Title: Preset Files
Post by: Cannibalistic on June 02, 2014, 11:56:33 am
Hello, I've been making presets for a while, but I always make them in my Preset 8 folder, because of the 'Color me now, easy preset' thingy. So, they're in my preset 8 folder, but I want to move them to another one. For instance, preset 3,4 or 5 Whatever. I've tried some things, but none of them seem to work. I guess it's the Material Folder I have to change? I don't know.
I can't export the preset, because it will replace my preset of Zed, the one I always use. But if I wanted to make a preset for another character, I would have to replace Zed's preset, which I wouldn't like.
If you understand half of this, congratulations, you are awesome. 83 And if you can help me, then I'll love you forever. ??
Thank youuu~

Are you changing the file names to correspond with the folder number you're placing them in?

I just keep them on 'YourName' really. I have to change that in the Material Readme, too? I try not to mess with it a lot, in case I do something seriously wrong. :I

If you have a preset in the preset 8 folder and wish to change it (e.g stick one into preset 5 folder) all you should do is change there names to Preset_5body.jpg, Preset_5head.jpg (etc ) check the material file by opening it in note pad that is in preset 5 and make sure all your preset parts you re-named match the coding in there
So it should be changed from "Yourname" preset to
"Preset_#head / body / eye /tail.jpg/png" (the # being there for whatever preset file you stick it into)
For example Preset_1head.jpg preset_1body.jpg preset_1eye.jpg preset_1tail.jpg
and so on for each file the only time you'd really need to edit the material's file for the preset is if your doing a two sided preset E.g the left paw having white on it, and the right paw having black on it that would make it "preset_1bodyL and preset_1bodyR.jpg (or png etc)"
note that you also have limited files, making a new file such as a preset 13 file will not give you an extra preset IN-GAME so you may want to make a new folder or two to stick old presets into it for if you want to use another one in a file thats already being used but also wish to keep the other preset for another time so you can switch them back and forth
hope this helps C: ~ Rink
