I have had FH for 2 years now and lately every time I get on five minutes later the message "Could not connect to map server" or "Disconnected from map server" pops up. It offers for me to retry but it ends up never loading it. I have no idea if it is the game or my internet and this has been happening for months, and I have been hoping that it would fix itself but of course it didn't. I did change routers, could that be a part of any of this?:( Please help me!

Hmm. Sometimes the server can be a bit grumpy. However, if it's been going on for months, that is quite strange. I'm afraid the only advice I can give is if you change your rendering system before you launch it from Direct3D9 to OpenGL or vice versa.
I hope I offered at least a hint of help and I wish you luck.
Also, has this been happening every time you get online or every now and then at random?

Its every time I log on. And how do I change the rendering system?

Hmm. I asked for what you're experiencing happens to the lot of us if it's the server that's the problem. It all depends on the server really. For instance, if you log in and play in-game for a while then every so often you get a 'Failed to connect to front server' or 'Disconnected from map server', then that's just normal and it's basically the server being a little troll.
To change your rendering system, it should pop up when you first click on your Feralheart icon on your desktop. However, if it doesn't, then click on it simultaneously two or three times in order to launch more than one game. When you do that, a pop up will show, looking like this:

Click on the arrow pointing down next to the 'OpenGL Rendering Subsystem' and an option below it should say 'Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem' (or vice versa if you're already using the Direct3D9 subsystem). Merely click on that option then launch the game and see if anything changes.

When I click the arrow the only option that shows is the Direct3D9 subsystem, and that is the one i already use.

Hmm, then all I can say is contact one of the Staff and see if they'll have some additional advice for you, for I do not know precisely how to solve your situation other than what I already suggested. Here, click on the link below to see all who's a Staff member:

Again, I wish you luck and perhaps others will view this thread and post some additional solutions for ye'.

So I figured out how to change my rendering subsystem from OpenGL to Direct3D9 and that improved how long I could play before I was disconnection but only by 3 minutes or so. It didn't solve the problem. Any other suggestions?
