Hidden away from human kind is a world of animals unknown to them. A special place of for the most part, peace. Nature goes on how it should be without human interference. For years upon years this world, known as Sonazea, was free of human destruction. But now the borders held up by magic are falling apart. It is said that Sonazea was build by a group of Magic Users who used a now unknown but powerful spell to keep humans and most animals out. The only way to keep Sonazea safe is to gather up more Magic Users and rebuild the borders. But what about the spell to be used? There are many tales about the protection spell and many clues left behind but can it be found? It must! Or else Sonazea will fall under the human's grasp.
This is a remake of a roleplay. But we are going to start over, just have the same plot.
The Legend
It is said that five animals once came together hundreds of years ago. Two wolves, who were mates. One had a grey coat while the other had a black one, a Cross Fox, a Barn Owl and a BEW (Black Eyed White) dumbo rat. These animals saw the damage the humans were starting to make, and they would only make things worse. They believed that the humans would ruin the world and the animals would be punished for their crimes along with them. So by using the power now known as magic they created a spell that would protect a large area from the humans. But it was flawed, some animals were not allowed though while others were. They ruled over the land they called Sonazea. But they did not seek power for themselves. They ruled to protect the animals within the borders of Sonazea and keep the borders up. But everyone has a lifespan. The rat was the first to go. Even though rats can only live for about two years this rat lived about fifteen because of his power. Next the owl in a battle to protect a nest of newborn racoons. The Cross Fox went next, killed in his sleep by a traitor. The two wolves died together of old age. But the world went on without them, many have forgotten the story. It is said these animals lived in a temple known as the Temple Of Magic which holds the spell they used to protect Sonazea.
Rules
No powerplay or mary sues.
Don't play as a character that is not yours.
Don't be your own mate or offspring, its boring. You may be your own kin however.
You can be any breed, even made up ones as long as they are not humanoid.
No cussing, even if they are blocked out.
No killing or seriously hurting someone's character without asking.
No limit to characters, just make sure you can play them all.
Whenever I make these kind of roleplays it gets filled with wolves. Be creative! It doesn't have to be a made up breed, just don't cover this place with wolves!
Magic Rules
Even if you character does not use magic, read this.
Each user is limited to their own strength. Each spell used will take energy from the user until the task is finished. If a spell is used that is too strong it can kill the user.
A Magic User can attack others with their mind. You do not need to use Magic to know how to defend yourself against these attacks. More detail will pop up throughout the roleplay.
Energy is the power for all spells. Energy is made simply by the body naturally to keep it going. Food and rest. When your low on Energy you will feel tired. If all the Energy is used the user will die.
Normal magic works best in the light and at day time. 'Dark' Magic works best in the dark and at night. Dark Magic is NOT EVIL. It is often used my nocturnal Magic Users or Users that spend a lot of time in the shadows.

There are two groups both going to the Temple of Magic. Both groups are on the same side, however they do not know about each other. They will meet later in the roleplay.

Welcome back! I have to get to bed so we can wait for more people to join while I sleep. :)
By the way, there isn't a portal to Sonazea. The spell keeps people from simply walking toward it. When they get near they will always get distracted or think of something they need to do. However some animals are unaffected and just walk right in. That is why 'normal' animals like foxes or wolves are in Sonazea.

Snow Shoe sat on the pebble based beach along a slow river. His eyes were closed and his sliver tipped tail lay on his front paws. It slowly moved up and down like a content cat.

OOC: ok :)
IC: Watcher was sitting in the water upstream, out of sight around a bend. His eyes were shut tight as he concentrated, still as stone. Slowly, the water around him began to spin, sending out strange waves downstream. His eyes squinted and he opened them slowly. As soon as he did, the water stopped and flowed normally again. Watcher sighed and waded back ashore.

Snow Shoe stood and opened his pale eyes. He heard the sudden speed of the water. Even though it quieted he could feel the magic that was used to create it. Curious, he decided to walk upstream in hopes of finding the magic user.

Watcher was bored right now. For once, he wasn't hungry, as he'd found an abandoned deer kill in the woods. He plodded over to the water and dabbed at the surface, creating small images formed of ripples and light.

Because of his untenability to see Snow Shoe had to cast out his thoughts to sense any magi users. Unfortunately the user would be able to sense him as well and may think he is attacking them. Because of this, Snow Shoe searched carefully.

Watcher felt the prodding touch of another mind. He froze, shutting his eyes and immediately blocking his mind of all telepathic channels.

Snow Shoe withdrew to himself as soon as he felt resistance in his search. Before continuing he cased a simple spell that would protect himself from any ranged object. So no one could hurt him by throwing a rock at him. That was one of his weaknesses, he couldn't see if any non living object was coming toward him. He hoped the spell could not come of use. He moved carefully upstream, now using his sense of smell to pinpoint the animal, of which he guessed was a male wolf. Snow Shoe was sure he would be able to find him now that he was close to him and that the wolf had been alerted.

Watcher stood knee-deep in the river, which was actually belly-deep for him considering he was a runt. He looked around cautiously, freezing when he saw a large Vorox coming up the river. Watcher swallowed. One lash of that tail and he would be a dead wolf.

Snow Shoe was much bigger than Watcher and he knew that he would be at least a little worried about him being nearby so he adopted a friendly pose. It wasn't the way Vorox showed it, but a wolf would be able to tell. For example, if a wolf lowers his tail he is showing his rank as an omega. But if a Vorox lowers his tail he is saying he doesn't want a fight and is friendly. Snow Shoe did not want the wolf to think he was an omega. He lifted his tail just a bit so it wouldn't touch the ground and allowed it to sway softly. His ears would pointed forward but not straight up because that would be wolf speak for 'I am alpha'. Snow Shoe found it strange for him to be like this and telling others he was a friend because this same pose would be a threat for Vorox. The tail raised meant that they are readying themselves to attack.

Watcher cocked his head at the animal. This was odd, he'd had no idea Vorox knew wolf poses so well. He could see a milky film over the animals eyes, so he knew it was blind, and giving visible signals would be pointless. "What do you want?" He whuffed warily.

"Someone has been using magic on the river, I am looking for that someone," Snow Shoe said softly. He had indented to stay in one place but a natural stronger wave of water passed through the river and soaked both the pebbles and his paws. Out of instinct he jumped backward and pulled back his ears.

