Role: Scientist
Personality: Abridge rarely ever hesitates to speak, or more specifically, to insult. She is very hot-headed and quick-tempered, and her obsessive habit of drinking doesn't help. She is very dedicated in her work of researching viruses and diseases, rather than getting herself involved with the DNA field.

There is a long hallway with doors along the walls.  Each room has about eight normal cells.  Each room has a lamp and a matrice.  There are horizontal metal bars.  Often only one person in each room but there are execptions some times.

Chasy sat on the single matress in her cell. She stared out of the bars, deep in thoughts and memories. Her gaze shifted as she heard footsteps coming down the hall. Her gaze locked on to the gaurds as he walked past. He was a rather tall man with broad shoulders. He seemed familiar but se put it at the back of er mind. She shot a bolt of electricity at the wall in her cell, not daring to do more than that. She didn't want to end up in chains like some others.

Asher flinched when the bolt struck, allowing a small yelp to excape his mouth.  He looked at the cell holding Chansy, knowing it was her.  He shook himself and a loose feather drifted slowly to the ground.  His brown eyes watched it as he fell.  Once it at landed he sighed.  He picked up the feather and examined it.  He hated when feathers fell out but he could use them as pens by dipping them into grinded coal.  He took his papers, his coal and the feather to draw in the corner he sat in.

Caleb stood in the middle of his cell,  his eyes narrowed and a look of annoyance on his face.
"Your going to get yourself in trouble.  Adams has no tolerance to stuff like that."  He warned.

Chansy narrowed her eyes at the boy she knew as Caleb. "Think I care about what Adams tolerates?!" She snapped and sent another strike at the wall. "That man doesn't frighten me one bit. If I get in trouble, I get in trouble." She spat irritably and slouched down on the mattress.

(Ah, sorry. I must've forgotten about this...)

Abridge was quietly examining the research papers of the DNA testing, even though she didn't want to get herself involved in such things. She only took the job here only to study. She bolted upright when a loud crack of thunder emitted from the hallway.

"Must be the one with the, uh, lightning powers." Zeela said, who was busy eating a rare-cooked steak beside of Abridge. Soon after, they both jumped as another clap echoed through the building.

Caleb shrugged, a smile grin on his face.
"People here do show favoritism.  Just look at Asher."  He said.  Asher looked up from his page at the sound of his name, a questioning look on his face.
"He doesn't do anything so they let him have more things, like that book."  Caleb said, then he flopped down onto his bed.

Asher couldn't think of an argument, it was true.  Asher never got into a fight and did what he was told so they were more leaniant with him.  He stiffened when he noticed the bars on the cells vibrating.  The bars made an annoying metallic ringing.  But other time it loud enough that he was hurting his ears.  He put on a worried frown, knowing who was coming.

Adams was a proud man, he was strong and feared by most of the Gifteds and DNAs in the labs.  He wore a clean uniform, light blue shirt and grey jeans with the lab logo.  He heard the disruptive sounds in one of the rooms.  Adams didn't like much violence if it wasn't needed, this Gifted just needed to be put in her place.

Chasy fiddled with a bolt of lightning between her fingers. Her gaze flicked over to Adams who was coming towards her. She grinned. "Oh hello Adams, need something?" She questioned hastily, sending a small spark at the wall.

The ringing got so loud that Asher needed to hold his hands to his ears.  His feathers seemed to push into his body.  He stared out at the back of the large man outside.

Adams stood outside of Chasy's cell, his arms crossed and staring right at her.
"Yes I think I do.  Do you know that the animals we use for the DNAs are right beside this room and loud sounds tend to freak them out.  When the animals are freaking out the scientists can't use them for anything.  So would you kindly stop blasting bolts into the wall?"  He said.

Caleb held back a laugh.
"Because your not making noise right now."  He murmured.

Chansy stood up sending a strike at the same wall. "Why I could but that would mean animals would be tested on. Now, I don't want that." She snapped irritably. "Also Adams, I've always wondered why a Gifted like you would help these people. I always thought you were better then that, but I guess I was wrong." She said, twiddling a lightning bolt between her fingers.

