I just got from a two week vaca and the game won't even open for me. I have tried everything. I even uninstalled it and re-installed it....What the heck do I do now?? I need to get on!! SOME ONE HELP ME! I keep getting "FeralHeart.exe has stopped working" and some sort of message. THIS IS EVERY TIME! HELP
-
I'd suggest that you check your main 'FeralHeart' folder for any Dou8le Particle files-
They're 8asicly your usual particle files, only with a '_<Number>' in them-- any of these need to be deleted. If this doesn't work, try 'Running FeralHeart as an Administrator'.
Edit:
Installing directX can also stop any sort of 'ogre error' messages- if those are the kind of messages your also getting ono.

No idea what you just said....how would I run it as an ADMIN?
-
For some reason I have two FH folders...could that be causing the problem?
-
Yes, it might be causing the pro8lem- try deleting one of those,~
And please use the 'edit' 8utton if you have something to add to a forum post ::::I
.
As for running as an administrator.
Left-Click your FeralHeart Icon and select 'Run as Administrator' ::::)
-
won't let me run as Admin, but I did delete the other file. this is odd
-
It may depend on what account your on when it comes to the 'Run as administrator' thing--
Try opening FH up right now, and if that doesn't work, delete the other FeralHeart folder /after/ checking it for dou8le particles, and re-install ono.

Nope, still won't let me on. I'll delete the FH files and uninstall the game and redo it all. from scratch. if that doesn't work. Then my RP dies
-
It didn't work. I even uninstalled the entire system and deleted all folders and re-installed all of it and it still won't let me on the game. And I haven't even downloaded my items and maps back on yet. WHY ME?!??!?!?! What else can I do to get into the game? Clearly downloading the game off of this website is not working. :(
-
NOTHING IS WORKING!!! My RP is going to die if I don't get on soon...I mean I have a great group of leaders, but....ugh
-
Calm down, Just reinstall the game.

I've been watching the topic thinking of other things and searching around the forum for other tips not yet mentioned here. I'll post when I find some.

Have you tried changing the rendering subsystem? If you can get to the game's main menu click where it says "options" and then click "video" and change the rendering subsystem from OpenGL to Direct3D9. On the other hand if you can not get the game to open at all try changing your rendering subsystem with the method quoted down below:
Sometimes you aren't able to even enter the game, and all you can hear is the menu music, or it just crashes directly after launch. Those who experience this can enter the feralheart folder located in C:\FeralHeart at standard, find the file called "Ogre.cfg" and open it with wordpad.
This file works just as the ingame options menu, but instead of buttons and sliders, there's text.
What we're interested in is the top row

Set the top row text so it is just like in the picture with the text
Code:
Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
Save the file, and close it. Next time you run the game it should boot with the new settings you applied.

Nothing....didn't pull up the option window. I am screwed. :'(

So did you try the second way in the pic by opening that file in your pc and changing the text? If you did follow that second method and it still didn't work try this:
Open up your control panel located in the start menu. Depending on which Operating system you use, and which layout it might look differently. But Windows firewall should be in the category "security" or just find the text "Windows firewall" or "Allow a program through windows firewall". This should take you to the correct place.
Once there you'll get a new window with a list of programs. Try to locate FeralHeart.exe in there and add it to exceptions by marking the checkbox. If you can't find it, and the game to the list by yourself by pressing add program.
If you don't understand how to do this still, ask someone else to do this for you.
