Title: User or Real names?

Here's a simple topic that's been on the brain some time. When referring to your friends or people you've met, do you like to address them by their user, character, or real name? Often times, people don't mind either or while some like to be called upon on a certain name to know you're talking to them (usually depending on their name, for example, two Whitefangs or the other person very familiar under a singular name).

I often take to referring people by their user or character name. I like to have the courtesy in doing so because, well, they like their alternative identity. Why not respect it? Even when I'm in a private chat with them, I still refer to their user. Occasionally I'll throw their real name to them, however, it would be either for serious conversation or to make a inside joke.

How about you all? What do you address people with? Their user, nickname, real name?

Well, good question! Forum-wise I call people by their Username. On the game, I call people their character name. And in  real life, their name. x3

 Well it just basically depends on the person really. Some people don't mind, and some people do. Honestly if you know the person long enough then im sure its fine to call em by there real name. But generally I always call people by there forum name or username/nickname on here.

Here on the FH community, I usually address someone by their character name. There are some times when I call someone by their username. I never call anyone by their real name because... well I don't know anyone's real name here. Except one, but I refer to him by his username.  :D

An interestin' topic ye've created here brother. When it comes to alternative dimensions such as Feralheart for example, I automatically refer to each individual as their character's name or username. I only address those who I've grown acquainted with as a nickname I've given them with their approval; though rarely will I ever address another as his/her actual name, even if it's someone I've known for years, unless they insist I do so. As madam Feareh stated before me, it generally depends on who I am conversin' with and their personal preference.

 for example if I've known someone for
quite some time and I'm familiar with their
infinite fursona, I'll address them with that
No matter what character or account they're on
As for addressing people by their user, I usually only
Do so when I'm trying to get an important point
Across to them >u< An character names are for
The casual friends I have here and there.

For me it depends on the person. Sometimes I'll call someone by their username and sometimes with the character name. It depends on who I'm talking to, really.

Most of the time, people call me by the name they know me as. So, I usually always go on Link or Xia (or others, of course), and then people will call me Link or Xia. If I really trust the person, I give them my real name. They are aware of it, but never really use it because it is a rather odd name. My username on FH is AeropostaleWolf, so a few people have called me Aero over my experience on the game. Most of the time though, it's what they recall me by.

I prefer to call people by they're user name rather than their character, or a nick name if they have one. I tend to forget about certain characters people have and end up forgetting names, I'm not usually too familiar with characters other than my own. Assuming everyone has a differently named character it can get confusing with anyone else with the same named character, considering no one has the same username I just find it makes things easier xD If I want to ask about the character I would refer to the name rather than the username.

Out of a roleplay I normally go by Mocha. My close friends call me Rat thou. :P Genrally I call people by there fourm name, unless its a close buddy.