Watcher gulped and mentally strengthened his little telepathic blockade. "What for?" He growled.

Snow Shoe sighed deeply before be spoke. He noted that the barriers around the wolves mind had strengthened as if he felt threatened.
"The barriers that protect us from the outside world are waring down. I am looking for magic users to help me find the old spell and strengthen the barriers again just like how it was made several hundreds of years ago." He said.

Watcher swallowed. Now he was in conflict, he loved this paradise, had ever since he had somehow stumbled upon it. It let him practice his magic in peace. He didn't trust this vorox though, a tiny runt like him would make an easy meal for the powerful creature, blind or not. "I will join you." He growled warily at last. "But I'll be watching."

Snow Shoe nodded and smiled warmly. It did not bother him that the wolf didn't trust him. He didn't trust the wolf ether but he hoped that he could someday.
"My name is Snow Shoe, yours?" He asked as he side stepped to move farther away from the river simply because getting his paws wet had unnerved him.

Snow Shoe sat down and curled his tail around his body so the sliver tip sat on his paws, glinting in the sunlight.
"Currently I am just looking for others to come with me, then we will go to the Temple Of Magic. It is said to hold the protection spell. Once it is found we would go to the edge of Sonazea and bring the borders back up." He explained.

Watcher looked down at the rivers surface, blinking as he stared into it's depths. "So what now?" He asked.

Snow Shoe blinked slowly, he thought he had already explained 'what now'. But he said he again in case he wasn't clear.
"We need to find other magic users while making our way to the Temple of Magic. Then when it comes close to night we look for a den." He said.

"Alright." Watcher said. "Wait here one minuet." He vanished into the woods, and reappeared much later lugging a large rib from the deer carcass, still thick with meat.

Snow Shoe could smell the meat that Watcher had pulled out.
"I am not hungry, you have it," He said.

Seems its only the two of you, hope I can liven things up a bit, please let me know if my character is good enough. Gonna use a fantasy animal if you dont mind. Dragon to be exact but ill just go ahead and do the little form thing. :P

Info On Breed: Dragon sizes vary depending on the area the dragon is from however, with the use of magic, size changing is not a problem.
Description: Pride is small, about the size of a medium sized wolf. His wings span about 5 feet from wing tip to wing tip. His leathery wings allow him to fly better however do not provide much protection. His scales are black in color with blue markings spanning his body. His tail follows behind him, approximately 4 feet in length.
Personality: He is shy at first. Pride prefers to avoid fighting, but will if the need arises. He is very defending of friends and those who are close to him.
History: Pride was born near the ocean on a beach. All dragons are taught the basics of magic from birth however it is up to them to continue their search for the knowledge and secrets of magic. Being used to the cool touch of the ocean, and swimming deep under its embrace, Pride prefers the darkness and is accustom to the cold. He doesnt remember much of his past, nor how he ended up in the land of Sonazea

Pride....Pride.... The name continuously repeated in his mind. Suddenly he awoke, startled. Sunlight ebbed its way through the tree leaves, beaming into his now open eyes. He felt panicked. He quickly looked around, trying to catch his bearing, trying to figure out where he was. He tried to think back to the events that led him to such a place, but to no avail. The only thing he remembered was one word that kept on floating around in his head. Pride. "Pride..." he whispered to himself in a hoarse voice, seemingly unused for so long. He felt a connection to that word and knew that it was his own. "Pride," he repeated once again "My name...is Pride"

Snow Shoe shrugged. "If you want to drag that along no ones stopping you. But I am not slowing up just because it is wearing you down." He said.
Marten flew close to the ground. He wasn't used to the sunlight in his large eyes and was scared of the consequences of being out at daytime. He had no idea what animals were awake at this time or which ones would eat him. He found that to be pretty important. He had taught himself to fly, so his ability was poor and he couldn't fly too high because of his fear of falling or being pushed around by the wind. He moved from place to place and never had a home forever. Today he couldn't find a resting place.

OOC: Okay, thank you. Yes I did read what has happened already. I will use the little paragraph that I wrote earlier with my character and just start from there heh. And yes he is primarily a dark magic caster however he is able to perform both. Pride just prefers the dark but he is used to both.
IC: Pride glanced around looking for any signs as to where he was or what he was doing here. He heard a soft rustling sound, perhaps the sound of wings, coming from one direction, and he smelled the sweet aroma of meat coming from another. Pride was unsure what to do from there and decided to further inspect the skies in hopes of finding where the sound was coming from. In the distance he could see a small creature flying around and was unsure if it could see him.

Marten's tiny wings just couldn't hold him up any longer and he was forced to land on a low branch of a tree. If he had flown correctly he would have been able to fly longer. He looked at the tree he was on but wasn't able to find a place to sleep. He looked around for any danger, that's when he spotted the dragon. He never seen a dragon before and had no idea what it was, or more importantly, what it ate. His feathers flattened down on his side, making him look even smaller.

Pride watched the Owl fly then land in a nearby tree. As the owl finally realized that he was there Pride simply continued to watch it. Pride tilted his head, confused as to what the owl was doing when he saw it begin to look smaller. "Uh...Hello..." Pride said to the owl, unsure of what else to do.

Description: Simon has thin light tan fur. He has several different scars that show through to his robotic insides, making it clear he isn't flesh and blood. He has the typical red eyes.
Personality: Simon doesn't talk much. He always has an expression like he is thinking out a long math problem in his head. He cares deeply for his packmates, especially his two best friends, Jake and Snow Shoe. He is a strong fighter but only fights for a good reason.
History: When he was young he was used for experiments. In one test he was able to escape, but he lost his memories. Having never been out in the wild he was a easy target for predators. But he has cared for by Snow Shoe and stayed by his side his whole life. Even though Snow Shoe was blind he made him his second in command in his pack. But after a huge attack on the pack again Simon is alone. But now he knows everything there is to know on living in the wild. His main concern is finding his packmates again.

"There were a group of magic users that have trained their whole lives. There were two wolves, a grey one and a black one who were mates. A fox and a horned owl, they were a dark magic users. Some say there was even a rat with them. They saw the damage humans were making and worked together to create a spell that would keep them out of a part of the world. They believed that someday the humans would ruin the planet and there should be a place for animals to hide and survive. They lived together in the Temple of Magic while experimenting with magic to find the spell. The meant it to only keep out humans and let in any type of animal. But over the years humans bred animals and made different animals. For example they took wolves and made hundreds of breeds of dogs. It would be very unlikely that they could get here because they did not exist at the time and wouldn't be included. It makes sense that you would be able to cross the border because two of the creators of Sonazea were wolves and they would defiantly want their own kind inside. It is said that they hid away the spell in the temple in cause the borders weakened. But the doors would not open for anyone. They had to only want to protect Sonazea. Not to find more power for them self." Snow Shoe said as he walked.

