Yes, I know, many characters to choose from. Also add other characters you like from the series that isn't among the votes! Also put your reason why for why you love the character you have voted!

WARNING: There may be spoilors, also I have not read all of the books yet. What I have read shall be placed below.

I actually have two favorite characters. The second is Raistlin Majere. Though he is 'evil', and doesn't make the best decesions, he was his own person and never allowed himself to owe someone else. He paid his debts so he wouldn't be hold in them, and followed his own rules and beliefs.

My all time favorite character, however, would be Tanis. He's more reasonable than everyone else, he always thinks on how to take care of everyone, making decesions that don't really help him but help the others. He takes care of his group, always getting them out of trouble, and finding a way out of tough situations. He doesn't allow emotions to cloud his mind and judgement. Also, I think how he views the world is awesome, he can be very straightforward and speaks the truth about things where others won't, stating the facts.

Tas would be my next favorite. I love how he would always steal something but to him its not stealing, its burrowing, or he'll say something like: "Oh, is this yours? You must have droppen it." Or "This belongs to you? It must have fallen into my pouch by mistake." And also "Oh, this? I was just holding onto it for you."
Also, no matter what the situation, he is always in a good mood, helping to lift other's spirits up and helping everyone along.

I also like Sturm, how noble he is and how he is a true Knight at heart. He's very honorable, though stubborn, and will never run from a fight. He faces his enemies head on, and is always there for his friends.

Kitiara is very admirable. With her, I like how she doesn't let love stop her from accomplishing her goals. She never gives up, she is an excellent fighter and planning her next move. She takes risks and is always determined. She has a fiery spirit and knows how to disarm her opponent with words just as well as with a weapon.

I also like Fizban, how they had made him a sort of goofball, and always messing up that firespell of his. They gave him the appearance of being unable to work things out and cannot handle himself, when really he knows more than all those around him and knows exactly what he's doing. I also love how they had him and Tas show a type of close bond with each other.

Curse you for giving me choices! I love them all! XD Though, I agree with all of your points on the characters. One of my favourites though is Flint Fireforge.

One thing I loved about him was how he and Tas always quarreled, and Flint seemed like he hated the little guy.. But whenever Tasslehoff got in a pickle he'd worry sick about him like a mother hen! It's those kind of relationships that always mean a lot to me, and we know that Flint doesn't see Tas as just a "doorknob."

Also, where in the Abyss is Pyrite?! XDDD I don't see him as a choice!

And I know right? The bond between Flint and Tas was awesome, what they go through is touching and though Flint absolutely refuses to admit it, he cares a lot for the little kender. I think everyone else knows it but don't say anything xD

Another close bond is between Raistlin and Caramon, though Raistlin thinks its untrue in a way. Even after all the ways Raistlin treated his brother and thought he didn't need him, in the end he still cared and missed him. They also had their moments, one of them being when Caramon had got himself caught in a rabbit trap and what they believed was a army of trolls (exagerating) was actually just a rabbit XD
It was the first time Raistlin laughed in humor in a very long time, it was a happy moment for them both. I believe this was somewhere in War of the Twins I think.

Haha yeah Flint is a grumpy old dwarf but everyone loves him. <3

OMGOMG! That's like my favourite part in the whole series! Okay maybe not my favourite, but definitely close! I think the bond between Raist and Caramon is really unique, and how they need eachother and become such a great team is so touching.

I think those series were my favorite, it was just about Caramon and Raistlin and what they have been through and going through then. It was a view of their relationship with each other and the struggle both were going through.
Another favorite part of mine was when Caramon was going to fight against the big troll guy (I think he was a troll) who, well, wanted Crysania and so he was going to try and save her. He won fair and square but the others were going to attack him anyway, and he fell to the ground in exhaustion. He waited for them to strike, but nothing came. He then glanced up to see Raistlin standing over him protectivly with fire I think going around in his hand, while Crysania was at his other side healing his wounds. Awesomeness! 8D (Also, just realized I didn't put Crysania among the votes. To many characters to choose from! xD)

Actually, it was an half ogre named Steeltoe or something... I remember useless info. XD I think the  Twins' series would be perfect for me if it involved dragons, but unfortunately in that span of time they were all sleeping... D: XD

Crysania isn't really a favourite character of mine. I'm kind of mad at her for being with Raistlin *grumblegrumble...*

And meh too D:

She wasn't really the best in my eyes, but you know different people have different opinions, and she played a big part in the series so you know someone may have her as a favorite haha.

