Post by: kcatd35 on December 31, 2013, 01:31:19 am
Me and my two friends keep crashing, When I crash a pop up appears and says "Feral Heart has stopped working" and when I press cancel on it, It kicks me off, Why is this happening and is this crashing?

Try changing your rendering system.

Like Ms. Ahkrin stated before me, changing your rendering system may reduce said misfortune. Try looking at the following tutorial to see if it helps ye':

Hmm. I asked for what you're experiencing happens to the lot of us if it's the server that's the problem. It all depends on the server really. For instance, if you log in and play in-game for a while then every so often you get a 'Failed to connect to front server' or 'Disconnected from map server', then that's just normal and it's basically the server being a little troll.

To change your rendering system, it should pop up when you first click on your Feralheart icon on your desktop. However, if it doesn't, then click on it simultaneously two or three times in order to launch more than one game. When you do that, a pop up will show, looking like this:

Click on the arrow pointing down next to the 'OpenGL Rendering Subsystem' and an option below it should say 'Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem' (or vice versa if you're already using the Direct3D9 subsystem). Merely click on that option then launch the game and see if anything changes.

Just like Starry said~

Also, try going into C: >>> Feralheart >> media > particles and delete any ending with _0 or _1.

Game is not starting or having graphical issues/glitches.

FeralHeart is a game like so many others out there, it needs a computer to do all the work so you can play it. Not everyone can just install the game and it works all perfect for them. Sometimes the computer might even be really old and the game too new. But if you got a computer from the last 5 years, playing this game shouldn't be any problem at all.

The ogre errors!
The ogre errors is something that users can get either when trying to boot up the game or when entering a custom map. These errors come directly from the game, and even though the error messages might look a lil messy, most of the time they actually clearly shows where the problem is. Ogre errors can also come up from broken installers that doesn't install all the files needed to run the game, and in these cases "The magical fix" usually solves this. Uninstall>re-download>Install with new installers.

An example of an ogre error below:

That one is pretty much straight out saying that the following file "Gui Template/Reminder" Is missing. And in this case, if something is missing, an uninstall and re-install should do the trick. But there can be other errors like "Items already using the name blabla" or "Failed to create OpenGL rendering". They can vary very much, some are easier to fix than others.'

If you look <here>, you will find a big list of previous ogre errors, and many of them with a solution. So take a look there. (Thanks to Shell Prisoner for making that thread)

Another way to change it:

Go into C: > Feralheart and find a file called orge. Open it with notepad, and the first line will say this:

Or vise versa. Change it to:
Code: [Select]
Render System=Direct3D9 Rendering Subsystem

Hmm, if it's happening to all of you, have you all downloaded something like a map? It could be duplicate particles in c: >>> Feralheart >> media > particles. Each of yew should go into that folder and delete any ending in _0, _1, _2, etc. Also, do exactly what is stated above. These should work.

Hmm, are you all using the same wifi for any chance? When multiple consoles are on one router, it can use something called bandwidth which is needed for FH to connect to the sever. Same goes for many browsers open at once. Try using FH without any other programs open. AND, try lowering all your video settings in FH. :3 Hope this helps.

No, We all live at different locations, We all are using different wifi, Now my mate can't get back on because it keeps telling him Can't connection to main server or something like that

Failed to connect to front server is another funky message you might get. Most of the time you get this either when your internet is down or the server is down completely. It can also be that your firewall or any other security software is preventing FeralHeart from accessing the internet. If it's the server and not your internet it should be sorted shortly and be back up and running, if it will be down for longer times the staff will let you know.

He keeps losing connection over and over, What does this mean?

If you are meaning that he is failing to connect, then:

Failed to connect to map server is a message you also can get while changing maps and entering portals in the game. It's usually nothing severe either, and as worst, your character might be stuck in that map until there's a reset of the map server process. Another issue similar to this can be if you get the loading screen after choosing a character, but it never loads. Most of the time it should be followed by this "failed to connect" message. If you try to choose another character that isn't placed in the same map, it sometimes let you play since every map in the game, has it's own server process. Sometimes the server needs to be restarted in order to fetch some stuck characters. If you had characters that's been stuck for weeks, you should contact the staff.

...try changing your Render System by going to (C:) Local Disk > FeralHeart > ogre.cfg

When you click it you will see a line which will say:

Render System=OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
[OpenGL Rendering Subsystem]

Replace OpenGL with Direct3D9 and go in-game.

However, if that doesn't work either, it may be a server problem so I suggest waiting for Feral Heart to calm down.

I hope this works.^^

In your case, it would be vise versa, meaning you would have to do the opposite.

Overall, I hope everything works out in the end.

Indeed as a few briefly mentioned here if you're all going through it at the same time while on one of the default maps chances are it's normal and it's just server derp. No need to worry. Just try using another map in the meantime or just waiting it out patiently up until it sorts itself.

Well, We went to fp and my mate kept losing connection,  I didn't have any problem, and my friend had to complete shut down her computer and leave for the day, Cause her game was glitching,  she kept popping in have the controls to another persons char and able to play as them, Was that a glitch or something?

And then my other friend was appearing then a few seconds later she lost connection, Is this a glitch or something or is it maybe her wifi that's causing the problem?

Please don't double post, k?^^ You can always modify your post by looking at the right hand-top of your post.

Crashing in Fluorite Plains is quite common, actually. As I quoted above you need to change your rendering system.

Yes that is a glitch. Try going Home to end the "controlling another character" glitch, for your friend.

Also, you may need to reset your characters.