Snow Shoe looked back at Watcher and smiled. It was clear why he had be picked on. The wolf was clearly a runt. Snow Shoe himself was a bit smaller than other Vorox because of his Snow Vorox half which was the smallest breed. No one made fun of him in a long time though because who would go and pick on the second in command of their pack?
"There were five who made the barriers, but since they are already up and just need to be strengthened we shouldn't need that many." He continued.

"Alright." Watcher said. "So all we would need is maybe two more magic users?"

"Yes, but it would be better for more since this is a powerful spell and needs a lot of energy to make. Even if they are not magic users they can lend that." Snow Shoe said.

"Alright." Watcher whuffed, still talking around his bone. "I don't know any energy-sapping spells though, never needed them, and honestly, they give me the creeps."

"Then you have never used a spell that does much of importance. Everything needs energy to move along. Without it the world would die out. A spell is just the same. You have been using your energy for your spells just you use the small spells that does just much so you don't notice." Snow Shoe explained.

"I think I heard about five words of that, but I get the gist." Watcher said. "But importance is really rated by the individual user, I have need for spells some think are worth absolutely nothing."

"I guess your right, importance is different for each person." He said. He continued to walk even with his eyes closed, it didn't make a difference to him.

IC: Watcher grunted his agreement, following behind. He found it odd that he was walking behind a Vorox and not dead yet, but SnowShoe seemed friendly enough.

Small drops of water dropped on Snow Shoe's thin pelt. His pulled pack ears when back even farther. He hated the rain, he hated water all together. It was a normal fear for Vorox. He quickened his passe until they made it to a thin forest. He slowed then. With his nose to the ground he checked all of the trees he past until he found the correct one. He pulled away moss until the opening showed under the tree. Inside wasn't too big. The walls were made of dirt and held up by the roots of the tree.
"It isn't much, but it took awhile to make." He said.

Watcher blinked, looking around. "It'll do for now. I've slept in worse." He said, putting his bone down and curling up in a corner with a paw on it.

Snow Shoe sat at the opposite side of the 'den'. It wasn't night time just yet but he didn't have any drive to go out in the rain. But maybe he could learn more about his traveling partner now.
"I have never been outside of Sonazea, what is it like?" He asked.

Watcher, who had been dozing off, blinked awake at this question. "What is it like? Hmm..." He thought a moment, and answered. "There are high mountains with lakes and rivers and valleys, just like Sonazea, but there are also human settlements. High, towering structures made of shiny stone, with walls you can see through. There are fast machines and drive on paths of gravel, and sharp saws that can cut right through the trunk of a sycamore." Watcher paused. "There is no magic, magic is actually considered evil there, especially Dark Magic. Any magic practicers will be hunted down and killed."

Snow Shoe was surprised, he knew humans were bad, why else would they be kept out. But killing just because someone could use magic? He saw no reason for any to do that.
"But why? Does magic scare them?" He asked.

"Magic scares everyone." Watcher growled. "Including animals besides the humans."

"Then you must have had a hard time. At least your here now, no one sees magic users as freaks. Some may be afraid of it because they don't got it. But you wont be killed over it." Snow Shoe said as he laid down, curling his tail around so it rested beside his nose.

"Yeah. Now I have a question." Watcher said, fiddling with the sapphire necklace he wore. "What's it like to have a tail filled with poison?"

Snow Shoe smiled and his tail tapped the ground softly in front of him.
"Just like how it feels to have a tail without it. But it is worrisome to have it because if I cut it in the right place I could kill myself with it. I am not immune to it or anything." He said.

"Well." Watcher said. "That must be scary, I'll be happy I'm not a vorox."

"Nah, its good too. No one wants to be hit by you. So no one in their right mind is going to mess with you." Snow Shoe said.

Watcher snorted. "I guess." He nibbled on the rib, careful to save the meat.

"We should be looking for anyone who is nocturnal who will join us. But I hate water, I just can't go out there." Snow Shoe said.

"Really." Watcher mused. "I love water. I found one spell thet lets you conserve oxygen, it was really useful to be able to dive into lakes and stay under far longer than any other wolf when running from others."

"All Vorox are scared of water, it is just something I am born with. Whenever I touch it I think I am going to be sucked up by it and drowned." Snow Shoe said.

When Snow Shoe woke he streched out and yawn, showing metallic teeth that glinted in the dim sunlight.

Watcher yawned and grumbled, rolling over on his back. He stretched and got to his paws, ruffling the feathers behind his ear as he scratched. "Mor'in alre'dy?" He mumbled.

Snow Shoe stood and shook the dirt from his thin pelt.
"Feels like it." He said. He couldn't really say it looks like it since he couldn't look at anything. He knew it was morning because of the sunlight warming him.

"Wow." Watcher breathed, peeking out. "I wish you could see this. The sunrise's beautiful."

"Nah," He breathed. "I do envy you. Seems much better to see than to not." Snow Shoe said as he moved toward the opening.

Watcher left a little guilty at pointing out his blindness like that, but pushed it aside. "I don't know." He said, picking up his rib and following.

"Don't know what?" He asked. He stepped out of the den and breathed in the fresh air.

Pride chuckled at what Marten had said, "Well im obviously a....a..." Pride stopped to think for a while, a look of confusion stuck on his face. "Honestly....I dont know anything really, not even what I am....What are you?" He asked curiously.

IC: "Which is better, blindness or sight, I wouldn't really know." He clarified.

"How would we know? I have never seen and you have never been blind. There is nothing to compare." Snow Shoe said.
Marten hooted, clearly amused.
"I am an owl of course. A small one, but an owl all the same." He said.
Simon was up early, so early that he watched the owls and other nocturnal animals get to bed. He didn't have time to sleep. He only needed a rest to keep him going. He had a set goal and he wasn't going to get detracted by anything until it was done, well, just a little. As soon as he lost his pack he spent all his time looking for his packmates, he was the leader after all. He needed to care for his members as much as he could. But now he learned the borders were breaking up. Even though he wasn't looking for his packmates, he was still helping them by keeping the borders up and keeping their home safe. He was no magic user but he still found it important for him to help. But he was no use without a magic user.

