Nestled deep within the Western New Zealand, a secretive establishment goes about its daily routines.
All around are the unfamiliar grunts, howls, and snarls of various creatures- creatures unlike that of the modern era.
White-washed hallways lined with rooms and bustling with men dressed in white lab coats produce life begun in simple test-tubes weekly.
This secretive play on death is one not known to others outside the walls- this man-made facility has done the impossible- re-birthed creatures of the distant past.
Welcome to the Hamilton Research Facility- an establishment proud to boast of its ground-breaking accomplishment- successfully creating long extinct creatures with a few strands of DNA.
After numerous failures, we've finally succeeded in birthing a fully functioning organism. With the one success down, we went ahead with the full cloning of various other extinct mammals- and after generations of functioning breeding, have perfected and restored the many species. All of their kind are descended from the single pair of clones- therefore all creatures we currently possess are now naturally born and bred. For research purposes, all animals are kept during the day in one multiple acre, double electric fence seccured enclosure to study how they interact- at night they are separated and put into smaller concrete enclosures by species. We run various physical and psychological tests on the facility's occupants as well. With our successful cloning and breeding program, we have played God, and resparked the flame of the past...
Plot:
Welcome! You are one of the naturally born "extinct" residents of this facility. You have the choice of being any extinct mammal you desire! You are forced to undergo tests occasionally, but other than that life is pretty good here- for the most part. With the various different species being kept in the one large enclosure, natural tensions mount. Animals with age-old rivalries are often at each others' throats- and many fights break out, some resulting in death. While natural behavior such as hunting is greatly encouraged for data purposes, each death is a huge blow to the facility for obvious reasons. Because you are descended from a mere DNA clone, some animals may have enhanced abilities- such as better senses, increased strength or speed, etc.
Your purpose? Live life as you would thousands of years ago- fight, hunt, eat, live.
At night, as said, you will be put into smaller roomed enclosures with others of your species.
That being said..
Those who manage to escape will be killed to ensure the secretive nature of the establishment.
Those who fight back with the scientists or protest your testing will be sedated and punished- more serious consequences will take place if said protest continues.
You will have enemies. Many species have natural rivalries.

Animals:
Theses are but a few examples of the animals to choose from. If you want to be something I forgot to mention, feel free!
Saber-Toothed Cat
Dire Wolf
Thylacine
Quagga
Woolly Mammoth
Prehistoric Horse
Irish Deer
Short Faced Bear
CaveLion
Aurochs
Again, if there's an animal you wish to participate as that I did not mention above, you are more than welcome to be said animal. <3
Rules:
1.) PLEASE. Do your research on an animal before RPing as it. Many prehistoric mammals are far different than your average wolf or lion, whether it be physically or behaviorally. So please know about the animal before choosing it. Thank you.
2.) Be somewhat literate. No one-liners, please.
3.) Blood, gore, mild language is allowed.
4.) If your character dies, you may make a new one.
5.) You may have as many characters as you can handle.
Note: To keep species numbers somewhat balanced, I will only be accepting one more dire wolf- of the female gender.

"You can't go back to where you've never been."
Name: "Um, I'm Manoah." Manoah.
Species: "...I- I don't know, but I think I heard them say I'm a thylacine?" Thylacine
Gender: "Don't be silly." Male.
Age: -Blank stare- He is one year old.
Alterations: "Not that I.. know of?" His hearing is slightly enhanced.
Description: "Well, I've got stripes!" -Le photo-
Personality: "Uh..." He is generally shy and extremely skittish. Being bullied often by the other animals- there being not many other thylacines- he tends to cling to human company over animal company. He's pretty fearful and would sooner flee than fight. He hates to see others in distress, and would do anything to help someone.
Family: "Just my parents!" Manoah was one of the few animals from the recent batch of DNA cloning. The scientists try to keep the cloning at a minimum to encourage natural breeding and births, but due to the lack of Thylacines, they worked to create a couple to give the species a jump start. Manoah was the only of his "litter" to survive, and regards the scientists as his parents.
Other: "Nope!"

Description: "You 'ave eyes, don'tcha?" Photo.
Personality: "Wot's it to you?" In case you can't tell already, Kelso is very stubborn, and obnoxiously flirty. He thinks very highly of himself, and has no verbal filter- often blurting the first words that cross his mind. He enjoys lazing around and being in the pleasurable company of females, but he won't hesitate to fight if provoked. While he'd sooner save himself than fight for another person, he'll do whatever it takes to get the girl, and often has no trouble in succeeding- although his lack of a verbal filter often ends up with him getting slapped. ouo
Family: "Pfft. Who needs family." None. He does not care for long term relationships.
Other: "..Wot?" He has an extremely thick Cockney accent.

Personality:

Arakia doesn't trust other creatures or humans very easily. She isn't completely classified at sweet since she hardly ever says or does anything nice. She is the one who sits back and listens, and is the one to take the kill at the last moment. She is considered rather odd - others can't usually uncover her demeanor. Arakia is all about survival, and will do whatever it takes to keep herself walking, even if it means pushing others out of her way with regret. Arakia is relentlessly stubborn, proud, and discreetly defiant. At times, it does not show, due to her silent attitude, but once you spark the flame, it'll show up for sure. To most others, with the exception of a select few, she is reserved, impassive, and somewhat of a loner. She speaks only when prompted to; she keeps her innermost emotions exclusively to herself. Though beneath her shy and withdrawn exterior, is a skilled fighter and formidable adversary. Arakia takes charge pragmatically when lacking a competent superior. It is difficult to gain her trust and respect - one must work to retain it. Regardless, she has unwavering loyalty and faith in those whom she trusts and she would sacrifice her life for her kin and kith.

