As the title asks what kind of character personality do you like to roleplay as?
Some Examples of character types:
-Quiet & serious
-Crazy daredevil
-Saucy Seductress
-Ruthless killer
-Playful & naive
-Wise & revered
-Vengeful & heartless
-Shy & soft spoken
-Clever casanova
-Affectionate & selfless
Some of my favorite character personalities that I love to roleplay as are:
-The hot headed & free spirited young character who always breaks rules for the thrill of adventure or trouble.
-The lone dark and dishonorable traitor who ruthlessly uses and deposes of everyone in his rise to power including his own kin. At first he appears as kind and friendly to everyone but once he worms his way into their hearts his evil intentions begin to reveal themselves... unfortunately too late by the time his victims learn the truth.
-The war torn ,wise, old, and reliable warrior who is willing to sacrifice himself for his kin. Usually the second in command or general and advisor to the leader.
-
Usually I'd say... I don't know. I just make up personalities really. I have a few insane characters though, but sometimes sadness and drama in their lives in some of my characters. I dunno.
Shinru, however, is wise and revered I'd say, perhaps? and can be 'Affectionate & selfless' I guess. c:
Hugrf the gryphon and wolf forms are probably the same too as Shinru... I guess I like that type of personality most of the time for my characters.
I dunno. ^^

Honestly it's hard to decide! I love a lot of personalities in a character, it's what makes them unique. The clumsy and lovable, the herbalist geek that panics when they run out of herbs. But I think I like the style of a social-nut x3 always eager to make new friends, learn new things, and don't really care at all about being a leader. They're always first to step up when a friend is in need, 'cause they just care that much! And with an additional clumsiness and stupidity, they'll be just adorable uguu<3
But are they ever serious?

My favorite types?
The altruist who's only joy in life is to see to it that others are happy and gains a sort of inner strength in knowing that.
The "big sister" who by choice has attempted to take on a role of a "second mother" to her siblings
The looked-down-upon human who either by choice or by force is trying to get back in touch with nature/its animals and is often on the receiving end of the blame for everything mankind has "caused to the environment or animals" [Had a few different chars somewhat like this] More specifically, they are seeking understanding or forgiveness rather than pity or complete mercy.
The tragic character. [Had a few different characters like this too] This character blossomed at the beginning with some kind of hope and just fell through the floor, usually to some terrible end.
The temperamental, terrifying, and vicious characters who just barely skirt the edge of an evil alignment but rather than continue in such a direction, ended up becoming neutral for one reason or another. [I have had two characters like this thus far] They tend not to care when their morals are skewed, neglectful, are not the best parents and tend to pick favorites, territorial, and liable to harm what stands in the way of their aspirations, but not necessarily go out of their way to harm others.
Evil characters who actually have a motive and would rather do their own dirty work than have someone do it for them.
-
My favorite personalities to roleplay are either:
-Totally optimistic, outgoing and social (like my cat character Strait), not really a way to get them to be sad without, you know, going overboard and destroying everything they love, and even then they'll eventually recover
or
-Very serious, rather stoic, sometimes the mean guy (like my character Reithe) - not someone who means any harm, they just don't like to show their emotions much, and oh they might do an evil laugh once in a while.
And roleplaying a timid character who acts a bit childish is always fun too |D
-
Oh Muffin Lord, why must you make this so hard? Hmm, let's see...
-Tyranical leader that often makes the wrong choices in their mad-with-power state (It's quite fun XD)
-Wise young athlete(Katniss! X3) who often goes off alone to think or relax (My fursona is similar to this)
-The clueless derp, who always tries to lighten the mood with cheesy jokes (One of my WC characters)
-The obidient little Leader's pet, always doing exactly what told and honoring the one telling them
I have more...but I'm to lazy to post 'em up right now.
-
The derpy annoying one.
The loving and selfless kind.

Hm...favorite personality. I role-play I wide variety of faces. I used to role-play the shy and quiet character most times, but as I tended to create new characters, new personas arose. Nowadays, I mostly play as the assertive, apathetic, and knowledgeable character. Then from time to time, I will experiment with other personalities, it's always fun.
-
Favorite Personality? Well, I tend to stick with being the quiet and reserved character or the one who's extremely loyal to his or leader and loves impressing others.
It's fun to roleplay different character personalities though. I try to change it up sometimes, try to be the outgoing character everyone seems to associate with within the group. Though, Roleplaying with a crazy character can be very entertaining. :3

