Hey guys,
Now, I just learned how to make height maps on GIMP, but when I go onto Map Maker and enter the World tab and type in my maps' name, I press the enter key and it just crashes...
I KNOW I got all the letters correct...
Does anyone have a solution for this? Because I really want to become a successfull map maker soon, but if I can't even upload my height maps, I doubt that could happen.
If you have any suggestions, thanks! ^^

Make sure the heightmap is:
- 513x513
- Greyscale
- One layer
- .png image
- Title is *MapNameHere*Terrain.png [[ Of course take out the "*" ]]
Hope this helps. c:

First of all, in order to make it work, it needs to be a .png file. In the name, it needs to have (Name)Terrain. If you don't have that, then it won't load. And as for it crashing, you need to make sure the file is a 513X513 size and in the FH>Media>Terrains folder. If it still doesn't work, let me know and I'll see what else there is. But this should fix it.

Well, when I go onto that height map file on GIMP, it says (MyMapName).xcf-1.0 (Grayscale, 1 layer) 513x513-GIMP
But I know I saved it as a png file and I added Terrain at the end of my map name... but when I save it should I save it as something like: All Images, or All Files or something like that?

Ah, that's the problem, I think. You have GIMP 2.0 or something like that, correct? You can't save anything besides a .xcf file image which only GIMP itself can read. You'll have to export it into a .png. You can also save it (Which I recommend as a back-up file) as a .xcf. :3

Actually, there's an option for exporting a GIMP file to a file on your computer (I read this online) and apparently it's just like saving. Plus, I can save it as a png there and just export it to my FeralHeart/media/terrains folder (that worked). But since I exported the file that was saved as a xcf, I think I should remake the whole thing and start from scratch. Agree?

Yeah, there's an exporting option that's just like saving except you may do it in different ways. (.png, .jpg, .jpeg, etc.) And as for starting over, it's your choice if you want to do that but if you just open the file again and export it as a .png to the terrains folder you'll be fine. c:

And apparently when trying to upload it onto Map Maker, if you press enter, FH will crash... I saw it on a height map tutorial, but is that true? If it is, I think that might be my problem.

Well, personally, that's never happened to me when I do that but it's worth a try. :3

First, delete the alpha channel by right clicking and looking around on the menu thingy that pops up, and make sure it is a .png by using "export". Export it to FeralHeart>>Media>>Terrains. That should work.

I GOT IT!!! I had to completely re-make my height map though... .-. But it was crashing because on my original it was saved as a .xcf.
Thanks for everyone's support and help in this! <3
