I need help making a preset in GIMP. I wanted to make a preset with the fur base, not the "Color Me" or anything like that. Just the canine fur base for FH. Can someone please help?
-
Do you mean the fur texture? or the UV maps?
-
What exactly do you need help with?
-
i need help with the layers/transparency. Whenever I try, the marking goes DIRECTLY on the fur. I wanted the fur texture to show through the marking.
-
I suggest using the UV. Make a transparent layer over it, change the opacity so you an see through it slightly, and then draw on it. Afterwards, delete the UV layer and add the fur texture. Click "Multiply" and then you'll have your preset with the fur texture. If you need screenshots I'll take some. Hope this helps!

that sounds confuzing Devy.

Alright, since I'm kinda working on a preset right now I'll get some screenshots. It's not as hard as it sounds ^^

((Sorry, just gonna double post xD))

Start out with the UV.

Right click on the layer and hit "New Layer"

Don't mess with anything here except maybe the name, but make sure it says transparency. Hit OK.

Take the fill bucket and just fill up the entire screen on the new layer.

Lower the opacity (arrow points to it) to about there so you can see through to the UV.

Now it will be easy to add markings since you can see where everything is! Add your markings and anything else.

Change the opacity back to 100%.

Right click the layer beneath it and hit "delete layer". Now you will be left with just your base preset.

Go into your textures folder and find the fur texture. Click edit with GIMP or go into GIMP and open it up yourself.

Right click, go into "Edit", and hit "Copy."

Go to your preset, right click, go into "Edit", and hit "Paste".

It will look like this.

Go into "Mode", and click "Multiply", and tada~ You have a preset with a texture! Export it and you're done! :3
Hope this helps!

its still confusing... :p
-
Just try it out and see if it works. It's very simple, it looks confusing to read but if you just try it it won't be that hard.

You stole my glory. :c
It's okay. At least you helped.