These are my favorite personality types:
Fragile with a Strong Heart: I have a few of these characters. A character like this has a strong heart, but a very fragile body. One good example would be Amalthea the unicorn fox. She is a magical animal that goes out of her way to keep the forest and all it's inhabbitants healthy and safe. She has respect for all life, whether it's good or evil. Even though she has magic, she won't use it to bring harm to someone else. She is also a very fragile animal that could easily be broken or killed. She is also shy and would rather flee than fight.
The Shadey Outcast: This character doesn't fit well in a group or a family, and prefers to live the life of an loner. They are considered an outsider due to their loner nature. Members of society view them as different, untrustworthy, and undesirable, because they chose to live alone, or are considered a rogue. This character is also mysterious, quiet, and often times has a stern or unfriendly look. Even though they look sinister, they really pose no threat to anyone. They can't help that they look that way. One of my characters that fits this personality type would be my WC rogue called Burgundy.
The Unlikely Friend: This character is a different species from the friends he or she surrounds him/herself with. This character type does not really descriminate others for what species they are, but rather what their personality is like. This character type is nice, relaxed, willing to listen to their friends problems, etc. My character examples would by Kojak the bobcat, and Kopper fox.
Those are some of my prefered character personalities. But there have been times when I have come across characters that don't go by what the bio says. For example, I once met she-cat queen that was supposed to be the sweet natured, gentle, motherly, with lots of friends, happy-go-lucky type... as what was said in the character bio. But then she met my leader character, Pharaohstar, and did a complete personality change that didn't fit what her character description said. The encounter went something like this... *I used a made up name*
Sweetlilly: -She hissed at the stranger- "If you don't get your sorry carcass out of this territory, so help me StarClan I will cut you open, spill your guts out, and leave you as buzzard food!" she spat.
Pharaohstar (me):"I would just like to have a word with your leader. Is he here at the moment?"
Sweetlilly: "No," she snarled at the unknown leader.
Pharaohstar: "I have a message I have to give to him. If you see him, tell him that Pharaohstar would like to speak with him. It's urgent."
Sweetlilly: -She rolled her eyes- "Whatever," she hissed, walking off.
That wasn't the first time it ever happened. Is it me, or do some people not know how to stay in character? Her bio told me one thing, but then she acted more like some she-devil. :-\ If you're going to play as a sweet, nice, she-cat, DO IT PROPERLY! Otherwise put something like, "personality may vary" in your character bio.

I would have to say my favorite persona to take on would be the devious observer. One whom cares not the fate of others, simply cares to get through the day. My recent character, whom resides in the Bizi Pack of the Galdu-Arima Roleplay owned by Dishonored & Caution likes to watch battles takes place, seeing it as a performance of blood spilling. Of course I wasn't always this way, however when you spend most of your life for a year around people who take on the vengeful ruthless characters with ace precision it's quite difficult not to become infected with the darkness. Thus my outlook on characters changed, slowly growing darker by the day I spent with my roleplay family.
-
My favorite personalities to either view or pull out myself would be one shrouded in utter mysterium and secrecy. Keeping the character quite distant from the others, not really getting close to anyone and keeping to themselves quite often. However, they are also quite insecure about themselves, either carrying a haunting burden or past memories of a hard childhood that often makes them a bit suicidal. However, when they are tampered with, their temper isn't one to easily forget due to the hidden rage that's often bottled up inside of them.
Another personality would be that of a sadist, always angered and full of malevolent emotions. One that brings torment and agony severely onto another. Yet instead of just being a mindless beast, they bestow a keen mind and plan everything ahead instead of blindly charging through. Meaning they gain trusts of their victims in order to grow closer, play coy in front of their superiors in order to seem like an obedient subordinate. Though once their true colors show, you can hardly get them to stop grinning from ear to ear. Similar to a serial killer, simply put.

I'm going to bump this topic up because it's been a while and I'd love to hear peoples' feedback these days. Anyone is welcome to contribute to this discussion.

Must post!
I often like to roleplay like:
-Childish, insane, and playful.
-Smart, calm, and has a dark inner personality.
-Broken, powerful, and enraged.
-Serious, evil, and persuasive.
-Strange, nice, and left out.
-Evil, alone, and underestimated.
And my favorite behaviors of characters are from my most favorite roleplaying characters are:
-The honored one while also being trapped in a group of villains which causes them to be broken since the character is nice but loyal.
-The loyal one in which this one uses violence to get people to follow the rules, they are not very friendly either since they don't really know how.
-The very strange and insane one that is nice at the same time while also being extremely violent towards everyone. But they are still very protective of their relationships and wise at the same time. (That's complex..)
So.. yeah. This is a very interesting topic.

WELLLLLL, this is one I've never really thought about. When I rp, I like to diversify my characters. Obviously, I only ever role-play the sorts of personalities I enjoy. I reflect them in my characters.
So, you have:
River - Authoritative and kind
Arrow - Submissive and playful
Admiral - Threatening and cruel
Paranoia - Goofy and exciteable
...YAY!
-
Hmmm.....
I think I have on character for each, almost.
-Quiet & serious
This would probably be -Checks list- Fereharrrr? WarKat?
-Crazy daredevil
I think.... I've had one character like this, but I can't think of it. These kinds of characters I need more of though.
-Saucy Seductress
.... nothing here surprisingly enough.
-Ruthless killer
Not my type, honestly. Some of my characters are violent yes, but they are not killers by nature. It'd only be if it was down to the wire or they were ordered to do so.
-Playful & naive
N E E Y A
ALL THE WAY
THE ADORABLE FRICKING IGNORANT
HNNNN I LOVE EM
-Wise & revered
.... WarKat. Paws down. Ish.
-Vengeful & heartless
WarKat again. Although Ferehar fits the bill more.
-Shy & soft spoken
Probably Tina Marie or someone like Meeyu.
-Clever casanova
Akier.
There is no contest.
-Affectionate & selfless
Tina, Neeya, and possibly Meme.

