Title: Neo's Mumbled & Jumbled Thoughts - Plots
Post by: Neowulf on June 28, 2014, 03:54:36 am
Hello there. Let's talk roleplay, eh?

Plots

Now, most of the roleplays I've been in have had 0% plots. And I mostly need help in coming up with these, and they oftentimes... Don't get done.

Ideal Plot
This is ye olde ideal plot.

This is oftentimes used because it's simple, easy, and standard. Basically, villain pops up, then tries taking over the area, stealing everything, or just killing things. Or a combination of all 3.

[The script on this page may be busy or nonexistent. Please try again later.]

I don't think I've ever found a true-blue plotted Roleplay.

Ever.

Aye, I can agree 100% with 'ya that there are little to no well plotted roleplays in-game.

Maybe it's just because something like that can get complicated and there is little room to write a full explanation of the plot to others? On a forum, like this one, making a plotted RP is far easier because you have all the room in the world to type out the storyline idea you've had festering away at your mind.

Plotted RP's in-game probably don't really work as well as they're initially intended simply because it's hard to keep up with such a thing in-game- when participants may not be online all the time, or you all rarely get to RP as a whole group with everyone present which makes up-keeping a plotline difficult.

But yes. You are 100% correct in your statement, I think. And the general plot line example you've got there is spot on. XD

I've had a plotted role-play before. More than twice actually.
The first role-play was just the two of us
because explaining the entire storyline and the situation to other people would've taken a while.
The second role-play, however, was with at least 10 people.
It was a "villian-kills-then-takes-over-the-world", or in this case, Fluorite Plains.
