I don't know a lot about this, but I believe you need GIMP or Photoshop.
(I really don't know anything, but every little helps, right?)
Hope you get better advice than from me!

Well, first you need to be able to work with a .MESH importer. The latest version of the OgreXMLConverter can convert a .MESH file back to a .MESH.XML file that can then be imported in some modeling tools via an Ogre Importer, e.g. Blender
I'm going to assume that after you export it, it's going to be a .MESH.XML and you're going to have to reverse the process by converting it from a .MESH.XML to a .MESH file.

I found a question about this on the Ogre3D forums.

Quai -> I think you may have gotten slightly mixed up ^^; GIMP and Photoshop are programs that are used for editing/creating textures and image files, not 3D model files.

Hope I helped.

I did see a thread a while ago saying you needed something like Photoshop or GIMP for the 3D model, but I was new then so it may have become distorted in the void that is my brain. xD