Personality:
"And how should I describe that?"
Most wolves find it hard to keep steady eye contact with Jarlan's cutting, perceptive gaze, making him appear intimidating and withdrawn. He is amiable to those he has grown close to and enjoys playing pranks. Jarlan is a keen opportunist. He has an ease with words useful in diplomacy, preferring to resolve conflicts with little violence, unlike his rash and overconfident brother who was killed in an attempt of an escape. However, like his deceased brother, Jarlan is a skilled fighter who gains the confidence of his comrades through his charm and ability to rapidly make decisions concerning trivial situations or issues. He is steadfastly loyal to those he cares about and will defend them with tooth and claw, even at the cost of his life. However, he can be a little defensive of himself at times. He doesn't always like admitting to his mistakes, but he tries to. He is also easily provoked and has a temper at times. Sometimes, Jarlan can be overly confidante in himself - usually leading him into some trouble. Be warned, Jarlan is sensitive about his past, and flinches when brought up.

"Its better to bite your tongue than eat your words"
Name: Rhina
Species: Dire Wolf
Gender: Female
Age: 5 years old
Alterations: Her speed and strength has increased.
Description: Rhina is a beautiful wolf, her fur is pure black with brown patches mixed in. The she-wolfs coat is very, very fluffy and soft, which works as a great blanket, but her colour also helps her to belnd in when on hunts. Under the mass of fur Rhina has short sturdy legs, along with quite a lot of muscle on her body. Rhi has a few scars jotted around her body and 1 or 2 on her face from hunts and fights. Her eyes are a 'light' yellow colour and they stand out beautifully especially at night.
Personality: Rhina is a very stubbor canine who tends to not listen to others or do what they say, she will say and do what she wants when she wants and tends to not follow orders unless she allows herself to. At times she can come out with bitter words sometimes resulting in hurting the other even if she didn't mean to, but she is less likely to apologise and would probably just say something random. Yes, Rhia does have quite a temper on her and will snap if provoked, this also links to making her fight. She is quite hard headed and brave, along with being very curious. Rhia may not seem it but she does like speaking to those of her species and hanging out with them, although she can get rather boisterous at times. Often Rhia gets herself into trouble because of her stuborness and her short temper, also because she speaks her mind, but this she-wolf isn't one to back down from a fight.

"You can't go back to where you've never been."
Manoah
The young marsupial lay curled into a tight ball beneath the shelter of a large fern. While his kind is normally nocturnal, due to his genetic tweaking, he didn't really mind the day time much. Manoah blinked, observing the constant activity of the various different animals around him. He always tried to stay out of their way- fear stricken by the larger ones- particularly the cats. As a cloven hoofed Irish Deer plodded by his sheltered spot, the thylacine managed to poke his head out, staring in awe at the enormous ungulate, though it took but a mere distant roar to make him retreat back into cover. With a shaking huff, the striped creature curled back up, longing for his human "parents" to come and retrieve him- a fact he knew wouldn't happen. All he could do was wait for night time so that he could be put into the enclosed room- away from these terrifying beasts.

"Too much is never enough"
Kelso
The large dire lay boldly sprawled out atop a boulder. He rather enjoyed the day time, spending most of it lounging around in the sunlight. The loud bugle of a nearby mammoth, though, made Kelso flinch and scramble to his haunches, head low. Scrunching his muzzle in annoyance, he muttered a few curses under his breath at the creature then slowly lowered himself back down onto his belly. While he did love to lay around, recently he'd found that without the company of others, it had grown to be quite boring.

Rhia
"Its better to bite your tongue than eat your words"
The echoing roars and groans of the large beasts caused the dire to open her eyes, a growl rumbled up her throat as she glanced around. Laying ontop of a thick log she shuffled onto her haunches, her eyes locking onto a Quagga. A horse like creature. Licking her lips her two front paws tapped against the log in anticipation to charge ahead and hunt down the beast, but her breed hunted in pack so she found it difficult to do alone. Besides it was a male, a very large one indeed so she didn't have a good chance at all. The horse lifted its head to look at her, the two having a stare off for a few seconds until the striped beast continued to graze, letting out a snarl she leapt from the log and headed across the fields, her head held high and her tail gently swaying back and forth. The muscular canine trudged across the ground, her large paws pressing into the earth. Wooly Mamoths seemed huddled together by a waters edge, the young standing not to far off but Rhi seemed uninterested in the large, tusked beasts so she continued on her way.