To be honest, I'm not sure why or how Raistlin could of started developing feelings towards her. I think in a way, both were the same when it came to accomplishing their goals; their determination, sense of will power, and so on was what probably drew them closer together. Both were just on different sides.

Well, I'll admit she did have her strong moments but on the whole she isn't one of my favouirte characters like Tanis, Sturm, Kit, or Raistlin. Crysania is definitely more tolerable than a lot of other characters that I know of from other books XD

I think it was also the attraction to Raistlin's darkness that attracted her, and perhaps he saw some sort of light in her that could help him? I'm not entirely sure...

Yeah, it was something like that. I want to mention something about Raistlin but it might be a spoiler for you xD
Its nothing to big, like it won't ruin much but its mentioned in either "The Second Generation" or "Dragons of Summer Flame". I think it was the second one. I'll just wait until you've read those x3

Thankfully, in The Second Generation, like the name implies, its about the heroes children but it still talks about Tanis and them. I think it talks about the book at the end of Test of the Twins. A good read, though I liked the older ones better because of all the favorite characters <3. But its still a very good read, along with Dragons of Summer Flame. Both worth reading x3 Except the ending and maybe some parts of Dragons of Summer Flame were a little odd.

But Tanis is still my fave! In the earlier books, it had Tanis not believe the "gods and goddess" didn't exist anymore and for awhile he didn't believe they came back. I think even later he was still a little doubful but, eh. He was the reasonable one in the group, the one who got them all out of trouble. He had quite a temper with certain things, and a lot of people admired him. He was a good fighter with a bow and with a sword, and could also plan fights. He didn't let others beliefs and opinions cloud his judgement and stuck with his own.
I forget which book this part happened in, but a good example of how he viewed things was when Riverwind was going to give up or something after losing Goldmoon. Its been a VERY long time since I read it, so I forgot exactly what happened but I think he was going to sacrafice himself or something because Goldmoon was gone and he had nothing left, yeah I can't remember xD
What I do remember, though, was that Tanis wanted to stop him, but Sturm and I think Caramon along with the rest were telling him to let Riverwind do it. They all understood why he had to do it but in Tanis's mind it was a ridicules thing to do and it was what all humans did, and believed Riverwind shouldn't do it. I hope that made sense xD

Haha, I know a bit about those two books since Mom likes to talk about them (her and I are major Dragonlance dorks. XD)

I love Tanis, too! It really makes it interesting in his character that he constantly duel his elf/human halves. Rarely with hybrids like that you have similar traits. I personally prefer leader-type characters like him, and his dialogue and way of doing things always just pleased me for some reason... I don't remember Riverwind trying to sacrifice himself at all, but that sounds like a thing he would do with Goldmoon. XD

Yep, Tanis is an amazing leader in my opinion, and so far one of a kind. I haven't seen another character simular to him haha. Raistlin is wise and knowledgeable, and sometimes Tanis takes advice from him, but he wouldn't be the leader type because he mostly did things for his own benefit instead of for others V.V

Also, I just had a brain flash (my way of saying recieving an idea 8D)
A Dragonlance Rp O.o
I started thinking about making one, but make it to where you didn't have to read the books to understand it, or necessarily be a fan. Tanis and them wouldn't really be in it, and possibly Fistandtilus (how is it spelled?) probably wouldn't have existed either, but it'll have the Conclave, the three robes: Red, Black, and White, along with the moons and those gods, and all of the other gods and the monsters such as the Dracovians and the good and bad dragons, and everything else.
Not sure for a story line yet, though xD

Well, Raistlin is just so deliciously evil you kind of overlook the kind of selfish part of him. XD Yarr, Tanis is unique indeed... none of my characters can match up =P

Whoo! An RP would be epicsauce! I'd soo be a dragon. XD *notobsessedcough* I actually have a little inside joke with Mom about Fistandantilus, because right after I got my braces taken out and had to wear a retainer for a few nights, she'd make me say all the things in Dragonlance with an 's' sound and laugh at my lisp... Lawl.

