You have to make a height map that makes valleys and hills. read the handbook for more info C: Oh, and if check off 'ocean' you'll get water that covers the land, and you can adjust the height to what you need
-
ok thanks :)
-
can i use paint for the height maps or do i have to get photo shop or Gimp?
-
I would use GIMP. Just as good as photoshop but free. However unless you have a table, it may be a bit hard to make height maps., but thats just my opnion =u=
-
Yes, you have to use PS or GIMP. I dont think paint can be converted to greyscale.
-
ok do you no the link to download GIMP? thanks :D
-
Just google it

:( :( :( :( I GIVE UPPP!!!! i downloaded gimp followed instructions on hand book but in my file terrain i have NO HIEGHT-MAPS!!! it doesnt say height maps :( why?
-
the handbook is slightly out of date. there is no longer a heightmaps folder. the 'watermill' folder has a heightmap you can use as an example C:

You can go to the C: part of your computer and find it there, yes. You can also right click on the FH icon on your desktop and click 'open file location'

You have to make custom heigh map. For heighmap to work it require:
1 It has to be a greyscale
2 It can only have only 1 layer, otherwise game will crash
3 Picture size should be 512x 512.
I use GIMP2 for my heighmaps but you can make greyscale pictures almost everywhere :)
