybe 1 extra is good though, to role play or something?

I use two computers actually. As weird as it sounds. But I shouldn't be talking about it lol. We should be discussing the accounts not how videos are made.

And I use them regularly. The only one which isn't used often is my friends so I should prolly tell him I'll delete it if he's not using it.

Would deleting accounts help with the server hiccups?

Nah chur not weirdies, it's easier to get complex movements done yourself instead telling a friend to do a series of them that you might end up needing to re-take.

I'm not sure how much that would be changed if we all of a sudden got a good majority of inactive accounts removed, something that Razmirz most likely knows things about, but I do believe stability might improve on the servers, however just plain off deleting inactive accounts is not something anyone would want to do plain off, deleting a created account is not that nice exactly since no matter how it would be done, users will miss quite a few of their luffly accountz. And if they were to be deleted it would take a very long time for the server to just go through all the accounts.

Not sure if this will be something that will happen.

...Lol. I actually share my home with a whole group of people XD (It is huge...) Most of which, all have FH accounts. Let's see, I live with: SukiMikora, KratosAurion, ZelosWilder, Ratatosk, LloydIrving, DecusVanguard, Verius Heart, and... a few more which I don't care to memorize their FH usernames. The home is actually owned by KratosAurion, but he allows his fellow Tales of Symphonia fan friends to live with him XD (Kratos is liek, 36 o3o) LloydIrving is his son. Figures. Zelos is Lloyd's best friend. Derp. Suki is Mithos' girlfriend. I'm one of Suki's brothers. Karin is me and Suki's brother. Sheena is Zelos' girlfriend... and so on. We all live together ^_^; It gets crazy. LOL.

And btw. My sister's creepypasta is entirely fake. Genis is still alive, I assure you. Suki just wanted to get herself into trouble. LOL.

Yes,  agree I have one alternate account for some of the those reasons actually! But previously, in my noob year, I had 4 accounts o-o. I don't know why, but I have smartened up and deleted 2 of them. Now it's just my main and alt.
I wonder if all these inactive accounts (because it's rly laggy and not recommended to be on more than 1 account at a time) could be the cause of the in-game server derp? I do think the amount of players on FH are skyrocketing but although it isn't necessary, could having a large number of accounts really be an issue?
