Whenever I post, I tend to post something, then edit it a bunch of times, fixing things or just adding after-thoughts. Does anyone else do this, or is it just me?
Just curious!

Oh god yes.
I edit my posts all the time, whether I'm adding more information or fixing a fatal typo. I usually am on the forums with my phone, and autocorrect seems to hate slang words such as "yew," "lol," etc, and I notice they have been changed after I post.
Also, (again, stupid phone) when replying on help threads it sometimes doesn't notify me of a new post, so I usually have to edit for repeating information. That can get annoying, especially if there's a large quote.
Even though I can get sick of editing posts, imagine what it would be like without the edit button... O_o
Edit: OH GOD TYPO THE IRONY
-
Oh my gosh, without the edit button I'd be a mess. Incomplete sentences, chaotic explanations, typos galore. General post-chaos basically
EDIT: I noticed a few typos in your original post and couldn't help but chuckle, knowing you'd have to go back and edit...a post about editing... LOL
-
I don't really edit my posts a lot to be honest ;o;
Then again I tend to re-read and check my posts a lot so yush. I only edit them if I made a typo or missed a word and stuff like that
-
Most definitely. I tend to preview my posts multiple times before posting (usually when I have a longer reply) as Genny said, but once in a while I'll remember there was another point I wanted to add in there.
So, yesh~
-
I read over it twice, then as soon as I post it, find typos my brain ignored during my first two preposting typo-checks. So thanks brain

Normally before I post, I press the Preview option and re-read what I just typed. Thus, not too often do I edit my posts. The only time I do is if I accidentally double-post in which I go back and type somethin' along the lines of, "Whoops. I double-posted. Please pay this particular post no mind."
There's also times when a typo or two may slip my notice or when this occurs, like Ms. Eclipse has stated:Also, when replying on help threads it sometimes doesn't notify me of a new post, so I usually have to edit for repeating information. That can get annoying, especially if there's a large quote.
Then there's the rare, "Oh. I have more to add in order to make my point more clear to whomever may be readin' this" occurrence that also causes me to press that edit button.
-
Haha, yes I also tend to edit my posts sometimes only when I wrote mistakes and stuffs :P
-
Oh my, yes, I do it all the time. xD
But now, first I use a 'preview' button before I post something important. :)
-
It does happen, quite often I'd say.
As I tend to write and write, not read things through before submitting.
Then realizing I've missed something, worded something or spelled something wrong.
-
Haha I do that sometimes when I catch a typo or mistake.
-
I don't edit my posts as much as I would think. Usually, I'll edit once and then post a reply later that would be an edit of what I said before. Then, there's when I want to edit a small mistake or fix a sentence to help it make more sense, it is on occasion.
-
I tend to edit my posts a lot, I usually read back over my posts to check if I didn't write any typos or if everything makes sense. You're not the only one, a lot of floofs tend to edit their posts whether they misspelled something or they feel like adding something on.
-
I am like the queen of typos XD cause generally I type my information fast. So I do re-read what I write and fix my grammar when im not making sense.
-
I tend to alter my posts quite a bit however I don't immediately post, instead I preview my post before making it public. I hate to see something miss-spelt in my posts and I do despise out of place images so I usually spend longer sorting that out.
-
Edit as in if you've already posted, and changing it again for typos? Then nope.
I usually grammar proof/spell check my post thoroughly before I post it- unless I'm really desperate to respond quickly, or something. I'll usually check everything, and sort of scan it over before I send it. :)

This thread has been inactive for a while, dear.
Please do not revive old threads.

Well since the thread topic is still fairly relevant and the "necro" post isn't just spam but rather contributing to the discussion we shall leave this thread open in this case.
As for my say here. Yes I read over my posts and try to edit out my derpy parts. I especially hate it when I see users coming on to read my post or topic before I get to edit it and fix mistakes xD It's quite distressing lol
-
I edit my post a lot so your not alone. I tend to type fast and once I'm done I usually post so of course there will be some mistakes here and there and I have to edit.
-
YES. I edit my posts, a LOT. Mostly in ask threads when I realize a question has already been asked/answered, but also just in regular posts when I get a name wrong or have a typo.
-
I'll edit my post if I've spotted a horrible annoying typo that eluded me during proof reading; I hate having typos in my text. Even though it's quite a normal and understandable thing, and if the post generally makes sense even with misspelled words, I just don't like having them there. Must have some sort of grammar or literacy OCD...
I try not to do it too much...like make huge changes to a post, especially after it's been posted for a while. I feel like suddenly adding a new point or information on a post in a thread after perhaps a couple of hours since it was posted, kind of makes the new info redundant and not read by people who posted previously. As you probably know, we don't get notifications or anything when someone has edited their post in a thread.
This post was much longer than it should have been... o_o
-
I do edit, typically to add extra information or to phrase something differently. Sometimes I spot typos, but more often it's simply to add something.
-
Usually if I find a typo or something. Or just wanna make changes or updates to a journal, bio, or art topic.
