Rainfall was heard throughout your window. A soft noise from outside, then a loud Clunk! sounded from the attic. Tears streamed down your six-year-old face into your small arms and legs as you hid from the 'Monsters', whom were roaming around the house. They were wanting to cause harm, your parents told you. Your whole body was shaking, you wanted to reach for your favorite music box, the one your grandmother gave you... The one that calmed you down, sadly you couldn't. You wouldn't dare be found with the music that emitted from the small box.
You gave a longing glace over at the box, which was standing right above your bed. Your emotions choking your throat, making it almost impossible to be silent while sobbing your eyes out. 'Help,' You mouthed the words to the ceiling. 'Don't let them find me...' Your six-year-old body fell over slightly, as soon as you heard a loud Crash! from the kitchen. Another crashing sound, then silence. You dared not go out to see if the 'Monsters' were still there.
You grabbed your favorite stuffed animal and the music box, and ran to the bathroom across the hallway. Locking the door behind you, you cried some more as you opened up the music box. Soft tears streaming down your face.
Rainfall was heard through the ventilation system in your bathroom.

PLOT
Music boxes are a child's only safety in this role-play. By child's, I mean everyone's. They 'protect' them from the evil, and are all somehow connected to each other. Every music box may have it's own song, but just as I said before, they're all have a connection to each other. Some beckon for others with a contradicting song to come closer, other music boxes try to force similar songs away.
How this happens is when the music box gets loud, it means you're getting close to the other person's music box, inwhich it wants you to be with. When it gets a bit scratchy, perhaps slowing down and softening, it's trying to tell you to get away from the music box melody, which you have come in contact with.

Background:Dariya is not happy at all with her past.She remembers her mother.Like an angel,she would always be on her side,comforting her and making her not feel any different from the other children.At night,when the girl was going to bed,her mother would always tell her bedtime stories and remember her that she loves her more than anything else.But all these happy moments ceased to exist when she died.Dariya remembers all the pain she has suffered through when the only person that truly loved her was gone.Her father,who was mostly away from home on bussiness trips to other countries married another woman whom Dariya thought she'll be a nice mother just like her real one.Much to her dismay,this one was ruthless and all these years they've been living toghether,she never warmed up to the girl one bit.She would boss her around,usually mocking her about her inabbility to speak and if she was her real child she would have sent her long ago to the orphanage.This would always make Daiya break into tears and run into her bedroom whilst her step-mother wouldd play card games and smoke alot.When her father would come home to only leave shortly after his arrival,Dariya wanted so bad to reveal him how much was the woman hurting her but seeing that he was indeed happy with his new wife,the girl decided not to tell him anything and continue suffering just for her father's happiness.Now,the only thing she has left from her mother is the music box she gave her a month before her death and whenever she feels sad,she listens to it.

Background: Amie has lived quite the happy life, her parents are still together and she has two brothers Jake who is 19 years old and Dean who is 22. But, in her younger days it felt like hell her family going through a big change. Her mother and father had split up for atleast a year, and through that time her grandmother had died. It was a heart breaking time for all the family and she received a music box of one of her favorite songs. A day or so later her father returned and their life was back to normal. Although her belovid nan was no longer with them she always had the box to remember her by.

Well, I'm trying to explain this without confusing you more... Or without giving away any secret plot I was hoping to pop in.
The 'Monsters' in this role-play are people who want to take away the music box, or kidnap the characters, or just do something terrible and unlawful in general.
The characters, however, do not live in haunted houses; though, most of the parents of characters (whom will be NPCs during the role-play) are skeptical about the music boxes, and don't believe that the characters' good luck charm or keep them protected; and lastly, no, everyone can see the music box, hear the music box, etc.~
I hoped I cleared up the confusion~

She was born into a wealthy family, but had no siblings so her life was pretty dull. Her father left whens he was still a toddler thus leaving her with her mother who will do anything to protect her. She eventually found a boyfriend when she was barely 16, though he cheated on her, thus making her extremely selfish and quiet. Her mother passed away in an accident right after her breakup so she got adopted by her foster parents she came to love, even though they were somewhat using her as a slave rather than a child. Nothing's changed since then.

