I'm sorry if this has been asked, but I need personal help. I bought a new laptop solely so I could design and have a better player's experience on FeralHeart, but DirectX seems to be having issues.
So my laptop is a Packard Bell (Acer) laptop with 4GB and 500GB of RAM. It runs Windows 8 and all that. I booted up the computer, let it create the default files, etc. The next day I opened it up again and decided to download FeralHeart. At the point where it installs DirectX, it said: ''The computer has discovered an internal error. Check your DXError.log and DirectX.log to find the cause of the problem.'' or something along those lines. (The log parts mightn't be right, but you should know what I mean by now) After that it said ''FeralHeart.exe has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution to the problem.'' and it shut down. I reinstalled, it still didn't work. I reinstalled again - nope. I even tried to download DirextX alone, but it came with the same internal error popup again.. Please help me. DX

Well.. I never had a newer Packard Bell. I only had ones with old Windows.
So. I have Windows 8, Have you tryed to re-start your comupter? Or tryed un-install DirectX and re-installing it?
Also can you tell me if it is a Laptop or Desktop?

Well it's a Packard Bell running Windows, so.. And yes I've tried restarting and reinstalling both programs. I guess I'll have to try reinstalling DirectX again. Does FH run on the DirectX from 2010? Oh, and it's a laptop. A brand new one. :L
I downloaded FH again and when it goes to install DirectX it goes back to the internal error and such. So I downloaded DirectX alone, and it went back to the same internal error. Anyways, when I tried to open FeralHeart it goes as shown:
FeralHeart.exe - System Error
The program can't start because d3dx9_42.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
Then it went back to the good ol' FeralHeart.exe has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution error. I don't get it though.. I downloaded both programs many times but to no avail.

[Woops, computer glitched and I double-posted by accident.]

Alrighty...
I suggest that you download that missing file from here:
http://download.dll-files.com/c6a44fc3cf2f5801561804272217b14d/d3dx9_42.zip?0WKlX0WIlP (http://download.dll-files.com/c6a44fc3cf2f5801561804272217b14d/d3dx9_42.zip?0WKlX0WIlP)
Once downloaded place that file into your main Feral Heart folder and hopefully that should have your game up and running. Goodluck.

Thank you Sura!
It opened the window and the settings thing where you pick your rendering system and such, but it went back to the FeralHeart.exe has stopped working popup. Should I try to change my rendering system from the ogre.cfg file?
I changed it manually but it still went back to the stopped working error.. What should I do now? c:
Meanwhile, I'll look for a solution in other help threads.
Nope! It's working now! Thank you! <3