I'm not entirely sure of allowing people to be dragons, though, otherwise I fear that everyone who joins will be a dragon xD
If so, I may only allow a certain amount of people be dragons, and  they may have to have human partners. Not sure haha, I just thought up of all this. I think a type of story line should be made, so things can get interesting and there's a type of goal to accomplish, otherwise things will get pretty boring. I also may have a few characters xD

I wish I knew how to make images show, though > <
That would help for a map and such haha.

Very, very true. But then again, not many people even know what Dragonlance is so we probably wouldn't get any other members... I also know that dragons have human/elf forms and stuff, and maybe they have to be in that form for part of the RP? Also, each dragon has their own abilities/personalities so for someone to actually play one of them would require quite a bit of work.

Yeah, thats also true, and thats my second fear, about not recieving any members. I was hoping just the setting of the theme and how its not completely based on the books will attract some members, hopefully those interested in being mages, warriors, mercenaries, knights, dragonlords, etc. But, the rp may also require a lot of work, having to explain what everything is and who everyone is. Anyway, I was also thinking of making this other type of rp, still trying to come up with ideas though and thinking if anyone will join.
Perhaps if we find more fans we can do an rp. I think we're the only ones right now though xD

How I got into the series was that my sister actually got the books for our either our birthday or chirstmas. I think our Aunt gave them to her because my sister is a complete dragon freak fan, and of course the books had "dragon" in the names xD
It was the first set, Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Winter Night, and Spring Dawning. She read them first and I began taking interest in them, so I decided to read them after she did. I was immediatly hooked. We both then read the Legend series, and my sister stopped there when I continued on to the Second Genration and Dragons of Summer Flame, along with the Forgotten Chronicles x3

Mom actually got me interested in a similar way. She knows how much I love dragons and fantasy, and she always pestered me about this Dragonlance thing. I was younger and didn't like long novels, but last year I started to read them and got hooked! :3

Between two or four years at least haha. It took longer to read them all because I'd have to find them and due to moving all the time I couldn't always get them haha. I have a Kindle now, so I can order them but sadly, they don't have the next set I want to read for the Kindle D:

Daaammn... Dragonlance is so underground it's hardly on the Kindle XD Shame, because it's such an amazing and unique series.. Wish it got the fame it deserved, and not things like Twilight. =_=

I know right? Dragonlance is a million, billion times better than Twighlight. There was no creativity in Twilight, it was like any other book except they made the vampires "sparkle". I mean, what the heck? Its a cliche story about love and struggling with it, yadda yadda yadda. I mean how many people would actually fall in love with one girl and the girl is having trouble deciding which one she loves more? This happens in nearly any type of story and/or movie.

Dragonlance was so much more unique, the characters had fun and amazing personalities, and you hardly ever reached a boring or slow part in any of the books x3

Exactly! What annoys the puss out of me as well, is the fact that some wackjob can just write down anything and it's a HIT. Although my novel series could never compare to the awesomness that is Dragonlance, it sure is better than Twilight and I spent a very long time developing it... Blah.

That's really rare in long series when there're hardly any slow parts (i agree completely) and the books are just so interesting! The characters seem real, you can imagine all the environments! You really get to care about the characters. |I cried my heart out when Flint died! And how Tas would say something like, "See that red star up there? That's my friend Flint Fireforge. He's up there waiting for me, sitting under that big tree of his and playing with his rocks."| (Scroll over black space to view Spring Dawning spoiler for new readers)

