Title: Game Trouble(Solved, I think o.O May Delete)
Post by: Wolf} on April 19, 2013, 02:22:11 pm
I hate to ask for help so much but my FeralHeart isn't working. Ok so, I go and click on the FH icon like I always do in the morning, my internet tends to be slow in the morning but that never stopped FeralHeart from running. So recently I believe I had connection problems so I click that little box that always comes up for me for a rendering thing or something like that. I click 'Ok' and then the FH window comes up, but a second later it says: 'FeralHeart.exe has stopped working.' and then the game closes. I can't even get to the login screen. Then I go to the website to see if the sever is down or something and I see that it's up. I try again, same thing happens. This is slightly irritating because last night, when I was on FeralHeart was working perfectly. Is there any simple expiation to this problem?
-Thanks

Try looking at your Sky, Particles, and Objects folders in your Feral Heart >Media folder.
Look for any files with _0 or _1 at the end and delete those files.

Also try changing your rendering system at the start up.
You can also run as an administrator by right-clicking the FH icon and selecting that option.

Hope this fixes your problem. c:

If your FH opens up to the main screen then go to Options >> Video >> Rendering subsystem and change it to Direct3D9.

If you cant get to it from there then go to your FH folder found in Local Disk (C:). Open up the FH folder and find a .CFG file that says ogre. Open it up and change it to this:

Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem
[Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem]
Allow NVPerfHUD=No
FSAA=0
Floating-point mode=Fastest
Full Screen=No
Rendering Device=Monitor-1-Intel(R) HD Graphics
Resource Creation Policy=Create on all devices
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600 @ 32-bit colour
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]
Colour Depth=32
Display Frequency=N/A
FSAA=0
Full Screen=No
RTT Preferred Mode=FBO
VSync=No
VSync Interval=1
Video Mode=800 x 600
sRGB Gamma Conversion=No

Save it then restart FH. If it doesn't take effect then try restarting your computer.

EDIT: If you're still having trouble, then there are plenty of solutions here. (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=10423.0)

 It sounds like your having problems with your ogre process. Here's a link that shows you how to try to solve for that

If that's not the case then try shutting down your computer and turning it back on, it does do wonders believe me, make sure your computer is absolutely connected with your router computer .

Good luck hun

Thank you for all that help but sadly, I tried each one of those things and still no luck. It still does the same exact thing. My very last resort would be to re-download because I just finished a map for a Rp but haven't exported yet so if I re-download FH I lose the map and all my progress. Any other way to solve this problem?

 Try and save all of your materials in a folder so that you won't have to go start all over again. Or you can try to finish your map, export it and place it in a safe spot. Once you've re downloaded the game then place your finished map in

It looks like we've tried most everything but uninstalling and reinstalling, floof. However, it can only help your issue. It will assure that any misplaced files are put where they belong.

As Feareh said, you can still save your map in progress and keep it somewhere safe while you uninstall/reinstall the game. To do this, go to your FeralHeart folder >>Media>>Terrains, and then remove the folders that you want to save. Also important, you need to remove the .map file that you want to save, as well. Put them in a separate folder, somewhere else in your computer (let's say your Desktop).
Then, you delete your FeralHeart folder, and reinstall the game.

To put your map back where it belongs, put the map folder and the .map file into Terrains where they were.
Open Map Maker in-game, and your map should be there as it was before you reinstalled FH.

Thank you everybody. But I've learned that I broke the regular FH on my computer but am able to use FH+ so I can continue playing my favorite game! Thank you for all your help!
That is, after I fix the black screen problem.
