I've been seeing it for a long while, but why are there so many people with wolf characters that use the cat tail? Like I understand if you're using the wolf model for something else, but I'm seeing actual WOLVES using cat tails...
I don't understand. ;-; If you have a wolf with a cat tail, please explain that to me. :3

Well since the canine model has a more slimmer feature compared to the feline model it can be used for dragon characters or "demon" characters. I used to use it for Baku in the very beginning before I fatten him up. Also the point of having different options in tails and ears and eyes is to make your own creative creature of your choice. Having the cat tail option for canine is just another element for people to use creatively.

I never understood why they used the cat tails .-.

I don't have cat tails on my wolves, but I can easily see why some people would. Well, one thing, just to be different, mix models together. Just having at the model, seeing what you can make and how it turns out. Another would be the species, some people like to have made-up species with a wolf and a slimmer tail. It all just comes down to the creative mind of another person and what they like. Having a cat with bunny ears or other, endless combinations in that nature. So, yeah, no surprise to see a wolf with a cat tail, just another person before a screen enjoying the avatar they created. ~

Ah, okay. But it's really common to see someone with a cat tail. I'm seeing it so much it doesn't seem very "creative" anymore. :c
But as long as you're happy with your character, I'm fine with that.

The only real response I have to give to any of this is "Why not?"
Because really, if you're on a game that gives you these options and lets you create at your own free will... why not? :)

It makes me feel unique. Most wolves have wolf tails, some cat. Plus it looks kinda cool! :)

You might actually see me often on a Canine-modeled character with a cat tail. Why? Because my friends and I RP as this Domestic cat/Spotted hyena hybrid species called the Feliyena. Its apparence differ from which cat breed they're offspring to, but they all have one thing in common: the cat-like tail.
I don't use the cat tail for anything else. o>o

When I was really new to the game,I usually saw wolves with cat tails. I thought that people used them to tell that the wolf was attacked and the enemy ripped off half of it's tail. Yeah,it's really odd,but that was just my newbie thinkings. I don't have a wolf with a cat tail,I like them more with a wolf tail,no offense. =)

People use it for various reasons, I guess. I've seen canines with "spear" tails that use the cat tail to show how thin the tail is. A few of my characters even had them.
I don't use them because they look off on the canine model to me, probably because they're cat tails.

I think people are missing the bit when you said this was on wolves.
I have loads of canine model characters with cats tails, but I wouldn't use it on a wolf. Sometimes when wolves shed their tails can get pretty ratty, so that could be a reason. The only other reason I can think of is, because they want to. I don't really role play as real world things, I like making up my characters.

There are some dog breeds with "flat" tails. Take a great dane for example. Possibly even using the features of a great dane. There's the Red Bone Coonhound and plenty of dogs wih "flat' tails.
-
I think it's because there are some breeds of dogs that have that kind of tail, I know my dog in RL does.

I have a character called Bulomino who is a type of wolf with cat tail, I think it fits very well.
I think if you create a wolf with a cat tail you'll get amazed in how awesome it is in animation and such. It's more complex, in my opinion

How is it more complex, with in the animation? It moves like every other tail doesn't it?