Surprisingly, she isn't the type to "ask questions later, shoot first" as she clearly wants to be rational before exploding out into a massive ball of energy. Background:
Life was fairly simple for the Winchester family was stable as Joanna was the girl got usually got away with playing out in the rain from the close age of eight. Her parents, once filled of love, were starting to grow bitter of each other. Rose, Joanna's older sister and only sibling, was trying to make the best of life for Joanna but there was a large gap of six years between the two. Joanna was scolded constantly for her issues of taking things without even batting an eyelash, causing more outbursts of late night arguments and sleepless nights for both sisters. It was then as Joanna was at wits end from the lack of sleep that Rose introduced her to the music box. It was a family heirloom as Rose put it and decided to pass it down onto her as a gift but as a sense of safety for her. As the years went by, the parents still hadn't split and the tension intensified and that only made Joanna only grow further rebellious in her actions in public versus private. Along with that, she had been noticed oddities with the music box, especially after Rose gave her it. The events usually tying in to Rose. Why was the music box truly given? Joanna never had the chance to grow the courage to ask as in the awkward younger years of her prepubescent lifetime, there went Rose off to the U.S.A. [[Details will not be exploited.]]

-Has kleptomania and will steal at a whim as there is a failure of restrain to hold back such urges. There isn't a case of bad parenting, it is the sense of gratification needed to take things, anything, that caught her eye. It will come and ago during moments or when she is found herself in a distance. Be wary of your music boxes.
-She cannot take the sound of rain. She loathes it. Anytime when she is near the rain, she will not come out of the house and will remain indoors. The small, pestering droplets drive her mad.

Aaron's dark hair fell down in his face, a soft snore came from him. Hotoshi's phone went off as he stirred, his dark brown eyes half-open as he glanced at the cellular device. "D-damn," The seventeen-year-old murmmered under his breath as he wanted more sleep. Hotoshi sat up, brushing off some chip crumbs, and walked over to his desk. He yawned; stepping over to the phone and swiped it, turning it off. His eyes left for the window, and then stole over the music box in the corner of his desk.
Ava walked through the empty house, not noticing a small note left on the front door. She stopped inside the kitchen to make herself some breakfast. "Good morning," She told her dog and walked upstairs to eat her ceral in her bedroom.

Background: She was born in a hospital, and did not like the way her older brother treated her. She was given a music box when she was 4, and her brother was jealous. When she was 7, her mother gave her a dog and her brother got very jealous. The time she was 17, her brother left her mothers house without saying bye. She said goodbye too her mom when she died, and ran away with all of her stuff, including her music box, and her dog.

Standing still of the mirror, Joanna had begun to glide her fingers against the solid frame of the music box. It was the early morning, she had been up nearly for the whole night and slept for only four hours. She wasn't the type to be easily startled or begrudgingly aggressive when awoken in the morning and since it was a school day, there wasn't any chances of being allowed back into bed. School was necessary and it never did bother her when she did have to go anyway. There was the usual insipid people that attended the school but as long as they left her be, she was the happiest she could ever be. "You're pretty old," she muttered to herself as if the box could hear her. She wish it could. She just wanted to tell it all of the compliments in the world despite its quaint appearance. It had been past down from generation to generation or, from what Rose told her, but she never did bother asking her parents about it. When they saw the music box, both shrugged it off as if it were nothing. That irked her a bit. 'Can no one appreciate this? Honestly?' She frowned as she drew the box closer to her face as she slowly was turning it. The box itself was small, had it manually cranked, and only the true beauty was inside. A lovely landscape view of winter.
An eerie creaking startled the girl, almost dropping the music box. She fidgeted and grabbed it as she held her breath. As it was safe, the weight on her muscles eased as she placed it back onto her dresser. The door was opening slowly, Mrs. Winchester was just half-asleep but reminded her daughter to gt to class. 'Yes, ma'am." Joanna chirped happily in response, nervously eyeing away at the box as her mother's eyes went towards the bunch of miscellaneous objects that were as well on the dresser. The mother grumbled something under her breath and the daughter flinched. She knew exactly what she was saying. Joanna had to shake away the thought for now as she went over to grab her book bag and wait outside for her mother to drive her to school. With the book bag slouching against her hip, Joanna made her way while humming here and there.
The trip was short but ever so talkative as Joanna constantly pointed out to her mother all of the students as she had been doing since the age of eight and Mrs. Winchester only nodded her head and made small talk, "Bye, mom! Love you," she happily called out which was was odd for someone her age but still, she meant it. Her mother nodded her head softly and began to drive off. With the school towards her back, she sighed. She still had time to kill.

