Title: Cross Species Mates

Might as well make one more weird thread before I leave for up to a year. What do you guys think about these kinds of things? My main character is a coyote, so I can (And do) have pups with wolves and dogs. I like to run off in the night never to be seen again after being with a mate for a few days. But i've seen many people have the oddest cross-species mates ever. Wolves and foxes, lions and hyenas, and deer and buffalo. Ever seen anything like this? I know I have. Post what you think of it here.

I have seen a lion and tiger, but ligers are real. I haven't seen any more but they sound plain wrong o-o

I've seen quite a few cross species mates on here like dragons & griffons & a dog with a lioness. I think it's cute and unique for RP sake. It's sort of like interracial relationships in real life. It's often unexpected and out of the regular pairing you usually see and it offers a chance for some fun different kind of RPing.

I admit I would blink a few times and be like "huh?" but I don't see anything particularly wrong with it. There's been a number of other games where people switch up parts/cross over animals/make "impossible" creatures so why should a wolf/lion or lion/hyena or rhino/hippo be any different? We don't criticize when we see chimera characters running around, so why should this matter?

I recall some people who had some very interesting crossbreeds, including one of which who had a feline character with some traces of horse in it. Yes. Horse. And while I admit I found it a little strange at the time, they still had an awesome character. People should not get hung up in the tiny details or realism.

Wait a minute... When did you change your name?! What evil magic has changed you to a muffin?! What evil wizard must I deafeat to make you whole?! Well, that aside, I don't mind them. It can be humorous seeing a zebra and a lion being mates.

I see nothing wrong with two characters of different species coming together to make a totally new species. I've seen a few crosses myself out in the game. In a Warrior Cats roleplay, there is a character that is part cat and part hyena. Odd combination, but it's unique and something different. I have also seen gryphons and dragons pairing up and having little draphons... or whatever you call their offsrping, up in Sky's Rim.
Of course, many of these pairings I see having pups, kits, and cubs wouldn't be able to do so in real life. But in the wonderful world of Feral Heart, nothing is impossible ^3^

I don't mind animals coming together to make a new species, either. I've always thought of it say... something to inspire others in doing it for the sake of creativity, and I think cross-breed or whatever you call it is pretty nice to see around in Feralheart once in a while.
Even if prey and predator come together, I'd say it's pretty nice.
I would actually make a character half gazelle or zebra and half lion right now, it sounds neat. :D
Or even half zebra, half gazelle, half lion and half tiger. Doesn't matter, I think it's creative and inspires a great thing in the game: creativity!
There are ligers and other cross-breeded characters, so we can make other animals like them, can't we? :)
That's just my opinion. ^_^

I know someone who is part whale, unicorn, wolf, lion, zebra, and leopard. It is the funniest looking thing ever.

I have an adopted dragon as my "Pup" I can't see my coyote being mates with a dragon... Unless it's a very small one.

No, I just travel around finding partners or groups to hunt with, or have pups. I have never been in a pack. Nobody from these forums has ever seen me... Excluding mods and admins. I am very secretive. Today might be my last day here for up to a year. You'll have to wait to see me. D: -My second emoticon face ever-

I find it real interesting and amusing of the kind of inter-species animals I've witnessed. I've seen a deer-wolf, so, to that moment, I suppose anything is possible here. After that and reading through the posts, who knows what I may see next.

I personally prefer to be as realistic as possible in my roleplays and character designs (given what it is. I do have many demon characters, but I make them as realistic as possible using facts from the anime they're based off of and things stated elsewhere as well as how realistic it'd be in real life), but if someone else wants to do this sort of thing then go ahead, I suppose. It is a bit strange, though, but not necessarily in a good or bad way.

I will admit, when I was young(er) and inexperienced, I had this wolf character who fell in love with a lion, and the lion with her. And so they became mates. o-o I have yet to Rp such another experience with odd mating couples, but I sometimes see other players in FH with...some strange pairs. xD But still, I honestly don't have a problem with things like this. As people have previously commented on this thread, I find it kind of creative and fun. c:

Well, time to let the cat out of the bag or in this case the vixen and the cats. Usually all my friends whom I role play a lot with are actually all vixens or wolfs or a coyote breed, things amongst that sort. While I like to role play as a male lion, course once in a blue moon i'll go for the canine breed. The reason being it isn't a realistic role play for our characters but rather its a human who has a feral, anthro and human form, with some powers here and there or something to make them different. Lucian for example is actually the first lion character to have a lion female mate, while Typhon my greek character has a yellow vixen mate named Sparrow for his. And no where near height comparison too xD Other than that its a lovely thing to have so many people have so many combinations. And I love it, unless....