I know! D8 I think the Dragonlance series became the first where I actually cried and cared for the characters so much! [ When Flint died it was so sudden, and it was so well written you could see it happening as if it was happening before your very eyes! The power that was written when Tanis became so angry because he thought the "Green Gemstone Man", as he was nicknamed, was the one who killed him, I could picture the anger on his face and how he was feeling. And then afterward when Fizban was taking Flint away... Urgh! D8
And then when Sturm died! He was one of my absolute favorite! I couldn't believe they had him die, and I think he was the first out of the group to go! It was so sad, and what really made me lose it was the speech Laurana gave at his funeral. It came from the heart and she spoke the truth, she changed how the knights viewed things and made them see the light. At the end of the book there was a note about his death, the authors of the books put in the letters they recieved from upset fans who read the death of Sturm. It was explained that his death was planned from the beginning, and they had to go through with it otherwise the story would be a little messed up and not as good in the future. ] (Highlight over the black space, a spolior for those who haven't read the Chronicle Series.)

Yes, indeed very powerful... the sheer emotion that pours from the words...I don't think I've ever truly cried at a book until Dragonlance came along.

Lawl why do authors have to kill the best characters?! XD

I guess thats one of the reasons why its such an excellent book though. In a way, its a little unpredictable, instead with most stories you never see the important characters gone, they're just always there and the good guys always win.

With Dragonlance, it sort of goes either way. There are betrayels, deaths, losses, sacrafices and situations where it seems pointless to go on. But the heroes pull through, going through the challenges and in the end, everything turns out alright.

Yeah, it's also a quick reminder just how... mortal the characters are. They can die just as easily as you or me, and sometimes the readers forget that... Even the writer sometimes. (personal experience) When... When Kit did that to Sturm, I was more in shock than sad. It made me treasure everyone else even more, and they felt like my best friends.

Yeah, I understand that completely, also from personal experience. Writers sometimes become to attached with their characters they don't want to let any of them go, which the story can still be good, but then there isn't as much excitement or anticipation because the readers would know that the characters will never go. With the Dragonlance series, you just don't know, anything could happen.

It keeps you coming back for more! It's such a unique story I can't stress it enough. It's like, I can't say anything that reminds me of Dragonlance! I mean, I've read many stories in which main characters die, but like you said; sometimes the author never wants to let them go. Some series I see the characters have many close calls very often and it just gets old.. A series like that is Inheritance, where Eragon seems to survive everything, but eh. It's no big deal; this is a threat for Dragonlance and we shall only describe it's Godliness XD

Yep, the stories especially where a main character is close to death in the end or somewhere in the story, like lets say taking a sword wound, and everyone gathers around all sad and they think he/she is dead, but then it turns out they're not and alive and everyone is happy... I mean, at times its a good scene but it really does get old.

Dragonlance is one of a kind x3

Yeah. Close calls do keep suspense but they're like spices; just enough and t he story is amazing but too much and it'll ruin the dish.

Really! I hope one day it will be revered and get the fame it deserves.. No series has captivated me so much! The authors have gifts; perhaps Weiss and Hickman really are Paladine and Takhisis? XD They're like Gods! *shotandbricked*

I like the example you picked as well.

Its also insane how all their lives (Tanis, Sturm, Raistlin, Caramon, Tas, Flint) lives changed because of that ambush that took place right before they entered their home land, in the first book.

I know right? Fate works in mysterious ways O.o

I loved the one scene, though, where Tas broke one of the dragon orbs. How he spoke up above the fighting crowd, and the speech he gave, then just broke the thing. Loved it, my hands were nearly shaking as I was reading up to it, and I was thinking: "Oh my gosh, what's he going to do?!"

Yeah, when he smashed te orb I was like "WTF DID HE JUST DO?!" He really is a great character. Truly unlike most other kender. Like, when in Time of the Twins when Caramon almost gets arrested and he's trying to defend him... Poor little guy. I love him@

Oh yeah, that was a great part. The one who was holding him (forgot his name but he became another favorite of mine) knew he could of slipped away from his grasp easily because he wasn't holding onto him that tight, but Tas just stayed there with his friend. Tas=amazingness!

