Title: Issues with loading the height map
Post by: JGree on July 16, 2013, 07:02:12 pm
In GIMP, I created a height map for the game. It was:

I also made a terrain mask for the map.

I went to the Map Maker ----> World and entered the name of the height map (WinterscapeTerrain.png) exactly as it is spelled, but the game said it could not find my png file. I entered the terrain mask and it appeared on my screen just fine.

Can anyone help me?

Make absolutely sure that the image is Grayscale, 513x513, etc. If you were right and everything is correct, check your spelling again. Make sure you've exited all windows using that image such as Gimp or My Documents. I remember having that problem once, but I'm not at my computer to tell you my exact solution. If none of this helps then perhaps someone else can give you better information ;)

I'm not really sure why it isn't working to be honest, but usually what i do if my heightmaps aren't working is, find the file called 'watermill.png' in your terrains folder, and copy and paste your heightmap over that and then save it. It usually works for me. x3

Thanks to both of you. I'll try what you said.

I checked my spelling and closed my documents, then tried again.
Pasted my heightmap over watermill.png.

Unfortunately, neither worked...

I'm wondering if there is perhaps a problem with my computer itself.
