Hey everyone, am Wanting to do a map so I open Gimp and when I try and save it, It comes up as xcf But you need png so it won't open the File thing. Help Please.

All you need to do when saving it is add .png at the end. For e.g. PartyMap.png and then save it.

It won't let me :( it says You can use this dialog to save to the GIMP XCF format. Use File?Export to export to other file formats. :/

To change the format of a file that you are saving click where it says "File" then "save as" at the top left corner and then select the option I circled in red "All Images" to select the format you want to save it in:

Or as BigBang said you can just type .png at the end of the file name in the space that shows the file's name when you are about to save.

I don't under stand, If you can Explain it Please do it by Step by step. Am New to Gimp 2.8 Like really New.

when I save I: _Hit save, place the name in and put .png at end [ex:Wackoworld.png] _It ask me if I want to mend layers to gather to export [if I have layers] _I hit yes _It saves ._.

Okay I saved as "Feral.png" But when I open Map Maker and type it in, Feralheart Stops Working Help...

Make sure you are typing the name in correctly and also make sure that the map images are flat.
