Title: Black Lines All Over Preset?! What happened?!
Post by: .CryingShadows. on March 14, 2014, 06:21:37 pm
So I made a dark gray preset with a few scars here and there using the lasso tool on GIMP, the newest version. Only when I use a dark gray color does these little black, jagged lines show up and it's awfully annoying because they look out of place. I've made several other presets and nothing like this has happened before! I'll post pictures soon!

Show us some picture so we can see what is really a problem.
First of all, I'll mention, use old version of gimp. Gimp 2.6
It has png and jpg file which new version doesn't have.
Make sure your picture is 513x513 or 512x512.
Be aware that you need to see in that preset_(number) note(text document), which name and type(jpg or png) you need to use for your preset.

It sounds like your UV map is showing up? A screenshot will confirm this.

@Dundee The new version does have .PNG and .JPG you just have to export the image (CTRL+SHIFT+E). Which is really convenient because you can save 'iffy changes' (like if you're experimenting with a fur texture) that you made without having to update the preset's files ingame.

You forgot to delete the base template with the lines on it XD. Sometimes when you use those, dark colors will show lines. Nothings wrong, just go back and re-edit it and delete the frame template or start over.  Good luck!

As Ashen has posted before me, you've either accidentally drawn on the base lines, had low opacity and they show through, or just forgot to delete the layer. To delete the UV lines, right click on the layer and click either "clear" or "delete".

To delete the UV lines, right click on the layer and click either "clear" or "delete".

Popping back in here as a reminder that you can just hide the layer incase you need it later on.

CTRL+L then click the little eye icon to hide that layer.