"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."
As the sun frowned upon earth's ground, Arakia snuggled herself under the large rock, which provided a large shadow for her to settle under. Her ear twitched in annoyance at the sounds of animal noises blaring around her. It was a noisy environment for one animal alone. A good thing they place us in solitary cages at night.
Arakia, feeling a little tired, rested her head between her paws. Her golden pools peered at the rest of the animals, watching as a Quagga sprinted past. Nothing seemed to be in its pursuit.
With a stretch, followed by a yawn from Arakia, the cave lion plopped onto the ground once more to take a quick rest. It was foolish to sleep on the ground - any moment she could be killed by a passing predator, most likely a cave bear. Arakia simply brushed off the thought, caring less as she lowered her head, her eyes still opened. As she took one last survey of the area, the shifting of a fern caught her attention. Sitting up, her eyes narrowed as she noticed a small figure curled underneath the fern, as if to blend in and forget about the world. Curious, she brought herself up onto all four paws, and proceeded to head towards the creature. Emerging from the grass, she stared down at the creature. She gave it a sniff, before giving it a nudge with her muzzle, interested in its species. She didn't recall ever seeing one, nor did she know what it was. Arakia simply wanted to receive its attention, so she could study its face.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
Weaving his way across the fields, Jarlan's head bobbled up and down as he trotted forward. His ear swiveled at the animal sounds around him, but he merely ignored them. His dry tongue stayed inside his mouth, hoping to be moistened by his saliva. No avail.
His main focused was to reach the water and - hopefully - not collapse along the way. Although the idea of collapsing from thirst was ridiculous of him, Jarlan wanted to urge himself forward to make the trip a little faster, and somewhat easier. With that, he pressed forward, breaking into a run. Though thinking there was nothing in his path, a sudden sharp pain shot up his paw. Taken by surprise, a sharp yelp escaped his throat as he stumbled, pain throbbing inside his paw.
Slightly confused, he sat down and stared at his paw. A slender stick of a bark stuck out from his paw, blood oozing out from it. With a low growl, he simply stared at it. He knew nothing of healing and such. Should he pull it out?
He decided to continue his way towards the water, in fear of loosing any more blood along the way. A blood path was sure to bring a predator to him, which Jarlan did not need or want. Satisfied with his plan, he picked himself up and began to limp towards the water, thankful he was close by of it. As he emerged from the fields, he gazed around, noticing several Woolly Mammoths clumped together. Seeing nothing of harm - if he did not provoke it - Jarlan padded up towards the water's edge and peered into it. To satisfy his thirst first, he lapped at the water, relaxing slightly as it moistened his tongue. Afterwards, he brought forth his paw, his ear twitching as he gazed at it. With a mutter, he latched his jaws around the bark's end, running his tongue softly on its rough texture without hesitating. Closing his eyes, he gave a harsh tug to it. As pain exploded inside him of, he held back several curses as he nearly wanted to hobble around in pain, but he didn't. Eyes still closed, he spat out the bark, hurriedly running his tongue over his paw. The taste of fowl blood entered his mouth, but he ignored it and continued to nurse his wound. He didn't want to dip his paw into the water in fear of contaminating it, so he kept to himself, running his tongue over his paw repeatedly.

"Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive."
Lavinah
The female trotted past a herd of woolly mammoths, their warning grunts making her go a little faster. She thought she was home free until a mammoth stomped his foot on the ground, sending up a puff of dirt and rocks. She yelped in surprise then bolted forward, her enhanced speed making the distance between her and the herd greater every second. Their thundering trumpets rung in her sensitive ears, sending a shiver down her spine. Lavinah has always been fearful of mammoths, their size dominated her's and they could easily kill her in a matter of seconds, if provoked. She looked back and sighed in relief when they were a safe distance away, now she could rest. Lavinah saw that a water source was just a few paw steps away, she peered behind her once again to make sure the mammoths had surely forgotten about her. Seeing that they were still a great distance away she padded towards he water and began to lap up some water.
She did not realize how thirsty she was until she almost couldn't stop herself from lapping up the cool tasteless water. Lavinah finally was able to lift her head away from the water, she took a few steps back then sat down. Water droplets fell from the fur and whiskers on her muzzle, making dark spots in the dirt. Her brown eyes trailed over the animals in the area, a cave lion looked to investigating a fern and a dire was seated on top of a rock. Her attention was soon caught by another dire who was laying right across the water, he looked to be favoring his front paw. She titled her head then decided to walk over to see what was wrong. Making her way around the small lake she was almost trampled by a startled Quagga, Lavinah jumped to her right and let the beast past. She watched it until it was only a speck then continued over to the black canine. She was rather friendly when it came to her own kind so she didn't have much problem speaking to him "Hello, are you okay?" she asked when she was just a couple feet away. She stopped walking and stayed put, she knew some mammals liked their space and she wouldn't invade his.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
His good paw slid slowly into the mud while he worked away on his other. Jarlan's tongue was slightly aching from the repeatedly licks he gave his paw, but he didn't know any other way to stop the blood from coming. Not noticing the sudden stop of blood, he continued to sweep his tongue on his paw, thinking there was still more. He was too busy to notice another dire wolf come up to him. He started at the sudden voice of it.
"Hello, are you okay?"
He sprang onto all four paws, holding back a gasp of pain as his paw touched the ground. Shaking it off, he swung his head into the direction of the voice, peeling back his lips as a sign of aggression. But upon seeing the friendly look on the female's face, he relaxed - somewhat.
"Erm, sorry," he apologized, referring to his abrupt aggression. He met her gaze, remembering her question. "Um, yes. I'm fine." There was no reason to make a big fuss over a tiny bark in his paw, let alone complain to another stranger about it. Besides, it was just a tiny cut in the paw. He remained quiet, studying the female's features. She was most likely young, maybe a year younger than him, but Jarlan couldn't be so sure. His icy pools met the sort, brown ones, but they later averted towards a Quagga, which ambled past on the other side. He didn't meet her gaze again, and instead lowered down at the muddy ground. It was then when he realized he was standing near the water's edge, where the mud collected. He scooted out, wet mud clinging onto his paws. Grimacing, he decided to wash them off later, but he cautioned, not wanting them to dry out in the sun. Without another word, he began to peel off the squishy mud, flinging them to where they belonged - near the water's edge. For a moment, he completely forgot about the female who was standing there.
"I'm Jarlan," he murmured softly. Maybe it was time he actually started a simple conversation with one of his species. Normally, he brushed them aside, but this time, he decided not to.

"You can't go back to where you've never been."
Manoah
Manoah's wide-eyed gaze was fixed on the nearby mammoth, the distraction keeping him from noticing the approaching Cave Lion. Feeling the lioness' cold nose upon his flesh, the thylacine stiffened and quickly- and clumsily- staggered to the side, flopping over outside of the bush. Scrambling to get his five-toed paws back beneath him, Manoah snapped his attention to the large creature, his jaws parting in the trademark wide-stretched warning gape of fright- his mandible opening at an unnatural-looking angle. Letting out a shaking hiss, he kept his stance low and submissive and slowly closed his jaws, his wide eyes staring in frozen fright up at the beast. His mind shot in a thousand different directions, instantly searching for the nearest escape route. He knew a fight with this feline would mean his immediate death- and that was a chance he wasn't going to take. Maybe a few words would distract the cat from launching its potential attack. "I- I- Um-" The marsupial stammered, too shaken by alarm to think clearly enough to form words, though he took a few half steps backwards.

"Too much is never enough"
Kelso
The sounds of the nearby creatures once again forced Kelso to lazily sit up and shoot a couple glares of annoyance. Running his tongue over his nose, he couldn't help but notice his mouth was quite dry. Meh, a quick drink 'er two wouldn't hurt. The dire told himself as he paused to stretch his forelegs. Gathering his muscles, he leaped off the boulder, landing swiftly in the grassy brush bellow. In a bouncy trot, Kelso made his way towards the enclosure's watering hole, casually snarling at the annoying creatures who happened to meander past him. As he pushed through the brush to reach the water's edge, he was met by the immediate scents of fellow wolves. He slowed his paw steps once he reached the water, and after a couple sips, glanced down stream to notice two dires communicating. Intrigued, Kelso plopped down onto his haunches, smirking over at the two though he couldn't quite hear them. While he did want to communicate, for now he shrugged them off and returned his focus to drinking a few more sips of water- his curiosity keeping him in place. For now, he'd leave them be.

[[ Oh.. um, we haven't really gone far in the RP. It's just this page (page 2) that has everything on it, or when the Rp starts. But if you want a re-cap then okay. ^3^
There's no action, yet, since the roleplay is still forming. Right now, Arakia (my character) and Manoah (Jimmy's character) are interacting with each other, but not in a friendly way. Kelso (Jim's character) was derping on a boulder, before he decided to go to the water source to get a drink. Rhina (Taylor's character) is wandering about. Lavinah (?????????'s character) and Jarlan (my character) are communicating with each other at the water source. ]]

"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."
The shock and the fright from the creature amused Arakia as her tail wavered in the air. Had she not expected this, but she went along with it, watching in silence as the mammal stammered and stumble about. She titled her head to one side upon seeing its face - curved and marked with indents - it seemed almost like one of those dire wolves. Almost.
""I- I- Um-"
The stammer from the creature caught the lion's attention as she gazed at it. What should she do know? She certainty was not going to scare it anymore, no. She almost - almost - felt bad for it, and though it was amusing to watch, she wouldn't like that to be done to her. Besides, showing fear was a sign of weakness, to her. Arakia's ear twitched at the thought, and she gave a sharp glance at the creature, who backed up a bit.
At that moment, the lion slowly rested down onto her haunches on the hard ground. Without any words, she began to sweep her tongue over her paw, still gazing at the other. She wasn't going to attack at the moment, but she wasn't going to speak to it either. She would try and show she was of no harm, but how else would she? By washing up was a lame excuse, but at that moment, Arakia had no other idea. For now, she would have to deal with it, and so would the creature as well. With that, Arakia suddenly reached out, batting the fern playfully with her paw. Despite her intentions, her claws - accidentally unsheathed - caught the fern's end and ripped it, a shred of the fern clinging onto her claws. Surprised, the lion stared at it for a moment, before shaking it off onto the ground. As it drifted down, she stared intently at the creature, as if expecting something from it. She wasn't going to attack it. Yet.

"Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive."
Lavinah
Lavinah sat down "I'm Lavinah." she grinned, her bushy tail wagging as well as sending up a swirl up dust. She hadn't actually communicated with her own kind in quite a while since she has been isolated from any creature the past few days. She had been tested on just a week ago and wasn't allowed to mingle. Her brown eyes peered down at her injured paw "May I ask what happened?" she asked with a tilt of her head. Her attention was son attracted to a piece of mud that had landed on top of her muzzle. Her eyes crossed as they tried to focus on the small piece of brown mud. Suddenly, a tingled sensation started in her nose then Achoo! The loud sneeze made her jump back in surprise then fall over. She quickly got to her paws and shook her head "Sorry.." she said sheepishly as she sat back down. Her leathery nose twitched every now and again and she sometimes felt like another sneeze was coming on but it always just false alarms. Soon anther canine caught her attention, another male dire. He had a multi-colored coat and pale amber eyes. She peered at him for a moment before looking away "It's not polite to stare." she muttered to herself, that is what her mother always told her when she caught her staring at other animals. "What did I tell you? Staring is not polite." Her mother growled as they padded over to the watering hole "Sorry mama." she whimpered. Lavinah pushed the flashback out of her mind then turned back to Jarlan "It's nice to meet you."

Rhina
"Its better to bite your tongue than eat your words"
The large black Dire continued her way through the enclosure, her tail swayed side to side as her head turned looking around. It seemed most of the beasts were already out, well ones she could already see, more like prey to her. The day was slowly getting on and Rhia would need to go hunt for some food, but it was going to be hard as the few young that remained always stook by their parents, and a kick from a Guagga or a Prehistoric Horse sure hurt, and she didn't want to be stepped on by a mamoth. Rhina tends to leave larger animals like Cave Lions, Sabrts the Bears and the bull like creatures. Although, she never really seen Thylacine around besides they wouldn't really make a good meal for a wolf of her size. Shaking her head from her thoughts Rhina glanced at a small hers of Guagga, her stomach growled as she ran her tongue along her lips. "I'll be back soon.." she grunned as she turned to her right heading towards another water source, the scent of other wolves was pretty strong. But she decided she would communicate with any if they didn't communicate with her.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."
Jarlan directed his attention to the female dire wolf as she mentioned her name. "Lavinah," he murmured quietly to himself, as if tasting the name on his tongue. "It's a nice name." As he continued to pry the mud off using his teeth, his ears perked as Lavinah proceeded to speak once more.
"May I ask what happened?"
As he tossed a piece of mud into the air, not caring where it landed, he lifted his head. The female had titled her head to glance at his paw. Jarlan lifted it for a moment, before gently putting it onto the ground, opening his jaws to respond. Suddenly, a small piece of mud splatted onto Lavinah's muzzle, causing her to go cross-eyed in attempt to look at it. Amusement flickered in the male's eyes as he watched her, but it was then when he realized he had flung the mud into her direction. As he was about to apologize, Lavinah suddenly sneezed, falling over in surprise. A wry smile tugged at the corners of his jaws as he bit back a bark of laughter. Lavinah picked herself up.
"Sorry," Jarlan began to apologize. But he stopped himself, realizing that they had said "sorry" at the same time. "It's alright. Mostly my fault - for flinging the mud into your direction." When he noticed her attention was diverted, he peered to where she was looking. Another dire wolf - male, to be exact - was watching them from across the other side of the stream. Should he welcome the other? Before he could react, the male glanced away to look back at the water. Jarlan decided not to - for now.
"It's not polite to stare."
Lavinah's voice brought him back into reality. Wait, was she speaking to him? Was I staring? Jarlan, confused, looked at the other female closely. He shouldn't accuse her. Maybe she was muttering to herself.
"Were you...saying something?" He inquired softly. But he stopped, noticing she seemed to be staring at something else again. The heck? He shifted to gaze at where she was staring, but saw nothing. Before he could get a response, Lavinah seemed to mentally bounce off.
"It's nice to meet you," she continued, making Jarlan gaze at her again.
"Yeah. Nice to meet you," he echoed, before continuing, "it's nice to actually get to know another dire wolf around here. Most of them are usually hostile." With those words, he shot a nervous glance at the male wolf again. Was he, too, hostile? He didn't seem interested in them, anyway, so Jarlan merely brushed it off. As he glanced at Lavinah, he shuffled his paws uncomfortably. Now what? What should he say? Jarlan wasn't used to having conversations, and with no other words forming in his mouth, he sat there awkwardly. "Um...now what?" He inquired, despite the stupidity in it.

"You can't go back to where you've never been."
Manoah
The youngster's muscles remained tense as he cowered before the towering lioness, his rigid, kangaroo-like tail stiffly curved to the side. What was it doing? The stranger's calm stillness was quite unnerving and hard to read. Was she going to attack? Or was she toying with him? Manoah was unsure of what to think of the feline's laxness. Not daring to take his cautious stare away from the much larger animal, he did manage to take another small, unsure paw step backwards. He did well to keep his head low- a posture he only hoped the feline kind saw as submissive as well. The Tasmanian tiger once again parted his jaws to their unnatural angle in another warning gape of agitation. The last thing he wanted was a fight.
Slowly pulling his maw closed once more, Manoah watched intently while the cave lion nonchalantly grazed her tongue over her paw. Was she enjoying his fright? Felines...
Still, the striped marsupial didn't dare to make any sudden moves- that is, until the stranger's menacing claws raked across the fern leaf, ripping it off. A motion that instantly struck him as threatening. Eyes widening in alarm, the thylacine clambered backwards again, body still turned towards the feline as he let out a hiss of discomfort. "I-if you're going to kill me just do it already-" Manoah found himself blurting out, his voice shaky with anxiety and short, dense fur prickling on end.

"Too much is never enough"
Kelso
Raising his head away from the water's surface again, Kelso shot a lazy glance towards the two conversing dires he'd noticed previously. Licking the liquid from his maw, his interest remained fixed on the two. The situation seemed almost... awkward- and the male's audible words brought a smirk of amusement to Kelso's face. This guy had no clue how to interact with females, apparently- or so it seemed to him, anyway. Deciding he'd hung back long enough, he rose to his four, and after giving his thick pelt a light shake, strode confidently over to the two fellow canids.
"Come on, now, that ain't 'ow 'ya make conversation." Kelso blurted, casually slouching down onto his haunches a few paces away from the wolves- head tilted with a crooked smirk plastered on his amused face.

