Title: IceCub's converted Heightmaps of real places :3
Post by: ShelbyRB on July 09, 2013, 03:28:53 am
Hi everyone! I thought I would share some of the heightmaps of real locations that I converted from Google Earth.
(Not sure if this is the correct thread to post under)
Here are just a few, but I can make some more if anyone has any requests.

If you need them in greyscale I can package them all up. I don't think it saves them as greyscale if you just save my image...not sure.

Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania

These look like they'd be wonderful maps! Did you turn actual screenshots into grayscale, or did you use a reference yo draw them yourself? Either way, I must day they look gorgeous. What a beautiful place we live in...

I used a few different programs to convert specific regions into heightmaps and then saved them into photoshop as greyscale  ^_^

Those are some awesome height maps. I hope you're planning on making them perhaps real maps sometime? Yes? No? Either way, I like it. -Nuzzles.-

Nice job with figuring that out ;) The idea of a Rhode Island height map just popped into my head, if you'd ever like to do it. (Wouldn't need to be an actual height map, I'd just like to see a picture)

These height maps look lovely IceCub! I can't wait to see what they'll look like when, or if you decide to actually turn them into maps. ^w^

Oi, may i ask something?
How did you do to resize (spelling!?) the image? .w.
I already know how to convert the images to Grayscale on GIMP, since it's pretty similar to Photoshop.

Neverminnnd~ Already found out how to. xD
