I'm trying to make a preset for someone but their username has "." and ":" in it, and it keeps saying 'failed to export preset', so I don't have any idea how to get the preset to be useable....
-
This is irritating... Do they have another account? And I am not sure if exporting the preset from your computer directly to their account would work, I believe they need the whole file from MyPresets.
-
As long as you type their username in the username field you can export it as their preset and they can use it.. I have before. But he doesn't have another account, so there's no other username I could use for it. Plus it's for a specific character of his in a roleplay. :I I'm just not sure what to do... It'd suck if he can't use presets at all 'cause of his username. Plus I already spent like 7 or 8 hours making it before I realized I can't export it....
-
Adding on, make sure everything is in the file, for example. Preset_10...
-
What do you mean by that? All the images to the preset are in the right file, it just won't export. I assume because the username has a : in is, and you can't put : in file names... But without that he can't use the preset 'cause it won't show up as his and let him use it I think.
-
Well, still try sending them the folder, it may help. Sorry that's all I can think of...
-
Another reason a preset has failed to export is cause of a coding error. I would recheck your notepad coding and make sure everything is good. make sure your saved files match up with the coding you have for it
-
It's not a coding error, I've checked it multiple times... Also if I put my username in the username field and then export it, I can and it works fine. It's just with his username it won't export... I sent him all the files for the preset, but I mean, that's not going to help at all because he can't export it as his so he can't use it... So how do I fix this? :c Or am I just going to have to tell him he needs to make a new account JUST to play his character with a preset on it...?

Failed to export because of the : symbol. If you've ever tried naming a file with that symbol, you'd discover it was disallowed by your computer.
Since it is not possible for FH to add that into the file, and it has no replacing system, then yes, your friend cannot use presets on said account.
They need a username that a file can support the naming of.
Hope that helps a bit. c:
