So recently I figured out how to make meshes and figured out the tedious effort behind it and all. I know how to make presets (obviously, I've got a shop in the forums XD). And I figured out how to make maps, and that was ages ago closer to the time I joined FeralHeart.
But now, I want to know how to make items that you can equip on your character.
I'm not going to be anonymous about it, OreoHeroz requested this epic preset from me, and asked that I also include the item even if I have to draw it (I mean it's optional, but I really didn't want to leave it unfinished). Can it be drawn? Sure, but it won't look like it should.
I looked around for simple item-making tutorials but I can't find any >.<
I need to know what's required to make items so that I can do Oreo's full preset, and not just the character. More specifically, I need a gas mask for the preset, but I looked around and I couldn't find one anywhere XD
I have Blender too and I know its basic functions... let's just say I definitely need practice in how to use it XD
Thank you to anyone who can offer help~
x'D I just started moving into the art of mesh making, also. The might help:

Also, you will need a few things for Blender to be label to export as a .xml > .mesh.
...
These will be helpful:
I. - Required Downloads & Installation
-If you have newer versions of any of these, move/delete them, they won't work. You MUST have the exact downloads below.
**If you do not have a program that can open .rar files, you'll need 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org/).
Python (http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.6.2/python-2.6.2.amd64.msi)
Blender (http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.49b/blender-2.49b-windows.exe)
Download and install Python and Blender first.
Secondly, you'll need these scripts for Blender.
Exporter (http://www.xullum.net/lefthand/downloads/temp/BlenderExport.zip)
Script Bundle (http://download.blender.org/release/Blender2.49b/blender-2.49b-script_bundle.zip)
Once you have the scripts downloaded, you'll need to EXTRACT the contents, and copy them to the scripts folder, located in
C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts
OR
C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts
Conclusively, you'll need the
Old OgreCommandLineTools (http://www.mediafire.com/?85wdd1ngexywjb3).
Pass: ITOCLT
Once you have downloaded the .rar, extract it directly to your C: drive. Don't worry, there is a folder inside the rar, so extracting it directly won't cause the contents to spill all over your C: drive.
Make sure you download everything above, including the old Blender because the newer version isn't compatible with Python, exporter, etc. c:
I'm still working on texturing a mesh, but I'll PM you how to once I learn.
Gewd luck!
Also, this belongs in game-help.
EDIT: I'd recommend AC3D if what is above doesn't work/to complicated. AC3D has it's own .mesh exporter, therefor it's much easier. The downside? There is a 14 day trial, and when that's finished, you have to pay for it. :c
Oh I read the "Item Coding" manual and I think I know how it works now...
I figured out how to make meshes with Blender a while ago, but the thing that got me was how to bring items you made into the game, but now that I read that... I think I may understand how it works now XD
Maybe o-o
