Could you be a bit more specific on what areas of preset making confuse you and perhaps we'd be able to give you a better explanation ^^?

Most people use a program called GIMP because it simulates Photoshop except its free

http://www.gimp.org/ (http://www.gimp.org/)

As for making the preset itself, check FH's dA page for guidelines to download that will help you with color coordination and/or use one of the premade presets in the preset_1 or preset_2 folders

Youtube has many preset tutorials using GIMP to make them, and I would advise sticking to something simple for your first preset before you start getting into the complicated things such as coding and abstract or complex designs

First, I'd recommend downloading this:

Gimp (http://gimp.com)

Some type of art program is necessary for making a preset.

After you download Gimp, follow one of these tutorials:

Rimfrost's Preset Guide (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=8149.0)

Official FH Preset Guide (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=9&Itemid=16)

My Tutorial Bin (First is Presets) (http://www.feral-heart.com/index.php?option=com_jfusion&Itemid=2&jfile=index.php&topic=40939.0)

If you have any questions, PM meh, or post here. o3o

EDIT: Like Shasta stated, try a simple pattern first before you dive into abstract patterns and complex scripts.

In the tutorials, it's very important to save the presets how they tell you to.

This is what I do,
1. Download preset ZIP file
2 Put everything in desired folder. (Like if the download folder says preset#)
3 Get on feralheart
4 Go to tools
5 Preset maker
6 Click the desired number
7 If it is white/yellow black then you did something wrong.

Star wants to know how to make a preset, not download. ^^

Like how do you get the patterns on one body part or how do you get a specific pattern and color, this is all confusing to me

Just look at ze tutorials. ^^

1. Go into Gimp.
2. Open C: >>> Feralheart >> my_presets > references and open one of the UV(s).
3. Color it in! Draw whatever you want on the preset part.
4. When you are done coloring it in, go into (IN GIMP) file > export, and export what you just colored to C: >>> Feralheart >> my_presets > preset_3. NAME/SAVE the body part as:

preset_3body.png
(^Or whatever body part you just colored. Head, tail, body)

SAVE AS A .png FILE FORMAT!

Then go in-game to preset maker and test it.
