Hello all! I've been having a problem recently with the FH map maker. I login, go to map maker, and try to put my terrain height map in the game. It always ends up crashing, and the map is not very complex. I saved it as a png in greyscale and it is 513 by 513. What is going on? Is it the game, or me? I have the newest version of directx, and my OS is Windows 7. Whats going onnnn? :'( All help is greatly appreciated!

What kind of image editing program do you use?
FH terrain maps, for some reason, only seem to work when they're edited with GIMP or Photoshop. So, if you're using Paint or something of the like, this could be the reason for the crash.
I'd try downloading one of these (I use GIMP), and save your heightmap with that program. This should fix your issue, more than likely.
But, if you already use one of these for your heightmaps, you may have some corrupted file in your game, and you may want to try an uninstall/reinstall.
I hope this helps, floof!

Thank you WhiteLightHeart! I do use GIMP to edit, so I will try uninstalling and reinstalling! Thanks again for the help :)

It's no problem, and I really hope you get your heightmap working. ^.^ If not, let me know, and we'll try something else (although an uninstall/reinstall should do the trick).

I reinstalled...it still didnt work! :/ I dont know what Im doing wrong >.<

How odd... Alrighty, then. Try using a different image, one with a much simpler design, and see if that works. Also make sure that you're typing the file name correctly in Map Maker.
This is to test, and just make sure, that it's not your game, and it could just be a corrupted image file causing your issue (possibly).

ITS ALIVE! It worked! :) Thank you :D Could copying and pasting the image into the terrain file, instead of moving it to the terrain file cause problems too?

WOO! Shweet, I'm glad. c8 (And to be honest, after that I had no idea why it wouldn't be working. XD)
But, I'm sure it's worth a shot.
If the new file still glitches with the old heightmap on it, though, I would try editing it a little bit. Try smoothing out any rough terrain in it, so it's a little easier for the game to render, and this should resolve the issue.
I'm glad you got Map Maker working for ya, though. c;
