I don't know what I would class as my favourite breed.
As some dogs are bred for different and certain things.
Such as my father's dog, who is a Dogo Canario (known as Presa Canario in America).
It's a Spanish guard dog, which means he's constantly guarding the home even though we live in an apartment.
You can't take the guard away from those breeds, which makes them difficult to handle. T_T'
Pain in the butt to take for a walk, as they're very strong and don't realize that they are.
Me being 5'2" (1.58m) tall (or short, depends how you want to see it!) has got quite difficult to walk him.
As we've finally stepped up with his social training, he's getting better 'n better. ^^
Link to my dad's dog, the last picture was last summer. He has grown a lot since.:

Neron this winter.
Before dad decided to get this type of dog, I must admit I really didn't like them.
The drooling, the face - the muzzle, the body and its posture.
Just didn't work for me.
But as dad got his first one, I began to adore her.
Now, that he has Neron. I couldn't ask for a more charming dog. :3
Personal preference?
Saarloos Wolfhound
Though, said to be a difficult breed to handle as they're part wolf.
Always loved the Border Collie.
Dad has had one of these when I was younger. He was a mix breed, but oh so charming.
My father also trained him and used him in the military.
Siberian Husky
I've never been one for their ice-cold "crazy" lookin' eyes.
Though I've always adored them. Knowing I could never have one as they need to stay too active for the life I live.
