Title: Feralheart Map Maker Glitch/Crash
Post by: DemonicPlant on November 22, 2013, 09:47:48 pm
Okay, I made a really detailed map that I worked on for a few days and after a while of working, I tabbed out to do something. Once I got back on FH I saw that my map was gone and all I saw was sky and blue. I pressed my wasd keys, not sure if I was moving or not.
A few moments later my mouse froze and feralheart stopped responding.

What. The. Heck.

I close feralheart and restart it, re-opening my map. It's still clouds and blueness. I now am really concerned.
After trial and error, I go onto the actual game and click my character. I warp to my map expecting the worst.
It's fine. It loaded perfectly, everything is working, and I am really pissed that feralheart chose my map to be finished.

Please help me, my map wasn't done and now I can't modify it anymore! D:

I doubt the map disappeared, my best guess is that you left the game open whilst the "Q" was in motion in the map maker. Try aiming your coordinates to "Y=0, X=0 and Z=0" Follow them coordinated to view your map visible again or try "Test map" and trace a coordinate.

Good luck!

Not really, I froze when I moved. I tried "Test Map" and I was falling infinitely.

When you say you appear in blueness and clouds do you mean that there is no ground at all? It's possible your camera has moved out of the map boundary. Look at the heightmap in the top left corner, is the pointer arrow there? Does it look like this?

Click an area of the heightmap image while still in the Map Maker menu until it appears again:

If there still is no visible ground your camera may have zoomed out quite a bit. Look straight down and hold the W button until the ground is visible. You can press the =  and - button on your keyboard to change the camera speed.

These didn't work. I dragged my cursor to the map, and looked downward. No ground. I went a little down before feralheart stopped responding AGAIN. >_< I'm really bummed by this.