"I guess." He said. "Unless we found a way to share experiences telepathically or something, but I'm not ready to go that far."

Snow Shoe laughed.
"Yes, that could be done. But who would do that?" He said. He started to walk away from the den.
"We better start are way there, keep an eye out for anyone." He said.

"Good point." Watcher chuckled. "And ok." He scented the air as he followed.

They walked along the riverbed like before. Snow Shoe walked on the farther side of the water due to his fear. After a few minutes of walking he stopped.
"Tread carefully here. It is a Vorox pack's territory. They wouldn't mind you, but they would care about me." He said.

"Really." Watcher mused. "A wolf like me would make an easy meal for a vorox. Okay." He trod close to the water, ears pricked and eyes scanning the bushes.

Snow Shoe looked a little confused.
"Since when do Vorox eat others?" He said. His stance had changed since he walked into the territory. His tail was raised higher, like it was readying himself for an attack. If you listened closely you would be able to hear a soft hissing as poison moved upward toward the sliver tip.

Watcher shrugged. "I dunno, I guess I've always assumed it. On the other side of the Sonazea borders, the law of survival is simple: Eat or be Eaten. If it's bigger than you, it's probably a predator, and that's how I still think." He froze. Watchers ears swiveled, it sounded as if the bushes were rustling. "What's that?" He hissed quietly.

Snow Shoe turned toward the sound, his tail raised. There was a Vorox there. Since about 80% of Vorox were male Snow Shoe guessed that the Vorox was male. He had light tan skin and gleaming red eyes. He didn't step out, he jumped out, right on top of Snow Shoe. He bit down on his back, exposing Snow Shoe's inter workings. Snow Shoe bucked and caused the Vorox to almost fall off. That was enough for him. He was able to get his teeth into the Vorox's leg and tear him off.

Watcher let out a howl and dropped his rib, his eyes began to shine. A great wave came up from the river right to where the two vorox were, he was careful to aim the wave so that few, if any, drops fell on Snow Show. The other vorox was completely drenched.
OOC: oops O.o I dunno, I personally think we're okay over here. You could PM a mod and ask them to move this thread so that we can continue on normally over there, though that might not be necessary. :) I gotta go early, busy day tomorrow :/ Good night!

As soon as the water hit both Vorox let go of each other. Snow Shoe stood ready for another attack, but the other Vorox stood soaked with his eyes wide in fear and shock. He didn't do anything for a moment before taking off, away from Snow Shoe and Watcher.

Pride thought about this for a while. " An owl huh?.... Well I apologize but I am completely uncertain as to what I am at all." E told Marten, Still trying to figure out things in his head. "what is your name?" He asked, " My name is Pride I believe."

Watcher grinned, happy he had been able to save a friend in an unfair fight. It didn't exactly happen often for him.

(Since I have three characters I will color code them so it is easy for you guys to tell which character it is. Brown - Marten. Red - Simon. Blue - Snow Shoe)
Marten still wasn't sure about this animal but he seemed friendly. If he wanted to eat him he could have just jumped up and smack him out of the tree.
"My name is Marten." He said. His feathers started to poof back up again like normal.
Simon walked into a thick forest. He felt safer here, he was a Forest Vorox after all. This is where he should be. He found a low branch in one tree and jumped up into it. It was easy with his long legs build for climbing and jumping though trees as well as running. He spotted the next tree and crouched down for the next jump. He made it, but had the cling on for a moment before getting his balance. That's when he noticed that the branch was already occupied by a tiny brown bird.
Marten hooted in alarm and jumped down from the tree. He opened his wings to slow the fall. He landed beside Pride. He wasn't sure he could trust Pride but he was better than the new animal that jumped right at him.
Snow Shoe shook the drops of water that managed to get on his pelt. Blackish blood oozed from his wound but he didn't seem to notice.
"Thank you. But now we have to hurry. That was a Sand Vorox. They live in huge groups and he'll be going back to tell them about us." He said.

IC: "Lets move then!" Watcher said. He put down the rib and buried it in the river sand, taking one last, large bite before covering it. Chances were the vorox would find it anyway, but the blood smell would give away thier trail. He hurried up the river, wading in the shallows so as not to leave pawprints.

Snow Shoe did not follow Watcher into the water, instead he trotted beside the river. If he ran he would have left Watcher far behind because his legs were so much stronger and longer, build for running. Sand Vorox needed a large amount of land for the large packs. They were also extremely territorial. Snow Shoe was hoping for a tiny Forest Vorox group that hardly bothered anyone unless threatened. It was strange that Sand Vorox took land in the forest when they lived in an open area, mostly in underground tunnels. So Snow Shoe wasn't surprised to see the forest thinning out into a meadow with long flowing grass. He would not be happy here. His preferred living space was the forest but he could live in a snowy place if he wanted.
"This could be were there camp is. But I don't see anyone." He warned.

"Well." Watcher said. "Either thier all hiding, whch I doubt, or they haven't caught up to us yet. Either one, lets hope we don't meet them."

Snow Shoe was weary about about going out into the open but going into the forest on the sides would have just as much danger. What didn't want to be doing is staying in one place, which was what he was doing. He desided you lower his tail to show he wasn't threatening them and hope they would let him pass. It was unlikely but worth a try. He started to walk into the clearing.

Watcher followed him, tsting he air warily as they moved through. "I smell vorox." He growled. "Lots of them."

The first Vorox Snow Shoe sensed was a young one with bright green eyes. He was looking out one of the tunnel openings at him. Snow Shoe guessed he wouldn't be a threat because of the fear emanating from him. He could sense at least three magic users nearby but he knew none of them out help. Sand Vorox never left their pack, their lifestyle depended too much on the support of the pack. He couldn't anything more from them because they blocked him from their minds. Something flew past Snow Shoe, a pointed stick maybe. But the spell he had cased yesterday when meeting Watcher was still working and kept any long ranged weapons away. He turned and was able to locate the thrower. One of the magic users no doubt. Sand Vorox were much bigger than Snow Shoe. Snow Shoe was a bit smaller than normal Vorox because of the Snow Vorow part of him. Sand Vorox were the biggest breed. The Sand Vorox towered over him.

