Title: Problem
Post by: Ivory75 on January 30, 2014, 02:43:29 am
So, FH has been giving me problems. Everytime I go to open it and at the loading screen for the sing in page, it stops loading and responding. Then it says: Feral Heart.exe has stopped working and closes the window. So I checked my files, and some folders were missing:

Does anyone know how to fix this? I've tried deleteing it completely and reinstalling it, but when I do, it shows up with the same files gone.

I'm afraid you'll have to uninstall.
Go into control panel > uninstall a program. Uninstall FH and make sure FH's files/folders are completely gone.
Then, reinstall from this site. o-o I have never seen this before.

Like Alphabutt stated, you'll have to install. Remember to back up any important files (such as if you are working on a map) just in case so that you can replace it.

Do you know what missing files you are actually missing?
Perhaps take a look at this thread a person made that has links to missing files parts to see if any of them are what you need.

I'd save any screenshots, presets, or downloaded maps you have, uninstall, and then reinstall the program. ;)

Hmm...

Try uninstalling again, then restart your PC. Then reinstall.

If that doesn't work:

Try doing a system restore. That could work, but I'm not promising it. ;~; If I think of anything else, I'll PM ya'.

Hi there, Ivory!
This is strange. I am afraid is might be your actual PC.

If you click the uninstall button in FeralHeart's actual folder maybe it will help. However - this does not remove all of the folders sometimes. You need to manually delete them. Also, empty your recycling bin. Then restart, then reinstall. Perhaps this will work? Sorry none of our tips are working.

I agree with Aniuk- This isn't FH that is causing this. Have you reciently downloaded anything?

Also, you could try this:

(Looking through Hidden Folders on Your PC)

1. Go to your Control Panel on your PC. Look here:

2. Click Personalization, and go to folder options. Click show hidden folders.

3. Click what is checked here:

See if any folders pop up in the FH folder, which I don't think they will anyways. It's very strange that they would be hidden in the first place.

Maybe it's possible you have a PC virus? I'm not promising it, but it could be the reason for missing files/folders.
If you don't have an anti-virus, scan your PC with this:
MalwareBytes (http://malwarebytes.org)
If that finds anything, delete it then restart your PC. Then maybe try reinstalling FH.

I know FH sometimes has missing .dll(s), and other files, but never entire folders. Maybe the download is corrupted for on the browser your using? Try another browser, for example, Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.

Again, good luck with this. ;~;

Again, if I think of anything else, I'll post here!

x-x I've tried all of it, there was no viruses or problems found, or at least I wasn't told about. I tried reinstalling after and the same result.

Look's like we're going to need to get a little creative, Ivory XD
Perhaps try manually deleting all your FH files, (keep your eyes peeled for anything irregular) And then try reinstalling. like i said before, if the problem is going to get solved we'll need to think creative ;) Good luck though, even though that probably didn't help at all XD
