Anyone ever had the WORST map claimers? I think the worst are warrior cats. Your just chatting with your group in a little area and all of a sudden a group of warrior cats run up and start caps spamming they're heads off. I've had this happen to me a million times.
Me and le pride awkwardly sitting around: So... I'm bored :P
random cats come up: move we own this area now. Just btw tehr are anoder clan that owns all of te flourite.
(Remind you they can't spell for crud.)
Me: *they're *another *the
One kit named Owlkit: Hey i can spel jurst fine.
Me: *I *spell *just
(One leader. Can't remember the name so Iam reacting this as best as i can): leave we were here first. We've been here for 2 years
Me: -Facepalm- let's just go guys
Cats: cowards, this is our territory!
Me: map claimers that can't even spell
They continued running their mouth until I called their leader 'he' they flipped out and started calling us map claimers. The cat was a female .-.
That's most of that story I will never forget >.<
Explain any map claiming stories here. And I tried my best to remember and re act it because it happened not that long ago :P
-
Oh dear. Map claimers. There's really no getting to them!
Me: -Sitting calmly with my friend-
Person: guys move please this is our territory. you have no right to be here.
Kumatora(friend): No right to be here, you say? We have just as much right as you do.
Person: we were here first
Me: I don't care. This is a public map. Either share it or get your own private map.
Person: looks like were gonna do this the hard way, im reporting u guys
Kumatora: Reporting us for sitting and chatting in a public map? The Mods/Admins won't do anything. It isn't against the rules. We are allowed to be here.
Me: Either block us, or not. We aren't moving.
Person: fine. stupid heads
Kumatora: REEEEEAL shallow insult. This isn't first grade.

I've never come into contact with any map claimers. But why what you guys have put, they sound extremely annoying.
First thing's first, map claimers, learn to spell properly. You might be young but it's never too late or early to learn, or to improve. Secondly, it's against the rule to claim on public maps. And just in case people who don't know the definition of the public map, it's a map that you didn't make and came in with the game download. If you insist on claiming 'territory' make your own maps. It's perfectly fine to do that in your own custom map, or one someone elses if they allow it.
There.

It's always a good idea to make sure they're actually map-claiming, and not simply roleplaying that you're an intruder in their pack/pride/clan territory. That's happened to me more often than true map-claimers, though that can be annoying too.
It's more common for lions to shun me. ;D
I actually like to hang out in Bonfire (it's fun to watch the silliness), but unfortunately for me that means all the lions in the cave caps-spamming me for sitting there, just because my main chara happens to look somewhat like a hyena. ::)
Map claimers don't bug me so much as they amuse me, when they try to roleplay you out of "their territory" with everything they've got, before finally turning around and ranting about how mean you're being. I still tell them that it shouldn't be done though, and nothing will come of any report they make, because sharing a cave isn't aganist the rules..~
-
Exactly. I can usually tell when someone's RPing or not. I've been on the game long enough and had too many experiences. If it's an RP, I cooperate and get out because it's just an RP, depending on the skill level of course. Auto-hitters and powerplayers I normally ignore. But if they are claiming the map outside of RP, that's when it goes against the rules.
-
No matter what character I'm on warrior cats find a way to bother me ~.~ And these guys weren't the best spellers in the world either :p. I remember because I kept auto correcting a kit and they caps spammed at me. They just seem the worst :p
-
My theory: Warriors are for all ages, but a lot of the people who do read Warriors are around the ages of 11-12, and most are illiterate. Not saying some aren't, but that's been my experience. I was illiterate when I was 12 as well, and I loved Warriors back then. Not stereotyping Warriors fans or anything, but that's just my opinion.
-
Same. Through the years of Feral Heart I've learned to get way better at my literacy
-
Same here. It pains me to see this: "u r stoopid"

