Title: Help!! FH cannot start up.....
Post by: Ryoodlen on April 08, 2013, 09:53:44 am
Hello.
Please help me. My Feral Heart is downloaded and is fine apart from one thing.
When I click it on my desktop to start it up it opens and when it gets to the bigger screen when it runs the beggining credit things, and you can click to enlarge, it says internet explorer has encountred a problem or something like that.  >:(
So yeah. Then it won't start or anything it just gets to that screen then freezes and you can only cancel it and close it down.

Please help I really want to play.
Thanks.  :)

Try running it as an administrator by right clicking the FH icon and selecting 'Run as administrator'.
If that doesn't work then I've noticed you said you put your window to full screen? try keeping FH to a windowed screen.

You may be experiencing an ogre glitch. If you can get onto the home screen okay, then go to;
Options >> Video >> RenderingSubsystem >> Direct3D9.

If you can't get onto the main menu then follow these instructions:
Local Disk (C:) >> Feral Heart >> ogre (.cfg)
Open the Ogre in notepad or another word document then replace it with this:

Code: [Select]
Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
FSAA=0
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=No
Rendering Device=Monitor-1-Intel(R) HD Graphics
Resource Creation Policy=Create on all devices
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]
Colour Depth=32
Display Frequency=N/A
FSAA=0
Full Screen=No
RTT Preferred Mode=FBO
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No

Save and restart you computer for it to take full effect.

Try these first. If this doesn't help I have plenty more options for you to try - so just reply for more help and I'll help you.

Or maybe your video card or graphic card... If you can't go to main screen, and tried these, does your graphic card support 3D games? (Like Intel).

 Some computers have the needed video card for them to properly run games on them. Perhaps your video card is outdated and or needs to be replaced. When buying a computer, some are meant to be more of work, others have input video cards that run graphic games such as this.

You can also try to log in your computer as administrator and try to adjust your video settings

I guess it is probably a graphics card/video card as I also have trouble with WMM. :)
I'll see what I can do now but do you know how to connect a laptop with windows 7 to a Router?? If so I can use the FH on my laptop if I can get it internet. :D
Thanks!!

 Usually laptops have built in connection chips to pick up any close by Internet connection that might be around the area. If your router is password protected then all you need to do is put the same passcode in your laptop and it will grant you access.

It really depends on what router you have...like I have Netgear. A lot with the router I got I had to upload a software that was with the router, upload it, and enter your protective password, and you have connection.so whatever software came with your purchased router you must put in your laptop