Watcher stayed silent, watching SnowShoe and the vorox. He decided he would see if SnowShoe could get them passed, he knew vorox better than he did, and Watcher didn't want to fight.

Pride took a step sideways, giving Marten enough room should he feel anymore uncomfortable. In the same manner he watched Marten, Pride looked at the newcomer curiosly. What was he? This one had no wings, however Marten had seemed scared of it. "Uhm...Are you all right?" Pride asked the little owl.

(The size of a Vorox depends on the breed. From biggest to smallest, Sand, Forest and Snow. A Sand Vorox is about two times the size of a wolf. A Forest Vorox is a few inches smaller. A Snow Vorox is right around the same size of a wolf, sometimes smaller. Simon is a Forest Vorox. Snow Shoe is a hybrid of a Forest Vorox and Snow Vorox so he is like a Forest Vorox runt.)

"This is the Marik Pack's Terriory. What are you doing here?" The Sand Vorox growled.
"I am Snow Shoe, the second in command of the Shyon Pack. I am not here to harm you or your packmates. I only need to pass through." Snow Shoe explained.
"Right through our camp? I don't believe you." The Sand Vorox said, raising his tail and charged toward Snow Shoe, completely ignoring Watcher.

Watcher knew SnowShoe wouldn't see the oncoming attack, so he let out a long, low howl. He cast a spell that created a thin barrier between SnowShoe and the vorox, just enough to send the SandVorox flying backwards when it hit the wall.

Snow Shoe could feel the magical barrier in front of him and wasn't sure what to do about it. He was sure it was made by Watcher and he had helped but now he didn't know where to go. He could see the rough sides objects with echolocation but not invisible objects like this barrier.

Watcher took down the barrier as the Sand Vorox hit the ground, thrown by electricity that sparked from it, not wanting to waste energy when he might need a bigger spell.

Snow Shoe was about to attack when the Sand Vorox used a spell to summon fire, just a small ball of floating fire commonly used to light tunnels. But it was enough. Snow Shoe could feel the heat radiating from it, the sounds of it spiting. The light from it reflected in his wide pale eyes. Memories flowed through him. Running though heat, everywhere. Everything out of place and unfamiliar. Shouts cumming from odd places. Making it out and into open space. Trees in his way. Panic. Snow Shoe just stood there, seemingly in shock.

Watcher cocked his head at the vorox, worry in his eyes. Was the sand vorox using some kind of hypnosis spell? Watcher had heard of them, but never really seen one, much less used. If SnowShoe turned on him, chances were he was dead. He thought about extinguishing the flame with a water spell, but stayed quiet and waited to see what would happen.

The Sand Vorox was suprised by Snow Shoe's reaction. He only meant to distract him while he recovered himself. He pulled himself up and slashed Snow Shoe's shoulder open with his sliver pointed tail. This woke Snow Shoe from his daze. His leg went limp for a moment then he held it up to keep weight of it. He bit down on the Sand Vorox's back which was right in front of him.

Watcher snarled and leaped forward, leaping onto the Sand Vorox's shoulders. He clawed and took snaps at its ears, most of them missing. He was outraged that the vorox would attack a blind one who couldn't see where to hit, but he guessed that was life. Wolf packs abused the omegas and drove the runt off. He wished he had a water source somewhere where he could conjure a spell, then remembered. The river!

Snow Shoe let go of the Sand Vorox when Watcher got into the fight. He limped backward, his wounded leg raised. He did a quick check that no one else was coming out to attack before biting down into the Sand Vorox's tail, almost breaking it into two.

Watcher let out a vicious howl and stretched down, raking at the vorox's eyes.

The Sand Vorox howled in pain and pulled himself backward from Watcher. Blackish blood streamed from the wound and caused him to be temporally blind. So he turned to a different line of attack and tried to force his way into Watcher's mind.
Marten nodded slowly, looking up at the newcomer. Again, he had no idea what it was. All he knew was he was tired, and probably wouldn't be able to fly away from him.
Simon was a little startled from suddenly finding other animals. An owl and a dragon, strange pair.
"I apologize, I didn't mean to startle anyone. I didn't know you were here." He said softly, knowing full well the owl was scared of him.

Watcher knew the vorox was trying to find his way in, so he closed his eyes tight, concentrating. Watcher blocked all telepathic channels he could find, concentration coursing through him. Before when SnowShoe had done it, it had been gentle probing though, not true breakage. Watcher was not a telepath, had no mastery in the art, so it wouldn't exactly be difficult for the sand vorox to break through, however much he tried.

Snow Shoe wasn't sure what to do. If he moved he could distract Watcher which could make him lose. He focused on a small patch of grass that the Sand Vorox stood on. Using a spell he burnt the grass so it heated up beneath him and send smoke up into his face. It wasn't meant to hurt him, just get him thinking about something else.

Watcher felt relief as the concentration pressing from the second mind eased and he smelled smoke. He dared to open one eye, seeing that the grass underneath the vorox was burning. Watcher shut his eyes tight again, sending out a telepathic pulse that would hopefully knock their minds apart.

After being beaten again the Sand Vorox reluctantly retreated down a tunnel whole. Snow Shoe scearched out for the other two magic users and learned that one was the young Sand Vorox before, an apprentice, the other was an elder. He didn't think they were threats.

Pride watched the new creature curiosly. "You are not bothering me however if you dont mind me asking... What is it that you are exactly?" He suddenly felt stupid for not knowing what any of the other animals were.

Watcher opened his eyes as the sand vorox retreated. "Lets go." He panted, tongue hanging out of his mouth. Watcher wasn't very good at telepathy spells, and they drained him of energy something awful.

Snow Shoe noticed that his companion was drained of energy. But he knew they should get moving fast before someone else came out for a fight. He moved slower than before so the tired wolf could keep up.
"Once we are out of here we can find a place for you to rest. I'll get you something to eat." He said.
Simon smiled softly down at the others. He didn't jump down because he wasn't sure about them. Simon's trust was a hard thing to get. In fact only three Vorox had his complete trust. That was is lost mate, Akira, and his old friends Jack and Snow Shoe.
"I am a Forest Vorox by the name of Simon in search of both my lost pack and the Temple Of Magic." He said calmly.

"I'll be fine." Watcher said, plodding after him.

"No you wont, you are clearly tired. Just a few minutes of rest will do you good." He said, it didn't sound like a request.

