Have you ever had problems with character copiers?

Hm, well I'l say yes. Few times exactly the same person copyed my character hahah. Well I had to deal with it so I did someth lul.
Anyways, I also had problems with 'me' being a ''character copier''.
I made a similar character as one person I never knew.
People started to talk that I am character copyer.
Since I didn't want to cause any troubles again, I just deleted that character. :I
That is not a pretty thing in my FH history..
OH AND
I used my character Grace Brisbane a lot in SP and a girl came with SAME character and same NAME and said: Oh mer gawd you copied me!!!!!! I MADE THIS CHARACTER 4 YEARS AGO WHAT THE FU*K
I was like..

Anyways, have you ever been claimed as ''character copier'' or have someone ever copied your character?

I have never directly copied a character. :/ They were the original creators of the character so, I think they shouldn't have to deal with others who couldn't use their own imagination.
But, yus, people have copied my characters.
Once I was sitting in FP with a friend if mine:
Me (Sagitta): (Insert random convo here)
(Whisper chat, character copier): Hey, I liked your character so I made a copy of it.
(Whisper chat, character copier): hope you don't mind
(Whisper chat, AlphaEclipse): This is my OOC, I'd be very grateful if you didn't.
Then they stopped whispering me.

Me (Xylina, old OOC): (random convo)
-Random person appears next to me-
Random Person: *Poofs and reappears looking a bit more like me*
Me: o-o
Random Person: *Poofs again, next to me, looking more similar*
Me: *Poofs to another map*
That was interesting.
Anyways, character copiers can be quite annoying. But, there is nothing you can do because you can't copyright a character's markings. But, if it were a preset, there would be an issue.

Well looking at your character I do need to be honest with ya. I have mentioned this to another person with the same situation as well and it's really really hard to claim copyright when your character is so basic. Really you look like prehaps half of what regular lioness are suppose to look like. Plus also the character looks like a Lion King character so you can't really claim it since in reality it's a character that is owned by Disney.
However if they are going around with your name making a bad rep for you, then that's when it's a problem.

Ah, yes... I've had problem with these types of people before. I think of, 'Character Copiers' like this: They think your character is awesome, so they made another that looks like you because they are too lazy to make a good character. It's not that hard to make a character honestly. There is PLENTY of options to choose from, there shouldn't be an answer saying, "I couldn't think of a cool design". This is why I love MassMarkings. Not everyone can see them, so decreases your chances of getting copied.
It tends to be more of the people with the original markings that are copying. Here was one situation where someone copied me:
Me: *Sitting on a rock in Ficho Tunnel*
Character Copier: *Sits next to me*
Me: *Sees them, feels a bit annoyed. I then whisper them*
"Hey, do you mind that you change your character a little? It looks awfully similar to mine, which makes me think you copied me. Not very happy with that." >.>
Character Copier: "No way, dude. You COPIED ME! I'm the real Summit (Name of my character). Plus I got more swag than you." What the heck?
Me: "You want to play that game? Check out my bio. Does it seem like YOU *coughs* a character copier *coughs* would have typed? NO."
Character Copier: *Quickly copies the bio, even though he has no idea what the words mean*
Me: "Just GO. I dop not like people who copy my character. It shows disrespect and it's nothing but rude."
Character Copier: "Whatever." *Blocks*
These types of things is NOT a game I like to play. I absolutely dislike them. Nobody has the right to copy a person's appearance without their approval. This is why I stick to MassMarkings and presets. Not everyone can see your look, therefore, less chance of getting copied.

It has happened to me only one time so far. They copied my characters name, size, and markings, but the color was off a bit. I just ignored them and continued as to what I was doing.
Often times if someone did intentionally copy your character; same name, size, color, markings, and bio, they are just trolling and trying to start a fight. It looks that way with the story Aero posted above. What you got to do is ignore them and block them if they are being really annoying. If they start harassing you, saying that you copied them, start swearing and such, take screenshots and report them.
Like others have said, we cannot really copyright a character here.

My god... This pisses me of just reading about it. Must've been frustrating. Luckily, I've only had one or two minor cases. Nothing too bad, such as this.

Well, honestly I take it as a compliment if someone copies your character, though others might not, they clearly like how your character looks. But when they come up and accuse you of 'copying' their character.
Eheh.. That's a different story..
I'd normally just try and calm them down and leave them alone if they get angry.
But this one, THIS DAMN ONE, had to cross the line .3.

Randomer : OMG! YOU COPIED MY CHARACTER!
Me: Excuse me..?
Randomer: YOU HEARD ME!!!!! CHARACTER COPIER! ALL OF YOUR CHARACTERS AREN'T YOURS!
Me: Sorry, but you copied my character, tell me exactly, when did you make that character?
Randomer: TWO DAYS AGO.
Me: Someone broke their caps Eheh, well I made this character 2 months ago, so do you mind changing your character slightly so it *doesn't* copy mine?

Randomer: NO, MY CHARACTER IS F****** FANTASTIC YOU SON OF A *****, YOUR'S IS RETARDED!!!!!
Me: Okay thats f*derp*ing it, get lost. I don't need you accusing me of copying my OWN character.

Hmm, I do recall one time when this amazingly chillaxed person joined my group..
Basically, she joined the group with her own character, and after a while, poofed back with the exact replica of my own. She continued to joke around as if they were "twin sisters" or some crap like that before sitting on me. I did a little rage-fit inside of me and whisper-threated her to delete the character since it was my own design. She didn't respond, but after a while, I saw her on her own character.
Sometimes it angers me, yes, but it's nothing you can really stop unless you go and calmly tell the person who copied your character to change it. If copying was against the rules- staff would get over 100 messages a day by someone who claimed somebody stole their character, when actually it would only be a couple of same markings and pelt colors. It's really no big deal, besides, it justs means someone out there really likes your character. uwu
