I use Gimp 2.8 to make my maps, (I recently got Photoshop portable and I'll be using that now) and I always make my maps 513x513. Then, when I finish them and go into the portal in-game, I can dash across the map from one corner to the other in less than half a minute :/ Also, the whole terrain map fits in the little map in the top left corner on the screen. But it my friends' maps, the map takes FOREVER to just dash(using E) across from one corner to the other. And, to see the whole terrain map you have to zoom out alot, and still the whole terrain isn't visable. How do I get my maps to be big like the other maps I rp in? My friends use the same program as me, so how come my maps are so small in contranst? I once tried to make a map 1500x1500 and it crashed my FH. Do I have to use Photoshop for it to work?
PS: How do I make terrain masks? Because it's kind of boring having the same grass texture on the land and in the rivers :P

Once you've got the map into FH, you need to change it's size from there. Go to the "world" tab in the map maker option, and mess with the width and height boxes. These change the size of the map, and the height of any hills.
Just be sure to keep the GIMP map size at 513x513, or it won't work at all when you go to open it in FH. :P

OK thanks! I'll try that :)