But all her thoughts vanished when her gaze met the calendar attached to the wall.Her birthday will come soon.How much joy she felt when this day was approaching swiftly!All the presents she would receive!But now,this day is no longer someting special.Just a regular one,considering her step-mother would always,more like on purpose ,forget about it,as for her father,he was never home for his daughter's birthday.Following this,Dariya no onger wanted to celebrate,she would just pass by,unnoticed,just like she always does.A harsh voice could be heard yelling for her downstairs.It was undoubtly her step-mother,and since she didn't like waiting at all,Dariya rushed in the hallway,where the woman was.
"Finally,you're here!the woman spoke as her gaze met Dariya's."I'm going out,so you better not mess around,because fi you do,it'll be me the one you'll have to deal with!The girl hated her more than anything else,but she always had to hide her feelings.The woman put on her coat and before she stepped outside,she assigned Dariya to dust the living room while she's away,then shut the door behind her,Now,she was home alone.It didn't mattered to her,as long as the woman was far away from her.Dariya went into the living room to start her duty but much to her suprise,there was no dust.So why did her step-mother told her to dust the living room?Maybe to keep her busy so she wouldn't "make trouble".She layed on the couch and slowily drift to sleep as her eyelids shut.

Personality: Simari is skiddish and tends to keep to herself. She doesn't have many friends because of her quiet nature. When she's around others she'll usually talk quietly unless she's mad then she'll result in yelling. Simari does have a short temper and sometimes will get in trouble. This is why she keeps to herself.
Music Box: I couldn't really find the right song that I liked but her music box plays marry had a little lamb. xD It's also white with green vines and red flowers painted on it.
Background: As a young child she had a caring father but such a nice father. Her father was drunk quite a bit and one night he actually hit her. He did that quite a bit after that until she grew tired of it. One night she called the police and he was taken into custidity. Sadly, she was happy he was arrested. They went to court and he was guilty. He's been in prison for four years and Simari fears the day he'll get out. Her mother promises to protect her and that's how she ended up with the music box. Her mother gave it to her to show no matter what she will be protected.

Wiping his eyes, Hotoshi went across his flat and yawned. He had his hand in his pants; he sleepily bent down to look inside his fridge. "Damn." He muttered under his breath before moving away to look inside the pantry. Nothin'... Hotoshi thought, blinking his dark brown eyes.

Xavier watched the outside of his window, seeing the sky and the outside always seemed to calm him... though he really wasn't fond of the idea of actually being in that element. He grabbed his black hoodie that he wore everywhere, and slipped it on, putting up the hood to hide his growing black hair which he wanted cut badly; though it actually looked good on him. His dull blue eyes looked around his room, which was a bit empty looking, almost too tidy. Looking to his music box, he sighed, sitting on the bed and opened it up just to hear the gentle calling of the box. It actually made him smile weakly for a split second, just waiting for time to pass by.