Remember when he got trapped in the abyss? O.o

So, back to topic, I love how the characters evolve during the story, like how they change. Laurana was a bit of a child when she started, but in the end she grew up, became brave and more confident, and became the Knights Golden General.

Aslo, I remember in the book when the group was seperated. Lets see, it was Tanis and the twins that were together and then the others I think. Or was someone else with Tanis and them? Bah, its been so long xP
Anyway, I also remembered how each group believed the other to be dead, at least I think thats what Tanis and them thought. I know that Laurana and her group thought they were dead.

My art teacher this year kind of looked like Takhisis. D= But she was so nice! She even brought us cookies every now and then... She just wants us to least expect when she brings out her army of dragons!!! XD

Yeah c'mon guys! At least say, "Ohai I like(insert character here)"

Yeah, I remember I didn't like Lauranna much in the beginning, but she began to grow on me as the story wore on. I hardly remember them separating because like you said, it's been so long o_o

I've felt the same about Laurana, at first I was like: "Wow, get over it already!" or something like that, always rolling my eyes and getting frustrated with her. But now, its like she's a completely different person xD

Same, but she is a lot better now.

In the forgotten chronicles, the second book I think it was talks about Laurana's and the other friends who got seperated from Caramon and Raistlin side of the story, explaining what they've been through.

Oh oh oh! That reminds me of the other character, Feal-Thas. He's only mentioned in those series, but he's one (if not my top) favorite villians xD
My favorite quote about him when he was asked why he doesn't try to compete for the Power of the Crown was: "Ruling people means dealing with people."
Yep, he's my idol xD

His "kingdom" lies in a really really cold world, and he's a dark elf. He is unaffected by the cold, very white like and wears white clothing. The wolves are his friends, which I thought was awesome, and he is able to see into people's hearts, find out their weaknesses and regrets and such. Yeah, he's an awesome character, and he is a wizard x3

Skie? Yeah he's really cool! I don't know much about him, but I like how he actually likes Kit. The other dragons with their Highlords hate eachother. XD I also hate the dumb names the humans give the dragons... Like Ember? Flamestrike? Mirror? The hell?! XDDD

I know right? It talks more about Skie in Dragons of Highlord Skies. They're both actually loyal to eachother haha. Thats one of the differences between the blue dragons and the other ones, and they're sort of my favorite type of dragons in the series haha. Unlike the others, they stay loyal to their riders and the war.

Hm, I didn't know that... Though my favourite types of the dragons are so far only in the Metallic realm since I don't know much about the Chromatics. Silver dragons are personally my favourte dragons... Though, I love the blue ones as well. Blue is one of my favourte colors and THEY CAN BREATHE LIGHTING! XD

One of the reasons why I picked them as a favorite was because of the fire they blew x3
I think the metalic dragons are cooler though, and I like their peronalities. I don't know the differences between the bronze, silver, and gold dragons though, or I forgot what they were.

I know that the differences between the evil dragons, though xD

The white ones would be the worse and lesser than all of the others. They are the dragon version of "gully dwarves", as the dragons put it. Dumb, cowards, all they basically do is eat and sleep xD
They breathe ice.

The red ones are very destructive and are easily bored. Not very bright and they only want to destroy things and cause chaos. If they get to bored, they will abandon the war and their riders. They breathe fire.

The blue ones are the most trustworthy of all the dragons. They are highly intelligent like humans, and can form bonds with their riders. They are loyal to the humans if they are the same way and to the war and their Queen. They breathe lightninging.

The black dragons are the least trustworthy. They are far stronger than the other dragons, but they are known to desert battles even when they're in the middle of one. They only do things if there's something in it for them. I forgot what they breathe, I think it was acid..?

I think there were other dragons, if so I forgot who they are at the moment haha.

I actually have sort of a guide book on dragons based on the ones from Kyrnn. The metallic ones are spoken of much more.

What I have learned about silver dragons is that they are, like the metals, one step under gold dragons. While gold dragons are the embodiment of all things good and will fight for anything holy and beautiful with absolutely no questions asked, silver dragons will only do it if asked or if they feel the need to be involved.

