Title: Meshes? Maps?
Post by: LateRegret on September 13, 2013, 11:14:59 pm
Alrighty, so, I'm making my first map. I understand the process of the map-making itself, but I'm wondering if you were to download a mesh, where would you put it? (Exports, media, etc.) Also, if a mesh without a texture were to be downloaded, would it be easy to combine the texture on that mesh as well?

*Thank you for taking your time to read this*

To download a mesh go into the downloaded folder and put the textures, .material and .mesh into Feralheart>media>objects>my_objects

As for your second question I don't really know what you mean by combine...?

As Hugrf said, downloaded meshes all go into your my_objects folder.

For your second question, yes, you can add textures to meshes without a texture.

Load that mesh in Object Maker and in the Mesh tab just type in the Material box. Unless you know what the texture is called (example: rockMat, WaterFallMat) then you need to open the .material file with Notepad.

Okay, I figured out about getting them in there. (Thank you. c:) I'm  having trouble with getting the items to be solid, though. (Like, as if you could stand/sit on them.)

Load the mesh in Object Maker and in the Mesh tab there is a box called Own Collision. You need to check it and then your character should be able to sit/stand on it. Make sure you save it afterwards :)

So it's supposed to right on the spot? Cause it seems as if it's not working. Is there an extra step to it?

You have to select the object first so there are some white lines in the shape of a box, then check the Own Collision box, then make sure you save the object xD