Watcher just grumbled, padding along.

Pride nodded his head in greeting to Simon," It is a pleasure to meet you Simon, I am Pride. What is this Temple of Magic you speak of?" Pride thought for a second, "...What is Magic exactly?"

"I don't claim to know magic well since I cannot use it. It is the ability to change the world around you with spells. The Temple Of Magic is said to hold a special spell that can continue to protect Sonazea." Simon explained.[color]
Marten cocked his head. He stared at the Vorox with wide brown eyes. He didn't understand much of what he said.
Snow Shoe relaxed once he stepped out of the Sand Vorox territory, well 'stepped' isn't the best word for it. He hopped out is more like it. He walked with his wounded leg up. Black drops still oozed out of it.

Pride was even more curious now. He did not know the Vorox, but he felt like following him to see where it lead. However, he first thought of asking Marten what he thought. Looking towards Marten he asks, "Do you know where this temple is? Or...anything about this...Magic?"

Watcher looked at the blood oozing from SnowShoes leg. "Dark Magic isn't a healing art, but I can perform a spell that will kill and prevent infection in that leg until it heals." He offered.

Snow Shoe smiled softly then shook the leg. Blood splattered on the grass but also uncovered the metal and wires winding around the inside of his leg before cloaking it again.
"I don't think it is possible for it to get infected." He said softly.
Marten nodded slowly.
"I met an Elf Owl who could use magic before. He never did any around me but I was told he could." He said.

Watcher cocked his head, staring. "That's uh... one weird leg."

Snow Shoe shrugged and continued to walk.
"It's not just my leg. All Vorox are like that." He said. They walked away from the river and into a thin forest.

Pride thought for a moment before looking back at Simon "Do you think it would be possible if...I accompanied you? You see, I do not know where I am or where I am from. Regrettably, I do not remember anything about myself, not even what I am. Perhaps if I go with you to this place, somebody may be able to use this magic to help me remember."

(Since dragons are mythical animals people may have a different view on them. I think that they all should be able to use magic. Is it ok if Simon tells him that or do you want him to find out on his own?)
"Of course. Trust me I understand what it like to lose your memory." He said. He lightly jumped from the branch. He eyed Marten who was hiding under Pride's wing.
"What about you?" He asked. The tiny bird shrugged.
"I am always moving anyway, why not move the way you are?" He said.

"I find that... odd, but I guess that's life." Watcher said. A strong gust of wind came around and picked up Watchers feathers, carrying them off. "My feathers!" He gasped, giving chase after them.

"We go south, following the river. As long as we go that way we should be able to find the Temple." Simon said. He started to walk in the direction he said. Then he turned to face Pride.
"You know, you should be able to use magic being a dragon and all." He said.
Snow Shoe wasn't able to see things as small and thin as feathers so he couldn't help Watcher. But he thought he knew why the feathers were important to him. The same reason he kept a pale pink blanket that he now wears as a bandana. Using a spell he made the wind blow toward Watcher for a few seconds and made the feathers slow their passe away from the wolf.

IC: Watcher took a flying leap and caught them mid-air. He trotted back to SnowShoe. "Thanks." He gasped, tying them back into the fur around his ear, more tightly this time.

Snow Shoe nodded and continued to walk into a small open area in the middle of the forest. He spotted a tree whos branches looked like twigs and fell downward making a nice cover for someone who wanted a quick rest.

Pride pulled his head up confused again. "Dragon....What is a dragon?" He thought as best he could but he could not be certain if he was a dragon, nothing seemed to click. "And If I really can use magic, how do I do it?"

"I wouldn't know, I am no magic user. Maybe we will find someone who can teach you. And a dragon, ummm, a dragon is a winged lizard that are always born with magic. Some can breath fire without the aid of magic." Simon said.
Marten looked up at Pride, his eyes drooping.
"Could I ride on your back and rest? I should be asleep at this time, I don;t think I can keep up." He asked.

" I wouldnt mind careying you Marten, just go ahead and hop up whenever you need to" He told the small owl before turning back to Simon, "Do you think that perhaps there will be other Dragons where we are going? Maybe some who may even beable to tell me where I am from?" He questioned the Vorox, even though he was sure that he didnt know.

Watcher saw the same cover and broke into a stumbling run, flopping down in the shade. The leap, though not magic, had cost him, and he was in no condition to go further. He wouldn't admit that, though. "So." He panted. "Where is the Temple of Magic?"

"The Temple is South, the river goes right too it. If we follow it we should get to it." Snow Shoe explained as he sat down beside him.

"Alright." Watcher whuffed, putting his head on his paws. He looked at SnowShoes blanket, cocking his head. "Where did you get that anyway?"

(It is a part of a blanket. It is burnt and pale pink. He uses it as a bandana.)
"When a was young I was cared for by another species, not sure what since I was truly blind then and too young to understand anything important. But the place was set on fire. I escaped with only a bit of this blanket." Snow Shoe said. He spotted a plant with very large leaves and moved over the pick them. Using the leaf and a ting like branch from the tree he bandaged his wound.

"You get lots of friends in a pack. I know it is just as natural for Vorox to form packs as it is for Wolves. So surely you were born into a pack?" Snow Shoe asked.

"It is possible, but not just dragons can use magic." Simon said as be began to walk.

IC: "I probably was." Watcher said. "I don't remember much of it. I got kicked out as soon as I was weaned."

Snow Shoe nodded, understanding why his pack would have kicked him out. "We will leave whenever your ready. If need something to eat I can get you something." He offered.
"It depends on if we catch any trouble. If we can get there safely about a week or so." Simon said.

Snow Shoe nodded and left the cover of the tree. Since he could not see his prey he used magic to find the minds of prey and used that to guide him to them. He didn't find it fair to the rabbit he was targeting to use a spell to kill it. Then it would have a chance to survive. So he crouched and took a moment to pinpoint it before running and jumping on the surprised animal and killing it. He picked it up and walked back to the tree that Watcher was resting in.

Watcher, who had been momentarily dozing, blinked and raised his head. "Thanks." He said, digging into the hare. Watcher felt guilty about eating someone else's prey, but that was what he did to survive.

Pride nodded his head wbefore just simply following Simon. He began thinking about his past or at least trying to remember it. Pride really didnt have any choice but to go to this shrine, he tgougt. The only chance he had to finding out who he was and what he did could be at that shrine.