"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."
A sharp, yet unsteady hiss caught Arakia's attention. Turning her head into the direction of the creature, she titled her head as she mused on the trembling words it spoke.
"I-if you're going to kill me just do it already," it blurted out, a hint of fear mingling in the words.
"Oh, I'm not going to kill you," Arakia murmured, her eyes nearly glinting. Just yet. Despite the cruel and mischievous attitude she had right now, the lion saw amusement in this. A little amusement, though. Arakia usually didn't toy around with her prey, before killing it. To her, it was best to get the job over with and snap its neck. But right now, she didn't feel like finishing the job. Perhaps it was because she was a little lazy right now, or simply she wanted to know how it felt to play around with the prey. Unsure with the choices, her thoughts were anyway interrupted by a loud roar.
Her gaze shot to where the sound had came from. Concern and confusion flickered in her eyes as she noticed several Quaggas sprinting past, fear glinting in their eyes. What's this? She nearly voiced her question, but she didn't, and simply waited for the reason behind this.
A snarl erupted from below, and a rather large sabertooth sprang up. Sharp claws glinted in the sunlight as it landed, its large fangs pointed in a deadly manner. Stern yet fierce eyes flickered, its golden pools surveying the area. A small smirk seemed to appear on its face, but it was gone as quick as it had came. With tail lashing from behind, the sabertooth moved forward, its speed enhanced as it gained ground. It shot past Arakia and the creature she was with. As the lion continued to watch, she realized the beast was hunting the Quaggas. It seemed to her it was obvious the saber would have a meal, but unknowingly, the great cat stumbled, falling over onto its face as it let out a snarl. A rock was in its path, causing it to have tripped and fallen. Even though it was a small rock, it seemed to take the sabertooth a while to recover; it rested on its haunches, staring at the Quaggas as they bounced away.
A smirk - mixed with amusement and mock - appeared onto Arakia' face as she watched the back of the cat. A snort came from her as she glanced back at the strange creature once more, wondering what it thought of the scene. As she remained standing there, she noticed a dark shadow looming over the fern. Confused, she glanced around to see that the sabertooth was staring intently at the creature, a look of hunger gleaming in its eyes. She didn't even have to think twice of what the beast was thinking.
As it brought down a sudden paw of force onto the smaller creature, panic rushed through the cave lion. Without thinking, she thrust her body at the sabertooth, bringing her jaws down onto his back as her claws latched onto him.
"No!" she snarled abruptly. Her sudden attack brought the saber down in surprise. Knowing it would be considered silly to be "protecting" a prey without a reason, she added in a harsh tone, "that's my prey!" With a growl, the sabertooth regained himself and began to struggle, lashing a few attacks onto Arakia as well as attempting to hit the creature to stun it or kill it.

"You can't go back to where you've never been."
Manoah
Manoah's rounded ears flicked forward at the lioness' words- "Oh, I'm not going to kill you." Cautiously optimistic, the young marsupial narrowed his eyes in confusion, tipping his narrow head to the side slightly. "Y-you're not? Then- what do you want- ...ma'am..." His voice starting off as somewhat strong yet shaky, by the end of his sentence it had squeaked into a low, frightened mumbling tone, and he glanced down at the ground, doing well to show the higher carnivore respect. Just when he thought things were seeming to look up, a deafening roar sounded from the ridge nearby, making the thylacine whimper and cower back down again. Great. As if a cave lion wasn't bad enough- of course. There would be a saber-toothed tiger. It was just his luck.
Much to Manoah's relief, however, it seemed the saber's focus was not upon him, but on the herd of Quagga fleeing nearby. While he kept the lioness in his gaze, and didn't dare shift too much, he watched the hunt from the corner of his eye- the saber quickly snagging his full, head-turning attention as it face-planted in a failed pounce. He shot a glance back at the cave lion who was still ominously sitting in front of him, to notice the look of amusement plastered on her face. It was pretty funny, afterall. Cracking a half smile, Manoah let out a quiet chuckle. But, his chuckle was quickly replaced by a choking sniffle of terror when he realized the saber had turned its sights upon an easier target- him. "Eep!" The thylacine lowered himself as low as he could to the ground, curling his body almost into a ball, though he did not forget about the strange feline beside him. There was nowhere to run. And no reason to even bother. Naturally, he lacked much speed. So a b-line for an escape route would just end in him spurring the interest of both felines, and soon his death. Besides, it's not like he even had anywhere to run. His frontward path was blocked by the lioness, who he was sure wouldn't hesitate to snag him up as a snack- and on his other side, was the lurking saber-toothed cat. He could only sit there cowering in fear, waiting for the end to come.
While he was prepared for it, the heavy paw of the saber coming down upon his striped back forced a yelp of pain and surprise from the young marsupial, the force of it nearly knocking the breath from him. Spreading his jaws with a hissing warning gape once more- that typical thylacine trademark- directed at the saber. At the same time, he managed to scramble slightly to the side- even though that ended with him stumbling over his own clumsy paws and face planting, then rolling a couple times. Panting in panic, he glanced back at the towering saber as it prepared itself for another swipe. This was it. Manoah clenched his eyes shut and waited- but this time, there was no striking pain- but a furious roar. The Tazzy Tiger's eyelids shot open in surprise. The cave lion! She was... defending him!? Just as a wide grin of relief and gratefulness took its place upon his muzzle, he heard the lioness' words: "That's my prey!" A look of horror flushed his face. So she was just toying with him! He should have known better. The two cats were now locked in combat- competing over which of them could end up eating him. Now was his chance. Ears flat, he once again stretched his jaws open to their odd, wide angle, the "yawning" gape of apparent distress whilst he slowly backed away. Now! Rising onto his hind legs in the typical kangaroo-like bipedal stance, Manoah wheeled around and sprang off his strong hind legs, clumsily running a few strides away, and only hoping that the cats would be too distracted with each other to notice his hasty escape. The last thing he needed was to be fast food.

