So the other day in Fluorite, I was chatting with Red about this.
And I wanted to see how you guys pronounce it.
Just type the answer how it sounds.
These are the ones I have heard/used in the past:
Feesh - oh
Feech - oh
Fich - ooh
Ficko
Feecko
So how do you pronounce it?
-
Fee- tch - ooh
-
I normally pronounce Ficho as "Ficko".
-
I pronounce it "Fich-ooh."
-
Fitch-ee-o
-
I've always pronounced it like "Fee-choh" ("Ch" like "CHeese")
-
Haha! This is like the 'how do you pronounce 'scone'?' debate. xD
I pronounce Ficho as 'Fich-oh'. Probably because I say it phonetically.
-
Something like "Ficso". It's the Portuguese way xD.
-
Hmm... either fic-o or like others fich-ooh
-
Murr...I pronouce it sorta like: "Fish-o" Not like fish, like the 'i' actually makes it's own sound, like 'eye'
-
I pronounce it "Ficko".
-
I pronounce it like Feye-co
Nu likes pronouncing it like feeco cause that sounds like fecal tunnel and I don't like poopy tunnel sorry
-

Oh my god xDD
-
Oh god this debate.. I've heard so many different pronunciations for this xD
Personally I pronounce it like fi-show, so fi (like high), then show. I've always got weird comments for pronouncing it like that lawl. Though I've always heard it most commonly pronounced like 'feecho'
-
I pronounce it "Fee-cho"
-
I say fye-choh. Although reading all of these other possible pronunciations is pretty fun :3
-
We should do like a poll for this lol
-
I've always pronounced it as "f-I-cho"
-
Fich-Oh. Fi as in Fin, Ch as in Cheese, and Oh as in "Low"
-
I normally pronounce it "Fitch-ooh."
-Wolfie
-
Never really understood why people put a "t" sound into the word when it's not present in the word. I also don't quite under why the "CH" that has it's own Cho-colate and Ch-aracter ish style to it would become a "k" sound. Of course I'm not a great English major so maybe there's some logic behind why it would become such, but plainly looking on the word itself it has always been a.
Fi-sho or Fee-sho pronunciation to me, or however you want to explain that fishy sound. Seems the most logical pronunciation to me.
-
Fee-cho... I'm surprised there are so many pronunciations(?) though, and apparently Google translate says it's said "Fitch-o". I say Fee-cho anyway.
-
I like to pronounce it "Fee-koh", I've pronounced it like that ever since I joined. xD
-
*stares at topic*
How have I not even considered this? 0-0
I suppose I just pronounce it like it looks:
FICH-O
As I usually do. But thumbs-up for noting this little point, it made me stop for a moment. cx
-
@ Sura, I would have made a poll but I feel like some people would pronounce it their own ways, like that I forgot on there or something and then they couldn't participate.
So many pronunciations. O3o
I have always said it like
Fee - cho
Fee as in fee
Ch as in chocolate
o as in the letter in the alphabet
-
Oh wow! So many pronunciations! XD
I almost forget there were so many possibilities. I, for one, pronounce Ficho like Lord Suragaha does. "F-eye-co"
-
I've always pronounced it as Fitchoh. I actually haven't even stopped to think about how I'm pronouncing it, probably incorrectly XD
-
I usually say Fish-oh XD
-

Because the English language is stupid, my dear Reddles. :)
Okay, maybe not stupid, but it has some ridiculous rules that don't seem to have much logic behind them. I blame the Anglo-Saxons. (i dunno why)
-
Fish-o
-
I say it like this: Feech - oh
-
I always pronounce it as fycho.... Lol good one for coming up with this discussion. I'm sure you've got the community rapped up in confusion on how to actually pronounce it c:
-
I put the word Ficho in Google Translate, and it pronounced it like "fytch-ooo" And then I put it in different languages...
Spanish: Feetchu
French: Feshu
German: Fehiyoh (idk how to spell it, try yourself :P)
So really it depends on what your native language is, but the translater recognized the word as an English word, so I'm not really sure. I just say it like Fitchoo.
And I think the whole saying t thing when there's a "ch" in the middle of a word I guess would be that if you were to say it without the "t" sound the "ch" would sound more like "sshh"
-
I myself pronounce it Fiko (no c there, it's a long I in my pronunciation) . I dunno, I've just always pronounced it this way and have thought it was honestly only pronounced this way for years now. o.o

I believe the "t" sound is mostly accent, with some accents it's uncomfortable to say softer things.
-
Fee - cho
-
I pronounce it as Fih-sho.
It does sound a bit funny, now that I think about it.
-
I pronounce it as Fai-co

Indeed very interesting...
I've always pronounced it as just, fytch-o.
But I guess there really is no solid pronunciation of this wonderful map name. xD
-
F - I (Makes it's own sound like, "Eye,") - Cho (Makes the sound of, "Co,")
But I'm not really sure. XD My brother corrected me which he usually isn't right with names but I agree it is that pronunciation.
-
I have always pronounced it as "Fee-ko"
-
The way I pronounce Ficho Tunnel is.
{Fee-co}
I am not very sure if that is correct, but that for sure is the way I will say it until someone tells me I am way wrong. That person who says that to me though will have to be one of the Mods, Admins, or Kovu himself. Until then it is known as that to me. XD
-
I have a 'ch' sound in my first name(Not gonna give it out for my privacy on the internet, yo!), So I call it 'fe-cho', however I mostly call it 'the Tunnels' for a reason.