Snow Shoe laid down close by to Watcher. His head was up and on watch for any hostiles.
Simon walked silently down the side of the river, taking care to keep his paws dry.
Marten blinked then opened his eyes. He turned his head around to look at his surroundings. "Do you have any idea where dragons would be?" He asked Pride.

Watcher finished the scraps and licked his lips, he had gulped the meat down right to the bone. "Okay, I feel a little better. Should we move?" He asked.

Pride thought or a moment about what Marten said. He had no idea however... He continuously saw an image of a sandy area... With water for as far as the eye could see. "I...cannot remember much but... I seem to be able to catch little bits and pieces. I cannot say where dragons come from but I believe i am from a place with lots of sand and more water than you can think of... Do you know any place like that?"

Marten shifted his weight as he thought.
"A beach maybe? I am told there is a lot of sand and water in those places." He said.
Simon ignored the two talking, he only glanced back a few times to make sure they were still there.

Pride looked towards Marten, "The beach huh? Well i think that is where i am from however I cannot be sure." He then looked up at Simon, "Iv been meaning to ask you, what type of dangers do you think are out here?"

"Then we still have some time to move before looking for a place to sleep." He said as he stood and began to walk.
Simon snorted.
"A lot. Even more when your around me, there are a lot of Vorox after me. But any animal in their right mind isn't going to attack a dragon AND a Vorox." He said.

Watcher nodded and shook out one leg that had been becoming stiff, trotting along behind.

Snow Shoe lifted his ears, which looked kind of funny since they were naturally pulled backward. He turned his head a little and sniffed. He located a Cross Fox behind them. it wasn't uncommon for a fox to lag behind wolves because of the meat they left behind. Sure enough the red and black animal was sniffing the remains of the rabbit Wacher had left behind. He didn't mind it the Cross Fox followed as long as he didn't bother them. He continued to walk without comment.

Watcher looked back at the fox warily. He had never liked the sly creatures, it was hard to eat in peace in fox country. He kept his ears pinned backward for sounds off aggression.

Snow Shoe moved into a trot. He wanted to get farther today because of the lag from the fight. But his trot cycle always was interrupted by his wounded leg which made him limp. But he ignored it and moved on.

IC: Watcher could tell that SnowShoe was having trouble moving. He considered a spell that could temporarily soften the muscles in a stiff leg, but figured he better save his energy for a true emergency.

Snow Shoe walked in silence for the rest of the way until he felt the temperature drop. He knew it was time to find a place for the night. He walked slower and used his echolocation ability to locate a den.

Watcher spotted a comfortable-looking hollow at the base of the river underneath the bank, and he knew it might flood, but he decided to ask SnowShoe about it. "SnowShoe!" He called. "What about there?"

Pride nodded and quietly followed behind Simon, once again lost in his on thoughts. His stomach suddenly growled and he realized that he didnt even know when the last time he ate was. He calld out to Simon," Do you think we can stop for a bit? Im kinda hungry."

Snow Shoe frowned as he moved toward the place Watcher had pointed out. Because of the rain last night the river had expanded but over the coarse of the day the water was reduced. Leaving thick, wet mud in its path. The watery mud sank into Snow Shoe's white paws he winced at the contact with the watery substance but continued. Though the water was cold Snow Shoe's paws were the only part of him that made him a hybrid, which meant he had Snow Vorox feet. So he could stand much lower temperatures then just chilly water. When he made it to the den he party stepped inside. The ground was covered with soft but damp moss and very few spots of mud. "Ummm, maybe, if you clean your self up before going in. But if it rains again tonight we'll be soaked." He said.
Now that it was getting darker Marten started to awake. He shook himself on Pride's back before opening his large brown eyes. He didn't dismount the dragon however because he was still just waking up.
Simon looked at the now falling sun. Its light had turned orange and colored the clouds light orange and some even pinkish. Sadly Simon wasn't able to see all the colors because of his vision. Since he had red eyes everything had a tint of red. If he had green eyes for example, everything would have been tinted green. He signed deeply before stopping. "I guess so. Better look for a place to camp out tonight as well." He said.

Watcher sniffed it now that he was up close. "I've slept in worse." He said. "What about you?"

"Much worse. Like being held captive underground." Snow Shoe shuttered. "I am an animal of the trees, not several miles underground." He said. He shook the mud from his paws before stepping into the den. The moss felt soft under his paws and it was thick enough for him to sink a little down and leave soft paw prints in the ground. He checked for any rocks or twigs before sitting down.

"Really." Watcher mused. "In truth I've never been far underground, I have been far underwater though." He added.

IC: "I guess. Yeah." Watcher's voice hinted pride, and he thought rightly so, not many wolves swam that deep. "I guess you have to be when it's a life-or-death scenario." He had settled down and was grooming his flank, tail thumping against the spongy floor.

(Accepted. We have two different groups that will later meet. We have Snow Shoe (Vorox) and Watcher (Wolf) together then we have Pride (Dragon), Marten (Pigmy Owl) and Simon (Vorox). Which group do you want to join in?
@ Firespirit - I haven't made any more on it but I did make a short story with the Vorox characters that I posted in the stories form.)
"I usually sleep in a den I make under a tree, but we wouldn't all fit in that. We will have to find a den. Marten, can you fly ahead and see if you can find one?" Simon asked. The tiny owl nodded and opened his wings. He took off from Pride's back. Because of his lack of flying skills he didn't fly up too high but high enough to see farther than Pride and Simon.
Snow Shoe suddenly remembered the Cross Fox that was following them. He searched for its mind but found nothing. "Umm, the fox seems to have left already. The usually follow longer then that." He said.

Attila hops along, she was so small compared to everything around her. Only half a foot or so standing on her hind paws. She lifts herself up to look over the tall grass. Ears flick slightly as she looks off towards a watery land. Hopping closer she sniffs the ground with her pink nose, chocolate brown eyes look in front of her. Paw prints mark the grass and the paw prints were twice the size of her head. Her ears lower against her head as she creeps forward ever so slowly to a patch of brown grass. She hides in it and huddles inside the 'den'. "Comfy," she whispers to herself, closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep. Her mother said she could sleep outside for a week or so to practice her survival skills. Slowly and steadily she goes into a light rest.

IC: Watcher sighed. He was really no better than a fox despite his magic, though he'd never admit it. "Let's pretend I've had some clashes with them." He suggested.