Most of my characters are a bit on the weird side.
Dr. Twisted: Dark, intelligent taciturn
Zucca: Mischievous fun-lover
Codon: Quiet, serious and strong
Akull: Kind and lazy
Faisal: Ambitious Casanova
I think that's all for my major characters. Of course they're more complex than just the given attributes, but overall, that's who they are.
-
I like the characters who are innocent but have gone through terrible things, but they try to put their past behind them. (Turtle, Annie, Rafej, Digger) I also like having characters with pretty unlikable personality traits (Duni's overall boringness and hotheadedness; Dyce's lack of a sense of a humor)
-
Jeez. Taking a look at the above people's character lists is slightly intimidating...I don't have that many characters._.
I think the personality types of my characters (that I roleplay with) change too often, and I can't pin-point the specific types. Although, recently, I've been roleplaying the: Quiet and Serious; Wise and Reserved; Shy and Soft-spoken; Clever Casanova; Misunderstood Intellect; and Careless Daredevil.
-
My main characters would be:
Bartholomew, who's scared, nervous, and antisocial, and for some reason really angry,
Lucifer, who's a politician and a manipulator,
Maggie, who's a trickster,
Jibril, who's kind but refuses to get off their high horse,
Slugwhisker, who's a grouchy old man cat
Those would be the personalities I use the most, everyone else seems to be a repeat with a few tweaks, aside from one or two unique characters. I'm kinda horrible at thinking of new personalities (that I enjoy playing, I can think of them but they bore me)
-
- Vicious / Aggressive
- Determined / Courageous / Brave
- Unique / Special
- Strong / Fast / Talented
- Leader / Queen
- Lazy Butt
- Intelligent / Clever / Sneaky
-
I usually play a sweet and caring character, or, when I'm bored, I'll play a pride-obsessed jerk who cares about nothing but himself. <: I'm also seen playing a few other personalities, maybe the snarky, sarcastic type and then there's always the quiet, anti-social type. It depends what type of mood I'm in, how I'll base my character's personalities.
-
New favorite personality.
-Suspicious and seems to be evil, yet as delicate and thorny as a rose. Once you get to know them they are very kind, sort of like the Cheshire Cat however more nice and aware of others.
-
I prefer roleplaying as a character that has my shy and soft-spoken personality, but also they may possess a bit of madness or "has some screws loose" tied into it.
For example, Wolfie. She has the shy characteristic, but she also has a tendency for nightmares and a couple voices here and there. Nothing too drastic. There is a must for intelligence in my characters, even though I don't consider myself all that smart.
-
In all honesty at times it would vary for me. It would be between:
~Quiet and Serious
~Playful and naive
~Wise and Revered
~Shy and Soft Spoke
~Affectionate and Selfless
Those would be my usual when role-playing.
-
After some time, I can add that I'm starting to like playing characters that are pretty dimwitted or average. While experimenting character personalities I don't usually think about, I've started to like being the wondering idiot or the average character who develops traits later on instead of having them right away.
-
Honestly, the most used persona for my characters is the cold and distrustful kind. They're typically emotionless and refuse facial expressions, actions, etc. and usually suck at body language... just because it's fun to roleplay them unraveling and just gradually becoming an overall nicer being.
I will admit, though, that I have a couple of characters that give off that sweet, innocent aura but when you really get down to it, something dark's on their mind about 80% of the time... *coughs* my warrior Koda.
-
I definitely love the kind of personality that is outgoing, protective, strong, and witty. These are the traits of my main FH character, Deja. uvu
-
Oh boy favorite character types? in no particular order.
1) Apathetic, self serving youth forced to grow up to fast, lacking compassion for almost everything/one
2) A flirt who likes to behave like a gentleman but is really a self important jerk who cares little for the feelings of others.
3) Someone who was forced to stop being a happy and easygoing simpleton by tragedy and "grew up".
4) A passive aggressive and strongly opinionated bigot.
5) One who would be compassionate but is afraid of being used.
I really like emotionally/psychologically damaged jerks, mostly because I myself can't function on a normal human level emotionally and find others sorta like me easier to understand.
-
Ah... my two characters I've RPed with count, right?
If so... The boy who's god-awfully nervous around people due to a bad upraising, but still has a curious nature that hasn't yet been broken and is most likely the one reason he hasn't become a lone wolf or hermit.
Along with the violent and self-centered alien who only stops to smell the roses for the purpose of sating curiosity or to ward off the inevitable boredom that sets in after mercilessly slaughtering some woodland creature for being irritably yappy.