Soon the man started his way downstairs, nothing but the sound of his echoing steps ringing through the house. He was alone, as usual. His parents said they'd be out of town for three days, though haven't been back in two weeks. They called him only once to say they were staying for two months at her aunt's house. The boy just knew it was because he made their lives harder to live with him worrying them twenty four seven. 'You never get out enough, that's why you don't have many friends'. His mother would scold over and over like a broken record. The male made his way out, wearing his ripped jeans and white and red converse. His dull eyes looked over the outside, taking a deep sigh out of his lungs before making his way down the street and into the town.

Joanna had spent the majority of the morning before school having idly walked around ,greeting several others with a salute and a saucy wink before continuing her merry way. She unconsciously and typically was pulling on the strap of her book bag, allowing it to loosen and then tighten as her eyes nervously wavered over to hanging key chains and pins that had caught her attention. Without any hesitation, she bumped into the older student, possibly a senior. "Watch where you're going!" He shouted at her at which, Joanna apologized but didn't seem dismissive. "Oh, sorry there buddy!" She quickly waltzed away, the student was now several pins heavier. A loose grin came onto her face, eyeing at the particular contents and was pleased with what she had found. Nonchalantly her hands had placed away the merchandise into her pocket and she patted the pocket happily. Looks like Santa didn't need to come over her house this Christmas. She had her own goodie bag right here.

Simari sighed and got up out of her bed. She pushed the curtains over, revealing the bright sun. She made her to the closet and opened it. She grabbed a pair of skinny jeans. The jeans were pre-ripped up the legs. She then grabbed her usual shirt. A plaid collared shirt. It was red today. She then grabbed her black boots. They were leather and barely went over the ankle. She got dressed then made her way to her desk. Simari opened the white music box on the desk and turned the key. It hummed the melody of Marry Had A Little Lamb. She hummed with it before closing it and making her way down the stairs. She walked to the kitchen to see her mother making breakfast. "We're having eggs, bacon, and pancakes." Her mother stated as Simari slid onto the chair at the table. Simari smiled. "Cool." She said. Her mother fixed Simari a plate then made herself one and sat down at her place. Simari doddled with the fork before she ate her eggs. She then slowly ate her bacon then her pancakes. Simari grabbed her book bag and hugged her mom before exiting the hoise. She walked a ways down the side walk before she sat down on the curb. She grabbed a drawing pad from her bag and a few pencils. She flipped to a page with a wolf head and began shading. Simari didn't bother to head to school just yet. After a few minutes she made her way to school. As she entered the halls of the sychotic high school she bumped into a large senior. He was broad shouldered and she recognized him as the captain of the foot ball team. "Sorry.." She mumbled. The guy glared at her. "Watch it." He sneered. Simari rolled her eyes and pushed past him. She made her way to her first class. It was athletics and the main thing she practiced was volley ball.

Xavier walked down the streets... suddenly hearing what sounded like Japaneese. He was strangely quite good with languages, as he had a full set of Rosetta Stone at home. Enough said. His most fluent languages included his home language: English. Than there was German, Sweedish, Japaneese and very well in Spanish. He glanced up to the girl, hist eyes seeming to have that gloomy and out of place look still... not reacting at all to the girl. The teen just sighed, standing below her. "Drop." he called out in a monotone voice, looking to her simply.

Xavier of course made sure she landed safely, only looking to her as she landed, spinning her around to face him with a sigh. "Why were you on the the little ledge exactly... you couldn't of flown up there." he said in that strange monotone voice again.

She blinked. "I'm working for an informant who needs info on the building." It wasn't a complete lie. Every once in a while, Yuuhei set up things to make her curiosity purr, and wound up sending her on unintentional jobs on gathering info. When she's come back, he'd interrogate her.
She showed him the small camera that she had stashed in her pocket. "He sent me, because I take the best pictures." She smiled lightly, then made sure that nothing in her backpack had broken. Then, she looked back at the ladder. It was rusty, yes, but it should have held her weight.