"Do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive."
Lavinah
Lavinah awkwardly clawed at the dirt below her paws, she didn't know what to say either. If it were possible, her forehead would be beaded with sweat. Suddenly, another dire approached them and breaking the silence "Oh, hello." she flashed a friendly smile towards the male. Lavinah was actually glad to be communicating with other animals that weren't trying to kill her. Soon the smile turned down when she aw a cave lion and a saber tooth were fighting over something "Hmm." she peered at them, it was better them than her. Then her eyes caught a small creature scampering away from the two felines, a Thylacine. The felines must be competing over who would get to eat it, it looked like neither of them would be now. She turned her attention away from the two big cats and back to the two canines, particularly the new arrival "I'm Lavinah," she looked at Jarlan "and that's Jarlan." she added. She looked back at the unknown wolf "It's a pleasure to meet you." she grinned, she always loved meeting other animals.

"Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend."
As the two great cats tousled and turned, Arakia managed to dodge a strong blow from the sabertooth's paw. A furious hiss came from her when the sabertooth began to thrust more attacks, forcing her claws to release from him and for her to back down. Now, the two were facing each other - breathing heavily as one waited for the other to attack. Seeing something move behind the sabertooth, she dared to dart her gaze at it, realizing it was the striped creature making its escape. Good! She thought, a breath of relief escaping her. Her attention diverted, she did not realize that the sabertooth was lunging for her. As the impact from the cat's paws forced her to the ground, a snarl came from her as she tried to whip her claws at the opponent's face in attempt to at least distract him. Seeing this, the saber jerked his head back. This making him more angry, he dug his claws harder into the lioness' skin. Her back neck exposed, Arakia did her best to fend him off, which only made the situation worse.
Her gaze was no longer at the sabertooth's face. Instead, she was flipped to lying onto her stomach while she stared out at the backs of the Quaggas as they soon disappeared behind a rock. Arakia knew exactly what he was about to do. Because of their weak bite when attacking the neck using their teeth, it was useless for the sabertooths to do so. Instead, they would use a downward thrust of their head, powered by the neck muscles to drive the large upper canines into the creature.
Arakia knew she had to act quick, but how else would she? With her head turned and her front legs pinned, she couldn't think of another way so quickly. Unsure what the sabertooth was doing, another idea popped into her mind. Summoning her strength in her hind legs, she reached up and barely scratched the cat's belly, but it was enough to distract him.
Feeling the weight release from her paws, she sprang up, twisting around to face her opponent. When seeing nothing in front of her, she blinked, before realizing that the sabertooth had also notice the striped creature's escape. As she jerked her head to where she had last seen it, her eyes narrowed. The sabertooth's speed was obviously upgraded as it almost caught up with his prey. Without hesitating, Arakia sprinted forward, glad to know her speed and agility were also enhanced. When she came from behind the cat, she tried to hook her claws into the male's tail in attempt to slow him down a little, but she failed several times. With a hiss, she launched forward, managing to grip the sabertooth's behind with her front claws. With the classical attack, the male faltered, slowing down somewhat. Though the move damaged him a little, he still kept moving, advancing on the little creature on each and every step he took. When he neared, he suddenly lunged forward at the creature, his claws glinting in the sunlight as they tried to close around the mammal. At the sudden move, Arakia's claws unhooked from him, and she rolled onto the ground, almost stunned. Shaking her head, she hurriedly picked herself up. Upon seeing the sight, the lioness had no clue what else to do. With a flick of her tail, she moved forward, slamming her body into the male in attempt to stop the blow. Though she made her move, she was unsure whether she had made it in time or not. After all, why am I even trying to protect it?

"Just A Box Of Rain"
Pitch
Pitch watched the little battle from his rock in awe. He didn't understand why they were fighting over silly things, and why the big cat was being so rough. After all, they have all gone through many things, why not just get along? "When you guys are done down there, I'd like to introduce myself..." He joked. "Name's Pitch, and you all are?" he said, hoping to maybe stop the little fight.