They're also kind of chaotic. They mean well, but aren't always as willing as golds to bring out justice. They also are a lot like meh :p They're very curious, too, and are highly interested in humans. They breathe sort of like a cone of cold air, almost like ice.

I have the book with me right now. In a short summary... Bronze Dragons always seek justice, like the other metallics, but are the most social of all the dragons. They like to swim and play with other bronzes, and sometimes they disguise themselves as humans to attend a festival if it seems fun .

It's by different authors, but the book is about Krynn. A kender "wrote" it.

O: OMGsh! I just remembered something that was like a very favorite part of mine in the series xD

Okay, it was in the book, Time of the Twins, near the beginning. Caramon had to go in search of Crysania, and Tas had to go with him because of the condition he was in. It was when Caramon was a big drunkard, which made me very sad. I couldn't believe what Raistlin had said to him T_T
Caramon had sent a letter to him asking him to come, and Raistlin sent the letter back unopen, and scribled on the envelope in his handwriting was written: "I have no brother". I was horrified Dx
Well, back to the story, Tas had felt really bad for Caramon, and during their travel (which they had made very little progress) Caramon spotted an inn, and wanted to go inside for liquir, though as he put it to "ask questions" if anyone had seen Crysania. Tas had followed soon after, and upon entering caught Caramon drinking. He was so upset and out of it that when he walked toward Caramon, a drinking dwarf had dropped his wallet or something and Tas just picked it up and handed it right back to him! My expression: o_o
The dwarf was also surprised and shocked O.o

Caramon made me so sad... Poor big guy. Raistlin was kind of an ass XDD But before that I loved with Tas kinda broke into Caramon and Tika's house while Tika was throwing armor at him. That was so funneh XD

Hm, speaking of kender, remember the time in one of the books Raistlin had abandoned his friends in the maelstrom? (Which was pretty messed up o.o)
Well, in the third book in the Forgotten Chronicles series, "Dragons of the Hourglass Mage", it talks about what Raistlin does after that event, so basically telling his side of the story. Well, he meets up with another kender xD

They were on a ship, running off from Kit, but the "Green Gemstone Man" forced the ship to a swirling whirpool, aka Maelstrom, to get away. Raistlin had a way to escape, and there was a chance he could of saved himself and his friends but it was really risky, and Raistlin didn't want to do it. So, he left them stranded there. After he left, he appeared at the door steps of the Great Library, where Astinus (a VERY favorite character of mine 8D) is at, near death. I think this was in the second book, Dragons of Winter Night, near the end I think or at the beginning of Spring Dawning. I think it was the second book though.

Yep, its like a curse xD

I love dragons, though not in an obsession way, I don't have tons of dragon stuff haha. Thats more of my sister's thing. I love reading about them, though.

I also love how deep the series are, and how they mixed in comedy, romance, and adventure into the books, with not to much of any of it written. There was just a lot of passion written into the books, I got tons of awesome quotes in the series x3

Yup! The mix also got me interested as well. Now, I'm not a huge fan of romance, but Dragonlance has enough in it to keep me interested. Comedy as well, but it also has a habit of making me uber pissed off with the character deaths!! XD

Sturm's death came as a complete shock to me because I wasn't expecting it. I was so used to reading stories where the main character(s) either never died or came close to dieing but being alright in the end, that when I was reading it my first thoughts were: Nah, he's going to be alright, they wouldn't finish off Sturm.

He killed the Green Gemstone man before he could say his alibi (is that spelled right?). In the end it ended up that he didn't actually kill Flint, his heart just gave out. Though before he explained what happened, I did think he killed Flint and so in my head I was shouting: "Yeah Tanis! Kill that son of a blob! D<"

I was actually kinda scared of Tanis when he blew up like that D: Like I could feel is raeg DX.

I know right? It was a very scary moment, it was like the first Tanis had really lost it o.o

He tends to snap and grow angry every now and then, but nothing like that O.o

At first, I was confused of what Fizban was doing, and even after he took Flint away I was a little unsure of what he did. Later on, though it made sense haha (at least somewhat).