"Because I am not an idiot.  I was born here and I had a choice to sit around in a cell or do something productive.  Why would anyone not choose what I have?"  Adams reached out and took hold of one of the metal bars holding Chansy in her cell.
"And also, the animals in that room.  Are only to be used to take DNA from them for other tests."  Then the bar beginning to vibrate and produce a sound so loud that it would force Chansy to have to stop what she was doing and cover her ears, or something.  Because no one could ignore what he was doing.  He felt a little bad for the two boys also in the room because they would have to suffer as well.

Asher folded his wings around him so his face could not be seen.  He rocked back and forth with his ears smashed between his head and his hands.

Caleb shoved his body into the corner and put his head between his knees.

Chansy glared at him furiously as he spoke. "Oh yes, and testingon other is s much bether." She snapped. She quickly covered her ears as he began to make an earsplitting sound. Before, though, she sent a lightnig bolt his way. Her gaze hardened as she dropped down to her knees. The sound was too much now, it began to hurt. "You idiot!" She shouted. "Nobody would want your job." She snapped over the sound.

The bolt was way off course and he just had to side step once to avoid it.
"You wouldn't know, would you?  You've never had my job."  Adams said after to released his grip on the bar and turned his back on her to leave.  He would return latter to punish her for sending the bolt at him.

Caleb rubbed his temples and waited for his cell to stop shaking, still in the corner.

Asher stayed in his place with his wings hugging his body.

 Abridge looked up from the notebook she was writing on. She rotated her seat so she could look behind her.

"Did you hear that?" She asked her colleague, pushing her glasses up her face.

"No. What'd you hear?" Zeela replied, now eating a little basket of buffalo wings.

Abridge cocked her head to the side, squinting at the wall. Zeela kept giving her a bizarre expression as she ate.

"Ah, it's gone now." Abridge confirmed. "Sounds as if it was from the cells."

Chasy stayed down on her knees, still recovering from the loud noise. Her ears were ringing and hurt worse than she thought they would. Her gaze dropped to the floor, but soon rose to face him. "Yes of course, I would hate it is why. I'm also much more dangerous than you would think.." She said the last words quietly so he wouldn't hear before sparks of lightning burst from her fingers. They didn't hit anything but they made a small hissing sound.

Adams ignored her and left the room.   He walked down the hallway past the room Abridge and Zeela were.

Once Caleb recovered he looked around the room.
"Are you guys ok?"  He asked.

Asher was still hiding away and would have stayed like that if Caleb hadn't spoke.
"I am ok, I guess.  But if she didn't do that I wouldn't have had that happen to me."  He glared at Chansy.

Abridge whipped around as she heard the snapping of fingers. Zeela was giving her a frown.

"You know, you should stop drinking so often. You're becoming more and more uncoordinated, and I'd say that's bad when you're working in a place full of dangerous creatures." Zeela conferred, discarding cleaned bones on one side of the basket. Abridge watched her with a blank expression, then coming to again at a snapping sound.

"Quit spacing out." Zeela declared.

"I can't help it, idiot." Abridge snapped, like the noise had angered her. "It's not my fault that I have to think deeply about what we are doing." The woman turned in her seat to face Zeela.

"We're working in a place were our own kind is being treated like lab rats, and I can't help but to think about what is being planned in the dark corners of the laboratory. What if these poor mortals will be sent out for the government's use?"

Zeela simply scoffed at her question and reached for a bottle of wine underneath the desk she was sitting in.

Adams looked over at the two women, a frown on his face.
"You do shouldn't be drinking, especially not here.  If the Gifteds don't get you the wild animals will."  He warned.  There was a quick high pitched sound and the bottle in Zeela's hand shattered, spilling its contents all over the floor.

