Title: Aro'Kai: Artstyle.
Post by: Brokami on November 04, 2013, 06:44:31 am
After making this comparison, I was surprised to find that I actually prefer Aro'Kai's character models and textures to those of FeralHeart. What's your opinion?

I would expect the Aro'kai's lion to look more professional. They been at it for like what....3, 4 years.

I must give props, that is a really excellent-looking model and texture. My opinion, too well done, really reflects on the creators' vision of the project. ~

Well, the Aro'Kai model is more professional-looking, since that is what they were basically aiming for - A realistic style. As Feareh mentioned, their models are more professional since they are taking their time with the game. Feral-Heart's models give more of a cartoon-ish sort of look to it. Both are nice, but if I did have to pick which looked more detailed, or slightly better, I would choose the Aro'Kai model, since I prefer this one a tad bit more.~
(Then again, both can be professional-looking, but it all depends on how the maker wants their creation to look (or what somebody else prefers) - realistic or not.)

I like Aro'kai's for it's more realistic, and feral heart is more cartoony, so both balance out :3

Feral heart is more lion king-yish

Aro'kai is more lion documentary-yish :3

Both balance out <3

That is why we mostly all love them :3

Now that I think about Feral Heart's model is a little unappealing. It has some sort of strange Un-canny valley effect to it.
It looks like the cute cartoony classic look of Impressive Title, combined with realistic, and it looks alittle off.
Mainly the faces. It's the eyes that adds that odd effect to it.

I'd agree that Aro'kai has better graphics but let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
Just think that making presets on Aro'kai may be a tad more complex due to such high resolution?

Just a thought, I guess. I'm 50/50, but who knows how long it will take until Aro'kai comes out?

It doesn't matter about the high resolution dealing with presets, really. It's a matter of how both models look.

I actually prefer the Feral heart one.

Maybe it's because I'm more used to the Feral models? But just something about the Aro'Kai style which i'm not too sure about. Sure it looks more realistic. But I guess i'd prefer Feral heart because it has it's completely own style. Whilst Aro'kai is just realistic looking.

Plus, the ears look a little strange. [I know I couldn't do any better but.]

Wow. Aro'Kai's are pretty professional. I love both. The ears on the Aro'Kai model do seem a bit strange to me though.

Whats the link to Aro'Kai?

Let's try not to bump old threads, friend. This particular thread has been inactive since last November.

Also, Aro'kai's website is http://www.arokai.proboards.com/ (http://www.arokai.proboards.com/) if I am correct. The game hasn't been released, yet, but you can sign up and check around their website to watch for progress if you wish.

Locking this.