Alizarin's thought of the day.....
I remember my first day on Feral Heart, I ran into a map claimer. He was a wolf that was claiming the whole N/Z as his pack territory. He threatened to "hurt" or "kill" my character if I didn't get off of his pack's territory. But then, a passer-by came to mess with him, saying, "We can be here if we want. You have no right to claim this place as YOUR territory." I didn't stick around to see the rest of the argument, because I had other maps to explore.
Best thing to do with these map claimers is...
1. Ignore them... they will eventually give up and stop.
2. Threaten to report them if they don't stop. It usually shuts them up, but if it doesn't then go to plan 3.
3. Report them if they won't stop or if they start using foul language.
4. Block them, nuff said.
There really is no reasoning with most map-claimers. Believe me, I've tried and it never got anywhere.
-
I normally don't block. I like to try and get along and learn to live with everybody, but if it gets bad enough I will.
-
I haven't come across many map claimers, but I have had it happen once or twice. Although, both times were with Warrior Cats. If I remember correctly, the said that I had to leave because it was their territory, and they were going to kill my character if I didn't leave...
-
I hate map claimers.. I made the best map ever for a group of mine... it's an elemental group with territories for each element, but one of the other members when phsyco because I was in their territory. How rude of them, I own the group and the map, and just because we're from different element and territories, doesn't mean that we need to stay out of others territory. I made the map for all to have fun, not to be a nub and disobey the rules..
-
Oh another time I was hanging with my group when those warriors of StormClan started boasting about being able to take down a lion in one swipe, they were talking Ic and so I commented saying its not possible OOC. They started commenting about us being on their land when we were a little ways away. They started swearing and powerplaying ugh. Typical map claimers start powerplaying in under 5 minutes.
-
Usually Warrior Cats leave me alone if I'm a huge lion or a wolf. XD
-
I am an active member of NatureClan, and I know this is annoying. Sometime I just chillax in a random place and they start to curse on me for being in their territory, when I'm obviously OOC, in one of my favorite place. Thats why I never start a fuss about territory when the person is 1. Basicly here for fun 2. ... a random warrior who OBVIOUSLY comes because he is friend. Why I start a fuss: The person is/or was in NatureClan and come there with his powerplayer warriors, telling us to get the fluff out (without any censor =.=) OR, the person wants to RP as a an enemy xD
But I would never yell at an OOC, maybe except trolls. I wish errybodeh out there had the same way to RP as me ._o
-
Lol, to be honest I like messing with map claimers. I swoop in every cave in the plains like a superhero, telling them it's public.
The other day this happened.
Setting the scene, me sitting in a den with two leopards on my back.
Baby leopard: mom, there's a wolf.
Mom leopard: Wolf, leave this place, this is our territory.
Me: It might be, but I think I'm gonna stay. Since it's public and all.
Mom Leopard: Just wait till my mate gets here, you are dead.
Me: Ok, I'll wait.
They soon leave. I don't believe there was ever a mate coming... Hurhur.
-
I hate people that claim... It's such a pain and they have no right too. The same sort of thing has happened to me on FH. 8)
-
Why dont people just create their own maps to play on. Much more simple than to go around claiming portions of public map for themselves.

:P Exactly what I wonder. Buuuuuut.... life can never be THAT easy, now can it? X3

No I suppose not. Usually when I run into people like that, I just sit there idle and play AFK. That way most their effort is wasted in trying to message a person who isnt there.

LOL I've done that. I went "Afk" for 2 hours. XD

I think one reason they claim is because some of them can't download maps. Once in a map you can choose a territory or given one :p
-
Mhmm, a lot of people don't know how to do it, even with instructions in the folder... But obviously that's no excuse to claim the public maps.

That... OR they are not allowed to download maps. You know, because they may be using their parent's computer and the parents may not want them downloading extra stuff. Even then, it's still no excuse.
There is always another alternative. If they start to map claim, you can always breakout into song...

I just don't mind the territory claimers that much even if they are soooo annoying.Everytime one comes to me and says something like :"Get the H*** out of here this terrirory is mine!" I just explain them why they shouldn't do it but of course they insist on making me leave so block them and you should be just fine.(or do what they want and move elsewhere)
-
ok I hate map claimer just as everyone out there :P
so I was in Flourite (correct me if the spelling is wrong) and i was Trinty SFA F because that was my clans Alpha. So I am in the pine forest near the edge and there was a wolf that said and i quote "gettt of are terorty orf i wil keel yoo.". I said "ok first you are a map claimer and please learn how to spell". he said -keels trinty with one bite". I said -walks off-. people are so weird

yeah they love powerplaying alot...in fact they'll do anything they can to kick you out of "their territory"
-
Also when talking to a map claimer then think your raging irl but your actually laughing. I always stay calm during a chat when they're just going all out raging. It's hard to talk to the to explain that they can't do what they're doing but they continue to do it :p
-
If they are claiming a public map they have no right to kick you out maps like Flourite Plains are for all users. Just ignore them and they will leave if they still continue to make a big fuss just tell them that they have no right to claim that spot unless they made that map and you downloaded it without it being public or having permission. Yes in a RP people will pick a spot as your territory like you said but you cant stop other members from going there just because you are role playing.

Dear Lord, I've come in contact with so many map-claimers. It's horrid really. I just end up blocking them if it gets out of hand.