Caleb slammed his hand on the ground and froze the part of the floor under his hand.
"I wish what you say was true, but it isn't.  If we wanted any rights we would have to fight for it and we wouldn't be the ones fighting.  It would be the people outside, if there is any."  He created a small iceball and was going to throw it but then though better of it.  He sighed deeply and started adding things to the ball to make a small ice sculpture.  He was allowed to use is power in his cell because unlike Chansy, his power didn't disrupt anyone.  He did once had into trouble when he froze over all the walls and floor, including the bars and lock so no one could get into his room.

Chansy sent another glare at Asher. "Ya know Asher, if you weren't always such a scaredy cat maybe you'd be able to stand up for yourself!" She shouted irritably. Oh how she was so tempted to strike him with a botl of lighting but that would only get her in more trouble. She huffed as she turned her attention back to Caleb. "It is true actually. If we actually tried, we could gain our own freedom." She snapped irritably. "Would the both of yah shut up?" A strange voice called. It was clearly a female.

Xena came out of the shadows of her cell."Yalls bickering is just gonna get you into more trouble." She said in a hiss like town, mainly due to the fact she had snake parts in her. "Now shut up and get over yourselves." She snapped, going back into the shadows. Many subjects in the lab knew her for her violant nature. Even the gaurds had to take precousions. She had taken one gaurds life because she bit him in the throat and it went straight to his brain, killing him minutes after the strike.

Asher stared down at his feet, it was true.  He was a scaredy cat, but that was just because he didn't want to get on the bad side of anyone.

Caleb looked over at Xena, unimpressed.  He raised one hand and froze a small part of the air above her head so the ice ball would fall right on her.  He wasn't afraid of her, she couldn't get to him.  Then he looked back at Chansy like he had did nothing.
"Are you saying you want to plan an escape?  Be careful, if anyone heard you talking about that you could end up in chains."  He warned then said in a lower tone.  "But I am not against it."

Chanst grinned at Caleb. "They can put me in chains if they want to. I'll yell it out to the world if I want to. That Adams character is clearly going to come back later. I can take that as my chance." She said in a lower tone.

Xena stepped out of the way and stood in the darkness of her cell. "Bad choice Caleb.." She narrowing her snake like eyes. She would have already bithim but they were seperated by bars of steel. Her forked tongue made her voice sound like a hiss. "Watch it boy." She hissed threateningly.

Zeela and Abridge watched as a man stepped into the room, and afterwards a loud, mysterious sound. The noise caused both of them to cover their ears, making whatever they held fall from their grasp.

"O-ow..." Zeela bitterly whined.

"Ah," Abridge groaned. "What was that for?" She questioned harshly, even though she had heard his statement on why before the incident.

Chansy's gaze flicked to the boy that was hanging from the wall. "Ya know, you should really watch your tongue! Do you speak to your family like that aswell?" She snapped. The last part was more of a tease. Chansy turned her attention to her hands. She sent another strike at the wall. Adams would have to do alot more than loud sounds to try and get her to stop.

"Umf." Caleb said as he shrugged. "I am not afraid of you.  As long as your behind bars you can't hurt me."  He said.  Then Kana caught his attention.  He stared at him with a pitiful frown.
"That may be true, but its stay here for the rest of your life or die trying to get your freedom."  He said, but even he was sure of those words.

Asher watched everything unfold without much input.  He was already worried just hearing about his plan, he did not want to die.  He had lost his memory before coming here and he was slowly learner about his past.  He wanted to know that before he died.
"How will you even do it?"  He asked.

Adams crossed his arms, an angry look on his face.
"I already told you that.  Or are you too drunk to remember anything?"  He said.

Chansy rolled her eyes and slouched down on the mattress. She put her head in her hands before letting small sparks of lightning escape her fingers. The sparks continued to make a hissig sound as she sat there.

Abridge looked up at the man, giving him a hazel-eyed glower.
"Now, do I seem intoxicated to you?" she sneered and pushed back a few bangs from her face. "I heard your statement, just not that clearly. Something about animals?"

"That was the last one I had..." Zeela grieved, peering down at the tiny pieces of glass on the floor.