"Alright, whatever. I am going out for a quick walk, I am not that tired." He said then stood up and stepped out of the den. Again he winced when his paws sank into the watery mud. Once he was out and in a patch of long grass. He wiped it away with the long green strands of grass. When he sat down his paw he felt something soft and small. He quickly removed his paw before putting any weight on the thing. He leaned down the sniff it and found that it was a tiny rabbit sleeping in the grass.

Attila felt something over her and woke, looking up at giant creature. Her big brown eyes showed curiosity but slight fear. She doesn't say anything, leaving her ears pressed against her head. It began sniffing her and she stops any movement at all besides breathing. She looks up again and it was also looking at her, not in a way of eating her, which she was thankful of. Finally gathering up her courage, she clears her throat. "H-Hello," she says in her tiny, squeaky voice.

Snow Shoe knew the rabbit was afraid of him. All small preyed animals were afraid of animals like him. So he lifted his head and smiled warmly at her, hoping to make it clear he wasn't here to hurt her.
"Well hello there. I'm sorry I didn't mean to step on you, did I hurt you?" He asked.

IC: Watcher snuffled in his sleep and rolled over. The wet moss underneath him soaked into his fur, and he dreamed he was swimming far underwater. The bubbles whizzed around him as he swam deeper and deeper, in his dream he was back outside Sonazea, and the wolf packs he hid from were hard on his heels. He looked back and his eyes flew open wide. The packs were following him underwater! No wolf pack did that! Watcher's mind turned the wolves from the normal, furry creatures he was used to to green, mossy monsters with aqua eyes and fangs made of stone. He swam with all his might to get away from the strange water-wolves.

Attila calms down, this creature seemed to not want to hurt her. Letting her breath out, she raises her ears up. "It's okay. I'm not hurt," she says, running her small paws over her ears. Raising herself up so she was about three inches taller then on all fours, she smiles at the creature. "My name is Attila!" she states. She was already pushing away her shyness.

IC: Watcher gasped, this time in the dream he swallowed water. He was running out of air. The old wolf... reach the wolf and he'd be safe. The old wolf... Watcher coughed and gasped as he saw one of the sea-wolves come up behind him and grab him by the back of the neck. Watcher tried to howl in horror, but water filled his throat and he coughed. Watcher woke up in the den he and SnowShoe had made. He coughed up a clump of moss, apparently he had rolled over while sleeping and the lack of air had caused the dream. He coughed again and shuddered, huddling down with his muzzle buried in his paws.
OOC: for the record, the wolf in Watcher's dream wasn't actually murdered

Attila quickly thinks it over, "Alright!" she says, smiling at Snow Shoe with huge brown eyes. She was so happy she made a friend. "So where do you live?" she asks, realizing she was still in her bush of grass. Hopping out, she stands next to one of Snow Shoe's paws.

Attila nods, "Oh..." she fell silent, a confused look on her face as she hops along beside him. "Um... Snow Shoe?" she starts, "What's a wolf?" she asks. She tried to remember her mothers lessons but it all came blank to her. Were wolves dangerous? How big were they? Friend or foe? The questions ran through her head.

Watcher shook his fur out and went to drink from the river. Lapping up cold mouthfuls of water, he wondered where Snow Shoe had gone.

"I wont lie to you. Wolves do eat your kind. But you will be safe around him. He wont hurt you if I ask him not too." Snow Shoe said. He spotted the black wolf when the neared the den beside the river.
"Watcher, I have found a friend." He said.

Watcher raised his head, hearing Snow Shoe. "Good... I guess." Snow Shoe was nice, Watcher would admit that, but he was still a loner. "Who is it?"

Attila was hiding behind Snow Shoe's huge paw when they reached the large black wolf. She looks up at Snow Shoe worriedly, then back at the wolf that had failed to notice her... For now. When she hops out from her spot, she looked at him. Her ears were pinned against her head as she raised onto her back paws to seem only a few inches taller. "H-Hi there," she says in a shaky voice. She made sure to make it loud enough to hear, but it still seemed small and fragile.

"I found her hiding away in the grass were anyone could find her, almost stepped on her. She'll be sleeping with us tonight if your ok with that?" Snow Shoe said softly. It was clear Attila was scared and he hoped he could in some way calm her.

IC: "Uhh..." Watcher swallowed as he looked at the bunny he had just noticed. His mouth watered as her scent drifted towards him, but Snow Shoe hadn't eaten her, so he assumed she wasn't vorox food... whatever vorox ate. It had just occurred to him that he hadn't seen SnowShoe take a bite of anything, but those were thoughts for later. "Sure, why not?" He finally said, trying to make his voice seem happy. He was probably failing miserably, but was it his fault, the bad dream still fresh in his mind?

After cleaning off his paws from the mud Snow Shoe stepped inside the den. He laid in a loose ball in the corner. He pawed off the pale pink bandana he was wearing and placed it beside himself.
"Attila, you can use this. Just don't go running off with it." He said.

Watcher blinked open his eyes, grainy vision wavering in front of him as his eyes adjusted to the sunlight filtering into the den.

History: Myu was born after two zookeepers mated a male snow leopard with a female arctic wolf. Her dad died after sneaking an elk carcass from the bear cage one night. A sloth bear stayed awake seeing her father steal his food and he ripped out his heart. Her mother saw her father dead, and decided to commit suicide by impaling herself on the bears claws, and successed. Myu ran away with her siblings. A scientist saw her and kidnapped her, giving her a chemical that gave her ice powers. Myu ran off to Sonazea.

Snow Shoe blinked and stretched out. He unleashed his claws and cut some of the moss as he returned them to his body. He yawned loudly, showing his metallic set of teeth. He nudged the small animal sleeping beside him.
"Time to get up." He said softly. The tone his voice took reminded him of his apprentice, Mist, who he had raised from a newborn. She was now alone, but he knew she wasn't dead. The link between a mentor and apprentice told him that at least.
The cross fox sat beside the river. The wind made not only the long grass around him seem to dance, but also his fur. His narrowed eyes were fixed on the cave that the wolf, vorox and rabbit rested in. So they are serious in their task, but is it to gain power, or to protect this world? The fox stood and looked down at the face looking up at him in the water.

He stretched and left the den, taking a long drink from the river. When he looked up, he saw the fox from before sitting there. Curling his lip, he looked away and leaped into the river. Watcher did not like foxes, and made it very obvious.