Xavier nodded slowly, shoving his hands in his pockets once more as he scanned the rusty ladder. He than looked to her again with his cerulean eyes. "Ah, seems about right... strange how it fell though." He said, his voice or face never showing feeling. To most, that's why people made fun of him; honestly it was just downright creepy how he never reacted to anything. The living statue.

Simari practiced for about an hour and a half before leaving athletics. She got dressed in her cloths then made her way to science class. She was early as usual. When Simari opened up her bag her eyes got wide with shock. "My music box..." She whispered to herself. Simari dug through her bag trying to find it but found nothing. "Crap.." She whispered. Simari stood up and grabbed her bag before leaving the class room. The science teacher kept yelling at her to come back but she ignored him and ran right out of the building. As she ran down the street she skidded to a stop seeing to other people. There was a rusty ladder laying next to them. She didn't bother to say anything but just kept running. As she ran in she bolted up stairs. Simari flung open the door to her room and walked to the desk. She sighed in relief as she grabbed the music box. After that she began the walk back to school.
She loves her music box. xD}

He glanced to the girl walking away from them, noticing her hurry. "Don't run if you're not being in a sport." he said simply, kind of coming off as... well, rude.

When the girl woke up,her stepmother still hasn't come back home.Maybe I can go outside for some fresh air she thought.Dariya climbed upstairs and picked up her beloved music box and then put it into a small bag.She dragged the bag on both of her shoulders then stepped outside the house.The weather outside was nice,perfect for a walk around the neighbourhood.Wandering around.Dariya stopped at the sound of meowing.She glanced up,her gaze meeting a cat who was stuck in a tree.Since she was little,the girl was pretty good at climbing trees,so she decided to help the poor animal,especially when there was no one around.She left her bag next to the tree trunk and proceeded in climbing up the tree.The cat wasn't moving away when Dariya was approaching it,perhaps because it has stayed long enough there.The girl grabbed it as soon as she got to the branch and carefully climbed down.Dariya noticed that the animal was starving.It wasn't a surprise,seeing how it was stuck for probably days up there,this is why she dragged from her bag a sandwitch she made herself before leaving.Of course,cats are very picky on their food,this is why Dariya gave it only the meat in it.

Background: Rory was 12 when her mother died, her father went out drinking every night and left her older brother John (who was 20), to take care of her. Rory loved her brother very much. They would watch movies, eat popcorn, and have an awesome time together. One night, a fire started in their house when Rory's dad was out drinking. John grabbed Rory some food, water, and an extra set of clothes, and some other miscellaneous items, and stuffed them in a sack, he put it on Rory's back and without thinking, tossed her out the window, away from the fire. "JOHN!" Rory screamed, but it was too late. He was gone. She ran away from the house, crying.
Later on, she found a little hole in an oak tree and layed down her blanket and laid down. She realized there was something in her sack though, she opened it. It was John's music box! She wept happily that she had something that reminded her of John. She played it and soon fell asleep, dreaming of John.
The next morning she woke up and saw a silver Labrador puppy. It looked at her with cute blue eyes and she picked it up carefully. "Aww, your so cute!" The pup yipped happily and licked her cheek. She named him 'Spud'. Rory unpacked a rope that John had put in the sack, and tied it loosely around the puppy's neck. She packed the blanket and the music box and they set off into the woods and from then on, became a loner, with Spud...

Xavier watched the girl start to dig through the depths of her bag. Once seeing that she planned to open the cellar, he shook his head... the first faint glimpse of amusement crossing his face; however, the pleasant smirk took it's leave as soon as it arrived. "Ah, breaking in now? Sure you're not breaking the law?" he said in his monotone voice, though looked at her with his blank pale eyes, slightly giving off the aura that he meant it jokingly. Apparently, his dull cover made him a very, very advanced book to read.
