Title: Giant Couches
Post by: Nightcutter on July 24, 2014, 12:42:29 pm
Hi there, Night again.

I have encountered a new problem, which annoys me to bits. I seem to be dealing with some oversized couches now. They are taking all space availalbe, and are like 5-6 times begger then they should.

Are there anything I can do to solve this shizzy problem?

Are these your couches or someone else's?

Maybe you could explain your problem more in detail?
If you got a map and got oversized couches, maybe another mesh file in another map of your game has the exact name and messed up the correct couch.
I usually get rid of all downloaded meshes and maps when things like this happnes.

I can explain further. And no, the couches are not mine, They are red and are like those in the Feral Heart Cinema in look. After downloading a map some time ago I encountered this problem as the couch was giant. I think they come from the objects pack Amnesia or any of the city obejcts.

In Giant I mean that it was overly sized within the map, crashing with all possible types of houses anything, and would be very big.

I still with no others ideas about how to fix it, some maps just aren't compatible each other since they use the same object groups names with diferences between them.
So i suggest to delete all downloaded meshes and maps that are in your game, or even to delete and reinstall your game.

The problem is not possible to solve if you are not the owner of the maps.
ex: someone mades a map with a tiny mesh called couch.mesh and makes it bigger to fit a normal size, and another map of another person uses a mesh with the same name but its in normal size, the result its a map with normal couches and another with huge/tiny ones.

I recognized the problem as soon as I read your post. Thierry's solution sounds like a great one but I suggest one last thing before you start deleting files.

Let me explain...
Sometimes a map with lots of detail doesn't load properly causing glitches like your issue which has happened to me as well with oversized items on Red's maps. I've never had to do anything except leave that map, close the game, open it again and then enter the map again.
In other words, give it some time and patience. Maximum, if time and patience fails then youve got Thierry's solution.