Adams stood at the doorway of the room.  His arms were crossed again and his face showed boredom and enamusement.
"I said you shouldn't be drinking here, even on brake."

Caleb sat down the figure he was making.  The ball was now a large bird, with its wings open and ready to take flight and beak open.  He wasn't sure what type of bird it was, but he found that it didn't matter much.  So now they just wait until Adams shows up again.  Waiting was the only thing they did anyway, waiting for someone to come in a pull someone out for some test.  But they could summon him by disrupting the place like what Chansy had done.  But he would just do the same thing as before which wouldn't help at all.

Alex let out a low moan. Her head hurt. Everything hurt. And the ground...the ground was cold. Why was she on the ground? She opened her eyes, squinting, trying to make sense of her surroundings. Alex fuzzily recalled walking home from somewhere and now she was...where? Her head hurt to much to try probing anyone's memories; if there even was anyone else here. Metal bars came in to focus. 'Am I in a prison?' Alex thought, starting to panic. She stumbled over to the door and gripped the bars calling out, "Hello! HELLO?! Where am I? What's going on!"

 "And what about other drugs?" Zeela taunted and reached into her pants pocket. She pulled out a small bottle of capsules with no label and brandished them at Adam.

"Really, no rule against it?  So if I go and report you two you wont be punished?  Use your common sense.  Unless your to pumped up on drugs to even do that."  Adams pushed away the bottle in his face and turned away from them.  He decided he would punish that Gifted differently because it was clear she had learned nothing from what he had done.  So he pick up a weapon then return.  Nothing serious, just a poll or something.

"Ya, because we can attack someone though the bars."  Caleb said, rolling his eyes.

Asher flinched when the new voice echoed in the room.  He quickly pinpointed the person.
"Hell."  He said softly.

Alex closed her eyes, trying to clear her mind enough to get a read on others'. All she heard was static and all she felt was misery. Whether it was coming from herself or the others was impossible to tell. She slumped down, trying to steady her breathing.

Keith played with his tail idly. His ear twitched and through all the commotion that always seemed to go on he heard Asher's muttered response. He laughed, wryly. "Hell indeed." he said to himself. Adams responded by raising his arm that held the pole and swung it down so it hit Chansy right in the chest.

Asher flinched as the pole struck down and hit Chansy.  He let a deep, worried sigh escape.  He was afraid of how this would turn out.  Chansy would have to knock Adams out if she wanted to get the keys to let the others out.  But she do that?  Or would she try to make it on her own?  Others had tried that before and never succeeded.

Chasy let out a yelp of pain. The blow knocked the breath out of her. She recovered rather quickly and rushed around him shooting another bolt. "Why hit someone who is practically defenseless?! Is that how you raised Adams? As a monster." She spat irritably as she backed against the cell door to get as far away as possible.

Being that it has a bolt of lightning it was quite difficult to dodge.  The bolt hit him in the shoulder.  His body seemed to overly shiver.  It only lasted it a few seconds but it left him a little confused.  He took a step forward and almost slipped.  He glanced at the ground and found that it had frozen over in a small patch.  He took up his stance, adoviding the patch.  He lifted the poll to strike her again and swift ringing started to sound.

 Zeela kept humming, and sometimes singing, to herself as she read a huge textbook on chemicals and formulas. The seemingly unnecessary vocalizations disturbed Abridge, who was still writing in a black notebook, sulking.
"Goddammit," Abridge muttered after breaking her last pencil. Without turning her gaze, Zeela took a pen from her blue shirt's pocket and handed it to her co-worker. Abridge frowned again.
"I can't write with a pen." She quietly hissed.
"Then you can either write in blood or that." Zeela said and gently threw the pen onto Abridge's desk.

"It's a lot more difficult to make ice now because I use the water in the air, and now it is all hot and takes a lot longer to cool enough to freeze."  Caleb explained.

Caleb was advisably breathing now.  He leaned back on the wall, luckyly he had frozen that wall out of bordem before.  The ice was a little wet from melting slowly but he kept him cooler.
