Title: How To Fix Your d3dx9 File
Post by: Tenturo on May 05, 2013, 01:13:15 pm
As the title says, you may have experienced this problem.  Well incase you haven't been able to catch the previous ways to fix it, here is what I did and what a friend has tried:

-I just uninstalled most of the unused things on my computer, and it magically returned and worked fine.
-One of my friends uninstalled FH and then reinstalled it, and it worked for her.

How does this problem occur?

Well, when you open FH it will pop up saying something like: file d3dx9.41 (or d3dx9.42) is missing.
It may say some other stuff but that's mainly it.

Got any others known and correct ways to fix this problem? Please share them.

Did you delete COM-PLE-TE-LY the FH folder before reinstalling? Use the disk icon in the folder and then remove the folder, because the thing will not remove EVERYTHING.
Then reinstall!

Very nice of you to make this thread to help people, Woofkita. :3
But I think this should be in the Tutorials section (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&board=85.0) of the forum.

This actually sounds a little like a compilation-type discussion for this type of file. I would almost put it in Game Discussion, but if you plan on creating a compilation of solutions for this particular issue, I think Tutorials might be a best fit for this.
Just remember, Help boards are for people who are asking for help-- but you can refer any of those who need it to a Tutorial link.

Moving to Member-Made Tutorials, and editing title to "How To Fix Your d3dx9 File" so it will match the new section a bit better.
(If you have any objections, though, PM me and we'll get it sorted out for you. ^^")

Thanks Bouncy, and thanks WhiteLightHeart. I couldn't decide which would be better.
