Wow, don't remember the last time I've been on these forums. Anyway, back to topic... As I promised Thierry, I finally posted some sketching (http://fav.me/d73uc39) I have been practicing on. The Lion cub especially came out awesome cause I had a pencil with me this time (haha) and I had a little practice before on the adult male.
Hope you likez :P

I'm impressed by the sketch sir. It looks pretty realistic and I can tell ye've taken yer time with it. Ye'll definitely be an impressive artist if ye' continue to practice; I'm sure of it. What ye've displayed thus far is interestin' to say the least.
+floof for yer hard work. Keep it up.

Thank Ye Vespian. Really appreciate it!
Mah ultimate goal, really, is to draw fur realistically.

Excellent job on the artwork, Raphilion! I admire how realistic the drawing looks. Keep up the wonderful work here; I look forward to seeing more from you.

Thanks OreoHeroz! Too sweet ;)
If you see the work of artists like Eric Wilson, you'll see I have a long, long way to go. Hehe. Thank you all, so far, for your supportive comments. Of course, a nuzzle isn't only a one way deal.
It is only the beginning and I do hope to become less lazy and more proactive in the art field. If something good does come up, I'll be sure to post it here.

That's really good Raphilion! The detail is very good along with the shape of the lion. How long did it take you? It takes me, like, a million years just to get outlines and basic details(not really). Lol

Thanks AlbinoGhost! (Interesting username btw).
The cub took me about an Hour. Before these two sketches on my DA, I would attempt to sketch from memory which is damn tricky. Every time I would end up thinking I got some detail or proportion wrong. That's basically how I started and I guess it helped me get the main detail right. Also I would look for specific points on the image itself (kinda like navigation) to help determine exactly where to place the nose, for example or how far to take a line. In other words, I drew an imaginary map in my mind while cross-referencing with the photograph.
Hope I answered your question :)

I think it's very good and not at all 'Amateur' c: I love the other sketches you did aswell. Keep up the lovely artwork, practise makes perfect!
-
Oh shucks, I knew I spelt 'Amateur' wrong! Haha, oops. Have a *Floof for that.
Thanks, ey ;) I called it amateur cause it's only the beginning of my ultimate goal.
Just wanna thank you all again for awesome comments, and for helping me pass my 4HRs of guard duty in a post with 'almost' full reception of good Internet. The 2 passing bush pigs barely helped me spend that time lol.

Amateur?! That's very lovely!

Very nice work you have here. Your knowledge, and use of the feline anatomy is quite impressive, No doubt you will be an amazing artist with further practice! Keep up the great work. +Floof.

Thanks Accailia. Just practice and you'll be able to draw realistically.
Thank you Zena. Yeah, I guess it does help to know. With practice, we all become really good at something(s). :) Shot for the Floof, have one as well.