"You can't go back to where you've never been."
Manoah
The thylacine flattened his ears, trying to tune out the terrifying roars of the battling felines behind him whilst he attempted to flee. Nearly paralyzed by fear, Manoah stumbled over his own awkward limbs as he clumsily sprinted up a hill. Scrambling over a rock, he tripped over himself again and tumbled head over heels in a short somersault. Panting in anxiety, he forced himself to shoot a glance over his shoulder, letting out a subtle sigh of relief upon noticing the two were still fully wrapped up in their scrap.
His sandy-golden colored sides heaving, Manoah snapped his head forward again and resumed his flight, struggling up the steepening side of the hill. Behind him, many dislodged pebbles and dirt clumps escaped from beneath his paws while his panicky steps scrambled up the side. As the dirt hill side got steeper, he found it more and more difficult to climb with haste. Clumsily, his paws searched for a solid spot on the earth, only to have more dirt crumble from beneath him and send him tumbling down the hillside in a cloud of dust. Flopping to a halt near the bottom- and nearer to the fight scene, Manoah clambered to regain his footing, huffing with effort and terror. Immediately, he turned tail and darted back up the hillside.
Just as he thought he could let out a sigh of relief, the roar of the saber-toothed cat behind him made him twitch in alarm. Shooting a terror-filled glance backwards, the thylacine let out a yipe of horror to see the saber barreling towards him- the cave lion clinging to its flank being the only thing keeping it from lunging. But, much to Manoah's alarm, the lioness lost her grip. With its newfound freedom, the saber finally launched its attack, its deadly jaws wide with a roar. Shaking violently with fear, Manoah desperately scrambled to escape, but by then, the saber was already upon him. Jaws wide in a yelping gape of agitation, the thylacine flailed onto his back just as the saber landed atop him. Instantly, it lunged its head forward, seeking to sink those massive blade-like canines into his small neck. Manoah curled his body in an attempt at using all four of his paws as a barrier to shove the cat's head away. But before the feline was able to make contact, it was suddenly flung to the side. Heart pounding out of his chest, the young marsupial flung his limbs to get them back beneath him and see what had happened. It was that cave lion again! Does she really want to eat me THAT bad? He thought to himself as he flashed another wide-stretched jaw gape at the two and turned to clamber up the hillside.
Once he had finally made it to the top, he turned to make a retreat- only to run head-on right into the chest of a dire wolf, who was observing the fight. Flopping backwards from the sudden collision, Manoah scrambled back to his paws, staring wide-eyed up at the wolf. His sides heaved heavily as he caught his breath. And right when he thought he could breathe again, he was now right back in danger. He'd heard the wolf say its name was Pitch- a sign that it may be friendly, as it did introduce itself- however, Manoah was too striken with fear to respond.
[[Lol Manoah is going to have a heart attack. XD

Kelso
Kelso's cocky gaze slowly drifted over to the female that stood before him. "Kelso." He introduced himself after she had, nodding his head. "Heh, nice 'ta meet 'ya, sweet'eart." The canine added with a wink, casually curling his tail around his side while he sat near the two fellow wolves. Before he could speak again, loud roars sounding from across the river quickly snagged his attention, making him perk his chipped ears forward.
"Wot- in the bloody he-" Kelso began to say, narrowing his eyes at the scene that was unfolding. "Pfft. Bloody fools." He finally concluded, huffing from his nostrils. Turning his head away from the violent battle, he refocused on the female- almost as if he'd already tuned the male out completely. "Well then, wot brings you 'round these parts? Not often I run into others." He smoothly said with a smirk, eyeing the fae with his ears slyly slicked back.

Pitch looked at the creature who bumped into his chest not 5 seconds ago, and noticing it was scared decided to talk to it, maybe calm it down. "That nasty feline scare ye?" he asked calmly. "Settle down there, you like like you've seen a ghost with a paddle." he joked.
Sorry again for the short post, I'll put in longer ones eventually.

Rhina
"Its better to bite your tongue than eat your words"
Rhina had been sitting by the water edge for quite some time now even though she knew she needed to go and catch some food, but shrugging it off she convinced herself that she could wait. Parting her large jaws in a yawn the black Dire glanced around, her fluffed tail dragging back and forth across the ears she she looked around the river banks. It seemed another three Dires were here, and she had only just noticed? Giving her head a brisk shake the she-wolf watched the unknown canines for a few minutes. It had been a while since Rhia had been close to any Dire never mind interacting with one. Letting out a huff she averted her gaze back onto the water-that seemed almost clear. Picking herself from her haunches and dropping her front half of her body she began lapping at the 'clear' pool infront of her. Allowing her tongue to roll out her maw she began to lap up the refreshing water, her tail wagging in contempt. Once satisfying her first the large muscular fae lifted up slowly and shuffled back onto her haunches. Glancing around once again.
But the sounds of sudden roars and snarls caused the Dires head to turn, the herd she was keeping an eye on had been moved by a Saber. "Good for nothing cat!" she spat with a growl as she watched the herd of Quagga bounce away. Shaking her head she let out a sigh beginning to slowly turn back towards the water. But again, her gaze was quickly back tracked behind her with the continuous roars and growls. Narrowing her eyes Rhina glanced towards the forested area, her brown raised as two tan coloured figures seemed to be flipping around. It was then she noticed it was infact a Cave Lion and a SaberTooth. A grin crawled across the dark canines mouth which caused her to slowly shuffle around, now the fight was in full view. As she watched the small striped creature bound from the bushes the two were quick to follow.
Rhina had no idea what had caused the fight but all the knew was it didn't look good, the two felines having small stains of blood around their pelts, the Sabre seemed to be gaining on what looked like a Thylacine. Although the Dire helped those in need of the two felines were to turn and attack her she would stand not a good chance if any at all. All she could do was helplessly sit and watch, but she did enjoy the commotion. With her tail quickly pacing back and for her ears remained erect, her eyes narrowed. Rhi wasn't to sure on both Cave Lions and Sabres but if she had to choose one, she hated Sabers the most. Allowing growls to rumbled up her throat but quickly pushing them down before they could escape-the odd one managing to escape. Suddenly, the large toothed cat leapt into the air nearly ontop of the Thylacine, but the Cave lion making attempts to stop him. Why is she helping him? Rhina asked herself, but quickly shrugged it off as the situation began to unfold.