If its a realistic or semi realistic, please make it plausible. Only thing I will EVER say that its not okay, and I don't mean a Hyena and a Lion can't be together, nope. If a Lion and a Hyena make a kid in that rp and its suppose to be semi realistic, I'd want to hit them. Just because, how the heck would it survive, one and two, uhm...there's a hyena and lion offspring in the real world? Say what? So yeah, only rule i'd ever say for me really about roleplays with different specie couples.

The weirdest I've seen would be a Lion and a Wolf, though I mainly see the newcomers/members not as experienced with the animals' species, behavior, etc. pair up as this. Quite odd, yes, but I just let the kids have their fun. If they wish to be different, then I have no trouble in letting them. As long as I'm not involved.

I have a character that is a Cheetah/Pronghorn/Seaweed Water Bear/Peregrine Falcon/Smilodon hybrid.
She was genetically engineered and none of those animals actually ever mated together, but still.

I personally like cross species mates. I think it's kind of sweet.
I also like weird hybrids, as you could probably tell.

i think cross breeds are fine! it is creative, fun, and you never know what turns out CX i have a genetically enginered miniature sabor toothed cat, who is starting on making her own warrior cats clan, but the miniature in her is from domestic cats. I can imagine a Lion and a Wolf mating, and how weird that would look... epic B3

I like cross-species role-plays in general. One time, somebody as a joke asked if my alien character Theta could be a lioness character's mate... O.o

I've seen multi species mating before and even experienced it almost firsthand before. My lion character's daughter (a lioness) started seeing a male wolf and dating around with him and they became mates and had a couple lion pups. My character loved them just the same as any other grandchild and didn't care that they were a hybrid between a canine and a feline. He was just happy to be a grandpa because I think that was his first grandchild. ;D

Well, My fursona is a wolf (Camino) and my boyfriend's character is a vampire x demon lion.
He has wolf characters too, but since the feline is his 'fursona' we are often seen as lion and wolf.
Some ferals are fine with it, others like to give us a hard time about it..
But whatever, we love each other and they shouldn't take it too seriously (It's a game after all)
I think some ferals forget that we're all human behind the characters. They'll just have to deal with it.

This cat breed is known as the "Bengal". The first thing you will notice is it looks like a leopard. How do you think this cat came to existence? Cross-species breeding. People took an Asian Leopard and bred it with a domestic cat. What did we get? MINI LEOPARDS THAT WE CAN CUDDLE WITH!!!!!!! YIPPEEEEEE

I myself am a male jaguar that is mates with a female canine called Lassie... We've only been mates for a short time, but I already think that we're a great match in terms of personality.
It's the virtual love that counts~! :D
I personally think it's an interesting thing that can turn out well, whether personally or in rps, if the preference is mutual.

I think it's cute, and nothing is wrong with it. As long as the people together are happy, it's fine. It can be pretty cool to see a lion mixed with a zebra (In which I thought was a Tiger...but then I read their Bio. xD) and it's not like they're bothering me or anything, so why should I care?

I'm one of the creators of the cat/hyena things in the Warrior Cats Roleplay (with much appreciated help from my companions), and I'm truly flattered that those were mentioned! c8
And on the subject of strange mixed-up species, my answer is, why not?
I say, if someone wants to make a character that's a part cat and part dog, or part horse and part donkey, or even part zebra and part lion (anything, basically!) that it's completely up to them, and they should do it if it makes them feel happy about it.

Bengals are not a cross between a cat and a leopard, cats and leopards are much too distantly related to interbreed.
Bengals are a cross between a domestic cat and an Asian leopard cat.
Leopard cats (felis bengalensis) are not leopards (panthera pardus).

I was stumbling through South Pole a couple of years ago when I came across two mates...

One was a Dragon..

The other was a Ram..

It was strange.

Cross species mates like wolf and husky are fine to me, their genetic code is nearly the same.
But like many, I don't really prefer weird mates like wolf or lion. It's just too unnatural. Well, that's my opinion, I still mustn't forget that there are people who really like to think outside of the box.
