I was thinking maybe there could possibly be a way to shut off Mods while in group chat or have them restricted to one area, because when role playing sometimes we get all this red text from a Mod who's answering questions or something and it kind of disrupts the role play. Anybody have any opinions?
-
I honestly don't think so. Because what if the Mod has to tell you something? You wouldn't be able to see what the Mod is saying. It may be annoying to you, but it's part of keeping the game safe to users.
-
I understand it is but for those of us role playing its a tad annoying to see red text talking about random stuff pop up in the middle of an RP , least from my opinion it is a little bit. Dunno about other people though.
-
I don't find it annoying at all, after all, mods are there for a reason.
-
Not like a certain group per-se but like you would have the option of turning them off....yeah that probably wouldnt work. :p
-
If you could turn them off, then rule-breakers could easily just ignore them, and we don't want that >xD
-
Oh no of course we dont! XD

While reading this, I got another idea. Maybe the mods can choose whether they want to talk in red or in normal mode. So, when they talk with their friends, they can use normal mode, and when they do their mod-job they can just turn on the red font mode.
Maybe that would be helpful.

Good idea Thunder. I do dissagree with the turn the Mods off thing. As said above, it would be easier to break rules.

I do like the idea, but as I read before, the admins don't want users to bug mods/admins. So, they keep them behind the MOD## text (without the username. The ## Is like a code. I think.). ;P And with all the people who bug the mod who speaks, I have to understand why they do that.
Sorry if I'm wrong! D:

Agree with Teal ?
And i agree with Sylph too ?
And that was a good idea Thunder ?

I think, most of the time a mod use their "mod talk", it's actually to inform someone, or help out with questions. Though I'm sure one or another thing might be added into the chat, or they just want to lighten up the mood.
But if the mods are talking random things constantly into the chat for a longer time. They are using the fuction in the completely different way.
I have witnessed this before, and it's "kind of" wrong if you ask me. If they want to talk random stuff for a longer time into the chat, they might aswell use the regular chat like everyone to be honest.
Not only because everyone will have to read it, but mostly because when using it in a big place like flourite. People go crazy and just spam the chat with random talk just to get contact with the mod. Not that much about getting an answer anymore.
However, there's probably alot of different ways where the line should be for something like this. But I guess there's alot more things to worry about than the mod talk xd.
But as thunder said. If the mods somehow would be able to choose if they'd talk into general, or just local. Still having the red font. Not everyone would need to see the text. Might be useful.
Overall, I personally think the text work very well right now. But I'd understand if it was annoying when having a roleplay. But if the roleplay is getting frequent, and just not some random one threwn together in bonfire. Why not get a custom map for it?
Oh well.

Actually this does not happen much anymore. Most MOD control I come across goes over whisper or simply the ban/kick if the person needs no notification of the issue. I have only seen red MOD messages once during ky FH days and that was my first day in bonfire. So it seems to happen much less.
