Alright, I'm seriously annoyed here, so here comes a rant. So, some people were talking to a kit who wanted to join their roleplay. (S)he was unrealistic and had some sort of items, so they kept telling her/him:
"We're not being rude, we're trying to tell you to change your complete character design!" 1. Are you serious? -- People have the freedom to create their own characters. If you don't like them, ask them to make a NEW one and not change their entire character! 2. No, of course, not rude at all.
So, I, being defensive of people's freedoms, of course I nudge in!
Here's how it went. (changing the names, and note that Haunted was talking as well, I just didn't put it in there, also this is the REAL dialogue, I'm reading it from my FH window)
(a wolf--not in the roleplay)<Hawk> Hauntedkit, your entire charry is unrealistic from the colors to the items to the name. He's patiently asking you to change the whole thing all together.
(me)<Hyla> Not to intrude or anything, but Haunted, if you love that character and dislike changing, maybe you could ask to make another character?
<Hawk> Hauntedkit, try for a shade of grey or brown or even white, but anything inbetween is rediculous. Have you read the books?
<Hyla> (No offense Hawk, but calling other people's characters ridiculous is extremely rude.)
<Hawk> ...(and Hyla, I was calling the colros rediculous, but thanks)
<Hyla> It's still rude, Hawk. People have the freedom to create the own characters they want. Hell, I have a blue wolf with eyes all over it and I've gotten yelled at so many times for being unrealistic and stupid.

<Hawk>Great, Hyla! but this is a warrior cat, now butt out unless you have something useful to say!

Wow. I'm really, REALLY mad about this right now. I just can't believe this. Hawk wasn't even a warrior cat, he was a wolf! Like??? No, you don't have the rights to talk to me either. I went on ranting angrily just now. Ugh. Does anyone else have similar instances/things to say about this??

It's awful that those people were being rude to you like that. You were only trying to help. There's always going to be people who are just looking for excuses to argue with someone, even if it's someone who is trying to help another person out.
What you should have done was probably whisper Hauntedkit to try and help him/her in their situation. That way you wouldn't have those other people go and tell you off like that.

This has happened to me NUMEROUS times, on BOTH of my accounts. >.<
For Example:
Me, sitting at SB, points out to a few friends that some wierdo was looking for an 'extremely LITERATE, ACTIVE WC RP' and that he sounded like a stuck-up literate dude.
I accidentally posted it in local, and not party.
He started to rage at me, talking about how "Oh, I bet YOU'RE not literate, Ms. Your-A-Snob"
We ended up having a conversation that included the entire of SB about how I never CALLED him a snob, I just said he SOUNDED like one.
And how he did, and how yata yata yata...
It was crazy, until the he said "Screw this, all of you are jerks. Hope you have fun ruining people's enjoyment." and blocked most of us.

Those people are indeed very rude. First, what do they even know about item pack? The poor Hauntedkit could've simply had a different one. Second, there's many realistic colors that are other from grey, brown and white. No, the other colors are not ridiculous. Did he say that just because "they're not in the books"? What about Ravenpaw, who was mainly black, or Firestar, who was ginger. I don't see how their colors are ridiculous, plus, they were both important characters.
Now, they had no reason being so rude to you. Like you said, Hawk was a wolf, and he still told you to butt out because they were talking about a warrior cat. What you had said was very useful and applies to warrior cats. A person can have an unrealistic character but still be quite an enjoyable presence when you get to now him/her.
And what even told them that Hauntedkit didn't knew the whole WC drill. That person could've been in RPs before and wanted to make a less realistic character.

I can't believe this happened to you (I feel like I know snakepaw from somewhere) and about the pelt color just like FallenstarOxO said there many more then from gray,brown,and white. There are golden,cream color,and there are tortoiseshell which has more than one color
And about the name there are many names I myself have a cat name Metalstar, and have seen many cats with different names but those people saying to change HAUNTEDKIT they must not have been on there long
And about being in the books in nowhere in the books is there a cat called Snakepaw.

Some people on FeralHeart haven't very nice manners, but we all have our off days. Some of us just get annoyed quite quickly, and though I am not fond of it either it happens. I think making a thread about this was a great way to express your opinion without ranting in the game. Snakepaw might have been attempting to prevent a further argument, but y'know. I am not agreeing with his tone or anything. Anyways, sorry this happened to ya.

If that was me in your shoes, I would have been SO mad I would have thrown my computer outta the window. I have read every.single.warrior.cat.book.that.there.is. and the charries are NOT just gray, brown, and whatever else they said. Think of Firestar, he's basically friggin ORANGE! Has Hawk read the books?

Same happened to me. I made a lioness, bit unrealistic but unique and i liked her. Then i joined a pride and then a 'realistic' and literate lioness told the leader that she has unrealistic lioness in her pride- me. The leader didn't matter, but the lioness said "I thought that this is a semi-realistic pride. I'm sorry but can you change your lioness, because you look like a warrior cat". Of corse i didn't changed it and left the pride. So yeah :/ there are alot of rude people out there, i would recommend to keep your character and find another group.

I have to agree with this- There are many popular item packs throughout FH. And just because you see a bracelet instead of a twig shouldn't mean anything. You never know what item pack the player has.

Exactly. Black, grey and white are NOT the only colors in the books. I can name a few of the Warrior Cats who had 'unrealistic' colors. Sandstorm, Hawkfrost, Brakenfur ,etc.
Anyways, sorry this has happened to you. It's a shame people can be so hostile towards 'unrealistic' and helpful people. +Floof

Once I've made a character similar to one person and she 1st reported me, 2nd blocked meh, 3rd told some lies to MOD
I was like
'Girl, I see you for the first time of my life GOD'
And thenn I got in some problems with staff member (Don't wanna say who he/she is) :I

Everyone is a noob in the beginning of time. She's just jealous because your awesome. Everyone gets more experienced and I guess she got too full of herself thinking she's an "expert"...I bet you know more than her :P
